7/6/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Pinjarra, Hyperion Stakes day

Eight races will be run and won at Pinjarra Scarpside this Saturday for Hyperion Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

3 Western Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to stretch his brilliance to 2200m but in terms of upside/progression, he is clearly the top seed. Three weeks between runs since a dominant win over the mile at Belmont when leading throughout and he was far too good for them. Racing like he will be fine at the trip and is the fresh blood in terms of stayers.

1 Fat Roy Slim (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard fit and racing well, knocking on the door. He loomed big time to win at Belmont a fortnight back but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Zaza Rock. Only has to hold his form and he’ll be around the mark.

5 Duchess Demerit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at this track/distance. HE got off speed and kept chasing with purpose but was no match late for Dennis Choux. Harder here, not sure he wins, but can run top four.

4 Magnique (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited at 1000m and did win at the track/distance last Wednesday, sitting on speed and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Hard to knock the way she’s racing.

1 Repossession (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to carry the weight but he is the class runner and is in winning form, with a win coming at Belmont three weeks ago where he got on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Good upside to come, short course specialist, he appeals.

5 Mean Machine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Maschino that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since March 29 at Ascot when midfield over 1400m behind Sixinch Heels, who was flying at the time. Like him fresh at 1000m, he’ll be strong late, can win.

1 Too Darn Stormy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a juvenile with talent for Dan Morton. He debuted over 1200m at Belmont where he gave them a start and a beating, knuckling down with purpose late to win well. He’ll love the rise to 1300m, Pike sticks, and the depth here, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.

6 Moonwalk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to Too Darn Stormy in the race mentioned above. She was on speed throughout and she did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by the Morton juvenile. Not sure she turns the tables but runs well regardless.

2 Beau’s A Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Too Darn Stormy race. He got back in the run and was keen and although he did make up some headway, he was never really a factor. He was first up there and had improvement to come, so I say watch betting. First four contender.

4 Wicked Venom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over 1000m at Belmont two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing without threatening when a close up fourth to impressive winner My Hidden Universe. Like him back up in trip and he strikes a winnable race.

1 Sunny Honey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came three weeks ago at Belmont. He got off and was good late in the piece in a strong return behind Richanco. Like him up in trip and has good upside to come.

2 Bondi Bubbles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran behind My Hidden Universe two weeks back at Belmont where he just found them a bit sharp over 1000m but was far from disgraced in defeat. Hard fit and up in trip, he’s an improver.

I’ll take a chance on 10 Objectify (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who resumes for Dan Morton. She resumes, having not raced since April 5 at Ascot when racing over 1200m and was a tad on the plain side late in the piece behind Nobellity. Resumes without a public trial but is 1/1 at the track/distance and her best is clearly good enough so I’ll take a chance on her being ready.

6 Tycoon Harry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1000m at Ascot when near the speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Richanco. The qiery is 1200m but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

7 Sunbronzed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after a win last Saturday over 1300m here when getting a good run in transit on speed before being clicked up and he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Back to 1200m no issue, hard to beat.

5 Mojo’s Luck (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been hit and miss this prep but his best is clearly good enough and good lead that Pike is booked. He ran over the mile two weeks ago at Belmont when off speed and was a bit one paced in the run to the line but was far from disgraced. Pike on tells me it is last chance territory.

6 Arcadia Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile after resuming over 1200m here last week. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Better set up here, he can threaten.

7 Gratias Deo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a game second over 1400m here last week. He sat off speed and was there to win but just found one better in Six Shooter. The rise to 1600m, I think, is okay, and despite more depth, he has to be respected.

1 Western Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been kept on ice for Team Williams, having not raced since The Quokka when first up and far from disgraced in defeat behind Jokers Grin after being wide throughout. Jumps straight to the mile but he brings a clear class edge and Pike sticks.

3 Bustler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in the Belmont Sprint where he got into a decent spot off speed but was quite one paced in the straight and just whacked to the line behind The Boss Lady. Fitter and up in trip, he’s a definite improver.

17 Devoted (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since resuming in the Northam Stakes. He got well back in the run and was never a factor when down the track behind West Star. Better set up here and has good upside to come, so watch betting.

3 Luvnwar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a good prep and should love the rise to 1400m after a first up win over 1200m here last week when giving them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to win and win well. Better set up here for her IMO, she’s clearly the one to beast.

9 Frigid (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Luvnwar race from last week and I’d be forgiving of her effort when leading and just feeling the pinch. I do think she is a better horse with a bunny to chase so with a more patient ride, she’s a definite improver.

1 Playhouse Patron (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Luvnwar race as well. He did early work to land on speed and he tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Good second up record and does appear suited up to 1400m. Improver for sure at odds.

BEST BET: Race One Number 3 Western Power

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 1 Western Empire

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 10 Objectify
