4 Seefeld (Bet Now:Β $3.50) can get a win on the board. Rob Heathcoate trained juvenile that ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he sat back off the speed and charged late, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to I’ve Bean There. Off that effort, he’s ready to win and gets his chance.

Danger

2 Kenny Boy (Bet Now:Β $4.40) looks to have a decent future on his hands. Both career outings have come here, charging from the back to win on debut. Then stepped up to 1400m where they rode him warm and when he kicked clear, he looked home, but was nabbed late by stablemate I’ve Bean There. Perhaps with a more conservative steer, he’ll be more effective.

Long Shot

3 Vetta Velocita (Bet Now:Β $4.80) is 1000m to 1400m straight away but he looks a likely type for Stuart Kendrick. Debuted over the five furlongs on his home track at the Sunny Coast and despite doing a bit wrong in the run, gee he finished off with purpose late to win. Think he can measure up to this lot.

Race 2. (13:28) Tab Venue Mode (bm78) 2200m

1 Stardome (Bet Now:Β $10.00) looks ready to win for Chris Waller. Ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he was kept very safe in betting. He sat back in the run and worked home strongly to run third, but clearly no match for a very much in form Joymaker. He was third up there, so you’d like to think there is room for improvement.

Danger

2 Joymaker (Bet Now:Β $2.90) is creeping up in the weights but Kelly Schweida has her flying at the moment. Dominant winner a fortnight back, sitting off the speed before Rodd eased her wider to clear air and she spanked them, defying a notable late betting drift. Just has to hold her form to go close again.

Long Shot

7 Youngblood (Bet Now:Β $4.50) doesn’t have the greatest of winning strike rates, but is an honest stayer and should be around the mark. Ran over this track/distance last time out when on speed and when he kicked clear, he looked home. Just couldn’t quite finish it off and was nabbed late by Occupy. Racing well and will give a sight.

Race 3. (14:07) Sky Racing (bm72) 1200m

8 Clearance Sale (Bet Now:Β $2.30) finds a winnable race to resume in. Team Guy trains this three year old, who hasn’t raced since October 17 when placing at Doomben behind a handy galloper in Mass Destruction. Trials leading in have been strong and overall, this race doesn’t carry much depth.

Danger

2 Dixon Bay (Bet Now:Β $4.00) looks hard to beat back to 72 grade after racing in an 80 race at this track/distance two weeks ago. He tried hard in wearing down Kalik but that horse was dominant to the line. Dixon Bay stayed on strongly to finish third. That form has to read well for a race like this.

Long Shot

4 Hidden Eyes (Bet Now:Β $6.00) doesn’t win out of turn but is an honest customer who is racing well at the moment without winning. Looked like he would win here two weeks ago but just failed to get there when a narrow second to Dreamtimer. With an economical run in transit, he can take this out.

Race 4. (14:47) Stradbroke Season On Sale-bm72 1200m

Back Me

2 Dis Dah Wun (Bet Now:Β $3.60) is a big unknown here. Been so well placed by the Sears camp and has dodged proper metro racing until now, mainly racing on her home track at Toowoomba where she has been dominant. Yet to taste defeat with the stable so confident she can measure up against her own sex.

Danger

The weather forecast will determine if 3 Ingear (Bet Now:Β $3.10) wins or not. If the track is dry, she wins. If it gets into the Soft5/6 or worse range, she’s little hope. She found a wet track at Doomben last start and was a beaten horse 400m out, dropping out to finish tailed off. Just wants dry ground to give this a shake.

Long Shot

8 Centrefire (Bet Now:Β $10.00) should be around the mark for Chris Munce. Resumed over 1200m at the Sunny Coast where she was given a peach steer by Huxtable and was there to win when presented. Just couldn’t quite finish it off and was beaten late by All Stars. Gets run of the race from the draw…can she go on with it and get a win?

Race 5. (15:27) Qld Guineas Day 1 May Qlty 1200m

Back Me

3 Gotta Kiss (Bet Now:Β $3.00) has a bit on these re class I feel and only has to be somewhere near the mark fitness wise to be winning. Hasn’t raced since the 3YO Magic Millions where she was good late from the back behind Aim after getting back to near last in the run. No public trials, but 1200m fresh tells me she’s ready to go.

Danger

D-Day for 2 Kisukano (Bet Now:Β $4.50). If she brings what she produced 6-12 months ago, she’d be winning. But her runs this time in have been plain, the latest being three weeks ago in the 3YO Jewel at the Gold Coast. Rodd gets on now and is hard fit, so she needs to stand up and be counted.

Long Shot

4 Mass Destruction (Bet Now:Β $4.50) is three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since contesting the 3YO Jewel at the Gold Coast where like most in that race, he struggled on the bog track, so forgive and forget he went around. Much better suited here I feel and the resumption behind Simply Fly is good enough to take this out.

Race 6. (16:07) Derby Day 29 May Plate (c3) 1400m

1 Alpendurada (Bet Now:Β $2.90) is racing in good form at the moment for Rob Heathcoate. Last couple of runs have come here, winning two back over 1400m here before coming back to 1300m and working home well late behind Dreamtimer. Fitter and up to 1400m, he’s a leading contender.

Danger

2 Montez (Bet Now:Β $3.00) gets the Blinkers back on so that does help his cause in what is turning out to be a pretty thin race. Ran in the Dreamtimer race mentioned above from two weeks ago and I thought he stuck on pretty well in defeat behind the Kevin Kemp runner. Claim, Blinkers, small field…hard to beat.

Long Shot

Another interesting runner is 4 Savvy Oak (Bet Now:Β $10.00), formerly with the Busuttin/Young camp that is now with Rob Heathcoate. He is best suited over further, and generally needs a run or two to find his best, but is a capable city class horse when right, so will be interesting to see what the market does.

Race 7. (16:47) Oaks Day 5 June (bm90) 1400m

Back Me

Perfect race 2 Wren’s Day (Bet Now:Β $2.90). He was a dominant winner at Eagle Farm four weeks ago, looking a good thing on paper and duly saluting, albeit against an average bunch. But, he’s only third up here and has improvement to come, so you’d like to think he’ll prove hard to beat once again.

Danger

6 She Za Boss (Bet Now:Β $2.35) is four weeks between runs for the Edmonds camp since winning impressively over this track/distance, sitting back in the run before peeling wider and though she took a little while to wind into her work, she finished best. Harder here, but now she has won, she can go right on with it.

Long Shot

3 Junction (Bet Now:Β $14.00) will want the rain to stay away so this track can remain dry because he is clearly a horse who races best on top of the ground. Forget he went around at the Gold Coast last time on that bottomless track. First up run was good and solid enough to suggest he ha come back in good order.

3 Word For Word (Bet Now:Β $5.00) is a Chris Waller trained mare that is racing quite well this prep. Held by Slow Hands two weeks back, but in her defence, she was wide no cover early and did plenty of work to get on speed. Kicked strongly but just had no answers late. With a better run this time around, she can turn the tables.

Danger

7 Slow Hands (Bet Now:Β $5.00) looked to be sneaky flying for Kelly Schweida after a couple of encouraging runs to start the prep and that was confirmed with a strong win at this track/distance two weeks ago when wearing them down late under a lovely ride from Brad Stewart. He can go on with it now.

Long Shot

1 Kubrick (Bet Now:Β $14.00) is a stablemate of Word For Word who can bounce back with his best. Hasn’t really fired a shot this time in since coming from Sydney, but we know he has class when right and should be at peak fitness now. From the good draw, I don’t think are excuses for him this time around.

Race 9. (18:02) Brc Tv Hcp (c6) 1000m

Back Me

2 Pizonie (Bet Now:Β $3.90) s a son of Eurozone for Tony Gollan that resumes. Hasn’t raced since November 14 at Doomben as the Summer Carnival was warming up and he just got too far back in an on pace dominated affair won by a very genuine mare in Boomtown Lass. Trialled well leading in and is a bomb when produced fresh.

Danger

4 Kalik (Bet Now:Β $7.00) will prove hard to beat here. Tony Haydon trained sprinter that stretched his brilliance out to 1200m when winning here two weeks ago, albeit in a weaker race, but was strong to the line. Interesting he comes back to 1000m but I don’t see that as a disadvantage and he does have a liking for Eagle Farm.

Long Shot

6 Wirnpa (Bet Now:Β $21.00) can sneak a first four spot. Team Hulbert trains this gelding, who is three weeks between runs since racing over 1000m at the Gold Coast. He had good specking at a price and to an extent, it was right. He got back off a brutal speed and made up good ground when fourth to dominant winner Racecourse Road. He’ll be strong late off a good speed here.
