Race 1. (15:27) On The Ball Statewide Bearings Sprint 1200m
6 Dixie Doo (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 1200m after racing two weeks ago over 1000m at Ascot when back near last and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat. Finds a very thin race so happy to be in her corner.
4 Marcos (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on debut for Luke Fernie and is dangerous. He hasn’t set the world on fire in trial work but this stable can get them to fire on debut, as seen with the 2YO winner last two weeks ago. He’s a definite yard and market watch.
5 Mind Heist (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Manhattan Rain that debuts for Steve Wolfe. He looks to have trialled up pretty well in readines for start one, the latest coming over 950m at Lark Hill last week. Likely spots a start but should be strong late.
Race 2. (16:02) Bunbury Brighter Handicap 1200m
6 Lash Out (Bet Now: $SP.00) was 1400m back to 1200m last start at Pinjarra when off speed and closed with purpose in a good effort when second. Should get a decent drag into the race and be effective late. Hard to beat.
2 Corn Cob (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Team Gangemi trained gelding that resumes. He is first up and fresh at 1200m, to me, signals intent. Looks to have trialled up pretty well for the return, I’d watch the market and see what it does.
10 Show The Way (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Neville Parnham after racing last Wednesday at Belmont when off speed and tried hard but just battled late. First four threat with a kind map in his corner.
Race 3. (16:43) Redink Run Handicap 1675m
12 Western Lady (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned really well and should appreciate a rise in trip after a first up win over 1400m at Belmont. She gave them a start and a beating in a very impressive effort. Like the rise in trip for her and she strikes a winnable race.
6 Shamilian Miss (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a win over the mile at Pinjarra where she gave them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to score. Off that effort, she commands respect against these.
14 Five Down (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up in trip after racing over 1400m at Pinjarra just under two weeks back where he got back to near last in the run and was okay late without threatening. If he can settle closer and get a drag into the race, he’s dangerous.
Race 4. (17:23) City & Regional Fuels Handicap 2000m
2 Lillian (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a purple patch for Michael Grantham and is top seed against these. She won two weeks ago at Ascot, getting better as the race went on to win well. Creeping up in the relative weights but hard to knock the way she’s racing.
7 Audio Boy (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran second to Lillian a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but was no match late for Lillian. He’ll be strong late. Just depends what sort of start he concedes.
1 Great Fortune (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 2000m after racing over the mile two weeks back at Ascot when down the track behind Asif, not being able to lead. Rise in trip I find interesting, he should lead and only run well.
Race 5. (18:03) William Barrett & Sons Vase 1200m
4 Galway Shawl (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since running second in the Pearl Classic at Pinjarra. She tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when second. Back to this level, she clearly appeals.
2 Snippy Which (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over this trip at Ascot when back in the run and was okay late without threatening. If he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.
7 Zouboltz (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Belmont when off speed and closed with purpose when second. Not sure I could back him to win but can run first four at odds.
Race 6. (18:42) Bunbury Volkswagen Handicap 1200m
5 Swingman (Bet Now: $SP.00) should love the rise to 1200m after resuming over 1000m at Ascot two weeks ago. He was beaten for early speed and spotted those in front a start but I liked the way he closed his race off in defeat when third. Fitter and up to 1200m, he tAmes beating.
1 Country God (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming in the 3YO Magic Millions at Pinjarra when off speed and chased strongly in the straight when third. Looks much better suited here and appeals.
4 Ripper Rupert (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a slight query at 1200m but has a kind map in his corner. He resumed behind Wattos Mark when off speed and seemed to have his chance but he was far from disgraced. Not sure he wins but he can run first four.
Race 7. (19:20) Bunbury Stakes 1400m
13 Talkanco (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a quality filly that ran a close up second in the Pinjarra Classic just under two weeks ago, closing strongly from off speed but just found one better in Londons Image. Hard fit, 1400m, she appeals.
3 London’s Image (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a big winner of the Pinjarra Classic, giving them a start and a beating in a very impressive finale to score. She’s found winning form and she can certainly go on with it.
1 Bustler (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Neville Parnham trained gelding that resumes. He is a while between runs and is better suited over further but has class on his side and maps to do no work in the run. He’s a definite yard and market watch.
Race 8. (19:53) Bunbury Cup 2000m
5 Arcadia Park (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take beating here. He ran two weeks ago in the Detonator where he got too far out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Hard fit and rising to 2000m, he’ll take holding out.
4 Fancy Red (Bet Now: $SP.00) is racing for the third Saturday on the bounce. She was a strong winner last Saturday at Ascot, finding plenty under Pike to fend them off and score. 2000m should be fine, she commands respect.
3 Silver Eye (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran down the track in the Detonator two weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did close off well. 2000m is the query but with the right run in transit, he should be fine and can win.
Race 9. (20:29) Mgib Handicap 1400m
7 Antique Star (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a second at Pinjarra. She had the run of the race behind the speed and loomed large to win but just found one better in Platinum Shot. Tricky gate but with luck, she’ll take holding out.
5 Platinum Shot (Bet Now: $SP.00) was an impressive all the way winner at Pinjarra three weeks ago. Credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, she takes running down.
11 Dug Another Hole (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at Ascot when off speed and seemingly had his chance but he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Fancy Red. Not sure he wins but can run first four.
