Race 1. (19:08) Symons Laxon Racing Mdn Plate 2200m
Holy hell…what sort of race is this. Less said about it the better. 5 Navilus Hellfire (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) picks herself given she she closed with real purpose over 1800m at the Gold Coast last time when second. Unknown at the trip, but looks to have a few lengths on these and on paper, surprised she is not much shorter. Should win…could I bet in this race? No.
4 Cut Diamonds (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a stablemate of the favourite that does have the 2000m+ grounding and recent runs under the belt. Latest was over 2180m at Ipswich when back off the speed and kept making up headway without threatening. Has that run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.
7 Justanother Hungee (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has less convictions than most and gets Blinkers first time. Latest run was over 1800m here when back off the speed and was never really a factor. Gets the Blinkers on to sharpen her up and see if she has something, or if she’s a donkey.
Race 2. (19:38) Pelican Waters Golf Club (Bm58) 2200m
2 Kovanos (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the straight bat play. Neasham/Archibald trained galloper that comes here off the back of a spank job win at Ballina where he got a sweet sit in transit, finishing best to score and was impressive. Confidence is up and strikes a thin race.
3 Son Of Satono (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) took a little while to get a win on the board but that changed last time at Kilcoy, leading throughout where he looked a moral on paper and duly saluted to win impressively. He looks the leader and will run well.
4 Madalsa (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a query at the trip but the small field helps his cause. He ran over 2000m at Dalby last start when on speed and loomed large but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Gentle tempo here may see her produce the best change up speed.
Race 3. (20:08) Higgins Coatings Mdn Hcp 1000m
4 Pronto Percy (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. This daughter of Better Than Ready is on debut for David Murphy off the back of no public trials so there is a bit of guessing involved but overall, I don’t see this as a deep race and on breeding, she should okay.
5 Scriptus Vivace (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Written By filly for Liam Birchley that debuts. This girl is similar to Pronto Percy, having no public trials in readiness for start one. Stable have had a good season with their juveniles so I say she commands respect.
7 Mishani Breeze (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came over 800m at Ipswich when run off her legs and was never really a factor when down the track. Gets in well after the claim and maps to do no work in the run. Threat for sure at a price.
Race 4. (20:38) Race Zone Racing Supplies Mdn Hcp 1200m
9 Waku Waku (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) gets the nod for me in what looks a pretty solid maiden. She debuts for Neasham/Archibald off the back of a trial at Deagon over 1050m when running second and seemingly moved well I thought in a good piece of work. Maps ideally, happy to be in her corner.
5 Fashion Flash (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Symons/Laxon trained filly that resumes. She had a three run Spring prep to start her career, placing each time and looking to show good talent. She has trilled up super in readiness for the return and with home track advantage, rates highly.
3 Warna (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a market watch. Stuart Kendrick trained gelding that is on debut off the back of a couple of trials where each time where he has moved well enough to my eye, enough to say he can run well on debut, especially with home track advantage.
Race 5. (21:08) Kendrick Racing (Bm65) 1200m
4 Lion Class (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been a model of consistency this time in and is one of the key threats. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago when near the front and seemed to have his chance. That said, he battled away really well in defeat I thought behind Prime Asset. Good record at the Sunny Coast and strikes a winnable race.
1 I Am Lethal (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Billy Healey trained gelding that resumes. This horse has had a few homes throughout his career but he has talent when right. First run this for the new stable and his recent Sunny Coast trial when a narrow third was a good piece of work.
6 River Ribble (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is an improver at odds for Gillian Heinrich. He resumed at Eagle Farm over 1200m where he got too far out of his ground and was never really a factor behind About To Explode. Back to this level, he can run an improved race at odds.
Race 6. (21:38) Multimeat Australia Hcp (C5) 1400m
5 Tyndrum Gold (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Neasham/Archibald trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 21 at the Gold Coast when racing over 1800m, attempting to lead throughout and just felt the pinch late. Trialled well, watch the market.
2 Prime Asset (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a slight query at 1400m but has run well at this track/distance previously and is a last start winner over 1200m here, knuckling down with purpose late from off speed to nail The Fixer on the peg. Soft run in transit, he appeals.
6 Air Marshal (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran behind Prime Asset in the race mentioned above, getting a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose late in the piece. Hard fit and up in trip, he can run a positive race.
Race 7. (22:10) Tab (Bm62) 1600m
2 Russian Mystic (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a nice horse and I am surprised he is not favourite. He resumed over 1400m here where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat I thought. If he can use the gate and settle closer in the run, he’s going to take beating. Keen.
4 Midnight Drifter (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came in the race mentioned above, where he got the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. He’s a leading contender.
7 Tokyo Bandit (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at Moe where he got too far back and not sure he was 100% happy around the tight track so forgive and forget. Tick over trial win was sharp, good upside to come, hos best is good enough.
