Flemington will conduct a nine event meeting on Saturday. The weather forecast is for showers, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out eight metres for the entire circuit.

1 United Nations (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance. He is five weeks between runs since racing over 2000m at Caulfield when first up. He got off speed and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Good upside to come and will be strong late.

5 Goldenstatewarrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance. He ran third to Wonder Kid a few back at Caulfield behind Wonder Kid. He had a decent enough run in transit and loomed to win but couldn’t quite see it through behind the Price/Kent stayer. Upside/improvement, he can threaten.

7 Muktamil (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance. He ran over 2400m at Sandown where he was off speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when a close up third to Bluestone. He is a horse who has talent and will stay. In the mix.

2 Miss Ole (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred filly for Clinton McDonald that comes here off the back of a win two weeks ago at Sandown where she got into a decent spot just off the speed before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Off that, she has to be respected.

1 Latin Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist that should be fine at 1100m after racing over 1000m at Sandown when near the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Samudra. Good raicng style, stable flying with their juveniles, he has to be respected.

6 Victory Tune (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran in the Samudra race mentioned above. He got off speed and was chasing from the outset but kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark in defeat I thought. If within range, he should be strong late and is a winning chance IMO.

5 Matriarch Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying I think for Dan O’Sullivan and should love the rise to 1400m. She was good late when resuming over 1400m at Flemington before going to 1200m down the straight when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight in a good effort in defeat behind Star Sirius. Back up to 1400m, she appeals.

3 Cindy Falls (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance after resuming down the straight at Flemington where she was near last in the run but rocketed late, just missing out on the win when third to Star Sirus, beaten under a length. Fitter, back to a bending track, she appeals.

12 Jazz Affair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1100m at Murray Bridge where she got off speed and while she was never a winning threat, she kept finding the line in defeat behind Eroica. Good upside, up in trip, she rates highly.

6 One Hard Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when leading and she gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Madame Maserati. I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

7 Runlikencryption (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be strong late after racing over 1100m down the straight at Flemington. She got off speed and took a little while to wind into her work but she was quite good late in the piece when a close up third to Madame Maserati. Like her with that run under the belt, she commands respect.

5 Supercilious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Corstens/Larkin trained filly that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Nov 30 in the Twilight Glow when far from disgraced in defeat behind She’s Got Pizzazz. Not a noted fresh horse but she has trialled well and should be strong at the end.

9 Belle Savoir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won this race last year and I think is on track to do something similar. She resumed two weeks ago over 1400m at Sandown where she got a mile out of her ground and whole she was never a winning threat, she kept finding the line and was good in defeat. Looks to have been set for the race, she appeals.

1 Pounding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t win out of turn but he is racing well for Moody/Coleman. He ran second a few weeks back at Flemington, chasing with purpose in the straight but had no answers late for Makram. Knocking on the door and should be around the mark.

4 Chartres (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Caulfield when off speed and kept chasing but did have his chance and he was a bit on the weak side late behind Angry Skies. Tick over jumpout last week was strong and his best is good enough to threaten.

3 Detroit City (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating here for Dom Sutton after racing over the mile at Sandown two weeks ago. He kept chasing from off the speed but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Taken. He’s racing well, hard fit, in form, strong late, he appeals.

7 Taken (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing very well at present for Price/Kent and is one of the key chances. He has won two on end, breaking the maiden tag at Pakenham two back before knuckling down with purpose late to fend off Detroit City and win. Hard to knock the way he’s racing.

4 Snoopy Now (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one to beat. He was an impressive winner two weeks ago at Murray Bridge, coming back to the mile from 2500m of the Derby, and he got better as the race went on, drawing clear late to win well. Confidence is back up, he’ll be strong late, takes beating I say.

5 Virtuous Circle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps. He comes through the Andrew Ramsden where he got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up headway and was pretty good in defeat. Back in trip I don’t mind, in well after the claim, he can win.

13 Liberami (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Robbie Griffiths and he can continue winning. Latest win was over 1800m here three weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Tricky draw, but he has earned a crack.

7 Rolls (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for the Raymond/Bell camp. He was a super winner two back on Brierly Day at Warrnambool before going to Flemington where the track was quite shifty and he couldn’t really pick his feet up late in the piece behind Makram. Firmer deck, has runs on the board, he can bounce back.

7 Shockletz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 2000m after racing over the mile two weeks ago at Sandown. She got a mile out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind Taken. Like her up to 2000m, should be strong late and has upside.

1 Stylish Secret (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran behind Politely Dun three weeks ago here when wide throughout and tried to make a sustained run. He battled, but stayed on and was a definite pass mark in defeat I thought behind Politely Dun. If he gets luck from the gate, he can win.

16 Winston (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Both runs this time in have come at Geelong, the latest over 1700m when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Patsy’s Star. Like him up to 2000m and he gets in very well after the claim.

4 Marble Nine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good racing style and should be tough late. He comes through the Straight Six at Flemington when on speed throughout and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through. Backin grade/depth, he’ll land on speed and give his all.

12 Pivot City (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is he running out of chances. Price/Kent trained gelding that clearly has the talent under the hood, and does like the straight course, but gee he has been frustrating to follow, his latest run at Caulfield being quite plain. If he brings his best, he goes close.

17 Redoute’s Night (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a proven straight track performer so don’t rule him out. He has been kept on ice since April 26 at The Valley when struggling to pick his feet up late on the testing track behind New York Lustre. Recent jumpout was good, he likes Flemington, he’s in the mix.

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 6 One Hard Lady

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 5 Virtuous Circle
