4/6/2016 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Rosehill

Sydney racing this Saturday heads to Rosehill for a strong nine race card. The weather forecast is for showers, the track is heavy (9) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race One (11:25) : Piper-Heidsieck Handicap 1200m:

Back Me: 4 Orleans (Bet Now: $14.00) debuted at Beaumont-Newcastle and though a drifter in betting, the son of Snitzel showed good fight in the straight to win narrowly but impressively. Bred to handle the wet and maps pretty well.
Big Danger: 5 Palladian (Bet Now: $6.50) debuted at Canterbury a few weeks back and tried hard but had to settle for a close up second to Acatour, who ran well last week at Randwick to frank the form. Palladian trialled here last week and looked sharp in winning there. He is a knockout hope.
Roughie: 3 Henry The Createth (Bet Now: $11.00) wasn’t wanted in betting when debuting at Gosford but he was quite impressive in winning there and winning by a space. Time compared well for the program, so he can measure up here for sure.

Race Two (12:00) : New Caledonia Travel Connection Handicap (78) 1200m:

Back Me: 2 Ravi (Bet Now: $3.60) was confidently backed when resuming at Randwick a couple of weeks back and she didn’t let her supporters down with a dominant win, aided by a brilliant steer from the form rider at the moment, Kerrin McEvoy. She hasn’t been as dynamic second up, but that first up run was a really good indicator she’s in for a fruitful winter.
Big Danger: 5 Nudierudie (Bet Now: $6.50) comes to Sydney after running a couple of strong races at Caulfield, the latest a third to Nat’s The Boss in what was a very messy race. You always have to be cautious and respect the Hawkes stable when they switch horses to the other stable, and more often than not they are successful.
Roughie: 7 Wide Acclaim (Bet Now: $9.00) is a swimmer who will be a live chance here after a closing fourth to the Stakes performed Spieth here a fortnight back. Drops 1kg in weight here and gets the services of gun Queensland apprentice Matty McGillivray.

Race Three (12:35) : TAB Highway Handicap (Class 2) 1400m:

Back Me: 4 Dylan’s Dynasty (Bet Now: $9.00) ran well here two back behind Royal Engineer before going back to his home track at Nowra where he ran second to Grand Rouge. Looks to have upside and I’m confident he can go close.

Big Danger: 6 Dashie De Luxe (Bet Now: $13.00) ran in a highway here a fortnight back and he just had no hope from the back in a race completely dominated by the leader and eventual winner Correspondent. He has run well in previous editions of the Highway and this is a winnable assignment.
Roughie: 9 Attainment (Bet Now: $26.00) broke through for a well deserved maiden win last time out at Wodonga, aided by a lovely steer from John Kissick. This isn’t a strong edition of the Highway, so it could well be left to an up and comer.

Race Four (13:10) : Fiig Handicap 1400m:

Back Me: The win of 5 Marenostro (Bet Now: $2.30) first up here was unexpected, both from the punters and trained Chris Waller, who did state on his YouTube channel that whatever the horse did, it would improve on. That can only mean good things for the prep, and with a track that will have more give in it compared to first up, he has to be one of the hardest to beat.
Big Danger: If you backed 3 She’s Clean (Bet Now: $8.00) in the Dark Jewel (1400m) at Scone, it was just a nightmare to watch as she ran down the straight in a pocket and under triple wraps. She has been dodged from the Brisbane winter and finds a very good race here.
Roughie: The give in the track could suit 8 Gamblestown (Bet Now: $15.00), who has had excuses at his last two, but now gets good weight relief and will get a soft trip from the gate, so for mine, he is a knockout hope.

Race Five (13:45) : TPG Handicap (78) 1500m:

Back Me: I though 5 Piamimi (Bet Now: $9.00) was excellent in defeat last start in the Luskin Star, making up ground to finish sixth to stablemate Clearly Innocent, a race which has subsequent Group l form through Music Magnate. She loves a wet track, back to mares grade, regular rider aboard…gee she ticks the boxes.
Big Danger: 6 Pindan Pearl (Bet Now: $4.00) looks the way to go here. She was having her first run for Tim Martin here a fortnight back and she looked in a bit of trouble 350m out, but when Tye Angland peeled her out, gee she showed a lovely turn of foot to put the field away in a couple of strides. Only has to show natural improvement here to pretty much repeat the dose.
Roughie: 9 Dynamic Rock (Bet Now: $13.00) also comes through that Like Xena race mentioned above where she set a strong tempo in front and only really felt the pinch the last 100m. Back onto a bigger track now and she certainly won’t mind a bit of moisture on the track. Knockout chance, especially if she gets a cheap sectional on speed.

Race Six (14:25) : Pro It Handicap (74) 1500m:

Back Me: 4 Surfin’ Safari (Bet Now: $21.00) looks the value in the race. I think with this horse, just put a line through any run he has on a track that has been firm. His last wet track run saw him run third to Better Not Blue. That’s good enough to be very competitive here on the bog surface.
Big Danger: 13 Roguish (Bet Now: $3.40) is on the back up from racing last Saturday where he was heavily backed to win, but he just the pinch and waywardness cost him second place and was relegated to fourth. Seven day back up will be no issue and is again well in at the weights after the claim for Andrew Adkins.
Roughie: 11 So Willie (Bet Now: $17.00) ran in a pretty handy three year old race last Wednesday at Canterbury and closed off okay late behind impressive winner Invincible Knight. He has been a general tease for some time now, but he is knocking on the door and his two prior runs were full of merit in unsuitable events.

Race Seven (15:05) : Monaco Cup (85) 1500m:

Back Me: 8 Figtree (Bet Now: $4.60) ran here a fortnight back where he had no luck at all behind Le Cordon Bleu in what looked a strong race. That was the case also first up behind Danish Twist. He is third up now, so he should be ready fitness wise, and this is a winnable race.
Big Danger: 5 Consign (Bet Now: $8.00) is a very interesting galloper. He resumed seven weeks back at Warwick Farm and closed off well late behind impressive winner Duca Valentinois. Santa Rocks ran second and that mare has run well since. Consign has since trialled last week here and looked sharp in winning, so he is the watch horse, from a mounting yard and market perspective.
Roughie: The big improver here is 10 Metallic Crown (Bet Now: $10.00). Forget he went around first up here two weeks ago given he was back in a slowly run race and was carrying 61kg. His best form is on wet tracks, with his last wet track run resulting in a Group lll win. Has to be respected down in the weights.

Race Eight (15:45) : Thompson Reuters Tax & Accounting Handicap 1800m:

Back Me: Going to make 6 Less Is More (Bet Now: $9.00) my best bet on the card. He comes through the Scone Cup where he pretty much ran down the straight under triple wraps, never really getting clear, but once he did get clear, he got shoved back in. Getting fitter, won’t mind give in the track and extra furlong is perfect. Really keen on his chances here.
Big Danger: 2 Casino Dancer (Bet Now: $13.00) ran eighth in the Scone Cup yet was only beaten just over a length in a really good effort. She was wide throughout in the Hawkesbury Cup the start prior when running third, so she is going very well this time in, and looks a genuine winning chance.
Roughie: 7 Loophole (Bet Now: $10.00) resumed here a fortnight back and closed off alright against the tempo behind stablemate Marenostro. He won second up last time in and rarely runs a bad race on his home track. Might need the one more run under the belt, but I wouldn’t dismiss him at all in a race like this.

Race Nine (16:25) : Pacific Boating Handicap (85) 1200m:

Back Me: 9 Grande Punto (Bet Now: $7.00) has been given a month freshen up since running a game third to Religify here over 1350m. The form has been franked with that horse going on to run quite well during the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Huet will give this horse plenty of time to find his feet, he’ll get back and look to ambush late.
Big Danger: 12 Freeze The Charges (Bet Now: $26.00) was well backed to win last time out at Doomben but just did too much work on speed behind Sony Legend, who ran well against the bias last Saturday. Back home now, should lead and prove tough to run down. Last 100m will be his test.
Roughie: A firm track and a massive weight drop could spark 16 Maddhal (Bet Now: $10.00), who quite frankly has done bugger all for a long time. Drops 6.5kg in weight from last start, loves a wet track, draws well and last time he was at Rosehill, he ran behind Inz’n’Out.
