Eagle Farm will play host to a ten event meeting on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is soft (6) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:13) Racecourse Village Hcp 1200m
I want to be on something that I think will be strong late and that will be 3 Whiskey (Bet Now: $SP.00) for Team Snowden. Two trials to get ready for the debut and each time, he has been ridden right out, and responded to riding, which I like to see from an unraced type, especially a juvenile. He looks a nice type and for mine, he has panels on these.
2 Enterprise Defence (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came at this track/distance two weeks ago. He lost the plot when the sprint went on but he ran through the pain barrier and kept finding the line in a good effort I thought when third to Commanding Artist. Depth here is nowhere near as deep and with natural improvement, rates highly.
7 Pride Of Venus (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Billy Healey after racing last Saturday at the Sunny Coast when debuting. She got run off her legs and was never really a factor behind El Morzillo. Had trialled well leading in and the fact they back up I do find interesting so watch the market.
Race 2. (13:48) Become A Brc Member Hcp (C1) 1000m
6 Surreal Ascot (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on top for me. Team Sweeney trained filly that resumes, having not raced since Sep 9 at Doomben when placing over 1350m behind Deep Respect in what was a strong 3YO race. 1000m is short of her best but has trialled up super in readiness, good racing style and has strong form lines.
5 She’s A Rogue (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key threat. Chris Munce trained filly that ran over 1100m at Ipswich last start where she attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by a nice horse in Rainbow Connection. Back to 1000m I like and has run well at the track/distance previously.
7 Sooblond (Bet Now: $SP.00) is finding it very hard to win but she is an honest animal that is knocking on the door. Forgiving of her run at Ipswich last time where she led, copped heat and beat the other leader off but found one better in Ma’s Epic, who had the suck run in behind and finished best. Back to 1000m is a big tick and with a patient steer, she’s dangerous.
Race 3. (14:23) Mount Franklin (Bm72) 2118m
1 Ain’t He Grand (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since contesting the Magic Millions Subzero where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, he did make up headway and was pretty good in defeat behind So United. Prior efforts were strong and for mine, he only has to hold his form to just about take this out.
10 Artful Girl (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. This mare didn’t disgrace herself two back in the Shoot Out before dropping back to midweek grade at Doomben and she spanked them. I think she’ll eat up 2118m at Eagle Farm, maps to do no work…key threat.
Nathan Doyle rarely gets it wrong when he brings a runner to Brisbane so with that, I am respecting 11 Bak Da Man (Bet Now: $SP.00), who ran under the lights at Canterbury last time where he got back to near last in the run and made up ground in a messy race won by Commander Bell. Like him up in trip and this isn’t a deep race.
Race 4. (14:58) Girls Day Out On Sale Now (Bm78) 1815m
1 Chayse N Artie (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key winning chance. Scott Morrisey trained gelding that got a 12/10 from Boris to win over 1800m here two weeks ago, getting a suck run out the back before playing the waiting game in search of clear air and once he got the gap, he drove through and finished best to win. This race is no harder and maps ideally.
7 Tuhinga (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a slight query at the trip but it’s hard to knock the way he’s racing at the moment. He has won two on the bounce, both at the mile, and each time he has been impressive from off the speed, finishing best. Maps to do no work so with that in mind, 1800m is okay, and he’s flying.
10 Clyde (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. Brian Smith trained gelding that ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he got back off the speed but was tracking into the race nicely. Just lacked the change up speed and finale to put them away late in the piece behind Chayse N Artie. He was several weeks between runs so you’d like to think he has room for improvement.
Race 5. (15:33) Stradbroke Season On Sale Now Hcp 1400m
2 Capital Fenkel (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a nice horse for Marcus Wilson and I think is the way to go. He did more than enough on debut over 1200m at Ipswich before stepping up to 1350m at Doomben where he got into a dream spot behind the speed before angling clear and he got better as the race went on to win and win well. He’s heading in the right direction and for mine, he’ll eat up 1400m at Eagle Farm.
6 Jealous (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a filly with promise. Rob Heathcoate trained filly that was a real eye catcher on debut at the Sunny Coast before going to the Sunny Coast 1200m again where she gave them a start and a beating, finishing best to win and win well. That was on testing ground but she’ll be better on firmer footing and up to 1400m, she appeals.
5 Glass Of Rose (Bet Now: $SP.00) is much better suited at this level. Three weeks between runs since contesting the Magic Millions QTIS at the Gold Coast where she got back off the speed and was never really a factor behind Boom Torque. This looks more her go and if there is petrol left in the tank, she can take this out at odds.
Race 6. (16:12) Gallopers Sports Club (Bm68) 1200m
13 Lennic (Bet Now: $SP.00) has done little wrong in a five start career for Scott Morrisey. She has won her past two, sitting on speed each time and has been dominant in the run to the line, the latest being at the midweeks at Doomben over 1200m. Harder here, but good racing style and if the track has juice in it, she’ll be fine.
12 Sabalenka (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Brian Smith. This mare ran over 1350m at Doomben several weeks back when near the speed throughout and tried hard but had no answers late for the finale of Midnight In Tokyo, who is Stakes class IMO, so i think that form has to read very well for a race like this.
15 Lady Falvelon (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Matty Dunn trained mare that is a knockout hope. She resumed at Murwillumbah where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never threatening, she made up good ground in a pleasing return. This isn’t a deep race and with good upside to come, she’s in with a shout.
Race 7. (16:52) Sky Racing (Rs0mw) 1200m
Pretty keen here on 15 Master Maurice (Bet Now: $SP.00). Mark Currie trains this promising animal, who should love the rise to 1200m after racing over 1000m here two weeks ago where he didn’t seem to appreciate racing in restricted room but he was very good late when eventually clear behind Blue Spinel. Up in trip is ideal and if he gets clear air in the straight, he’ll wind up and be too good.
5 Brentwood (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have come back in really good order and should take beating here for Tony Gollan. He resumed over 1200m at Doomben where the market said he would need the run but nobody told the horse that as he spanked them from off the speed in an impressive display. Good upside to come and while the Eagle Farm/second up records are plain, the return was too good to ignore.
7 Brocky (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good second up record and I feel is suited onto the bigger track. He resumed three weeks back in the Magic Millions Country Cup where he had decent three/four wide cover and tried hard but just lacked the change up speed to get involved, but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Zoumeteor. Better set up here, he’s an improver at odds.
Race 8. (17:32) Ladbrokes Blackbook Plate (C3) 1400m
3 Outback Action (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver at odds for Stirling Osland. Formerly with Moody/Coleman, first run for the stable came over 1200m at Rosehill three weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off behind Union Army. Better set up here and his Victorian form does read well for a race like this.
1 Bettcha The Crown (Bet Now: $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. He looked the winner when he booted clear two weeks ago at this track/distance but he just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by a Sydney raider in Substantial. The end of 1400m with that racing style is a slight query but he will look the winner for a long way.
6 Red Top (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Top Echelon for Team Sears that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Toowoomba Cup Day on Sep 23 when back in the field and failed to make up any real headway, finishing down the track behind Kronenbourg. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his recent Toowoomba trial was a decent piece of work.
Race 9. (18:10) Xxxx Hcp 1600m
9 The Ritz (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take a power of beating here for Michael Morrison. This gelding ran three weeks ago in the Magic Millions Cup where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, he worked home with real purpose behind Semana, beaten 2.5L. Fitter, up to the mile, bigger track, it all points to him.
5 Shopping Esprit (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Chris Waller. Good in defeat fresh in The Buffering behind Tamerlane before going to the mile here a fortnight back and kept finding the line in defeat but was clearly no match for Freedom Rally. Hard fit now, can settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.
1 Seat Of Power (Bet Now: $SP.00) might need another run and 2000m+. He ran two weeks back in the Freedom Rally race where they rode with intent, settling near the speed, and tried hard, but given he is a stayer, he was simply never a factor behind the Gollan runner. May need another run but he has a touch of quality about him.
Race 10. (18:50) Drinkwise Hcp (C6) 1400m
If 1400m is okay, 4 Emperor (Bet Now: $SP.00) wins. But, 1400m is the big query. He won over 1200m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago where he gave them a start and a beating in a very strong effort. Is Matty Dunn testing him here to see if he’s a Country Championship contender? Maybe, and he gets an ideal gate to do no work and get every chance to see the trip out.
1 Daytona Bay (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to be in for a good prep and rates highly. He resumed a fortnight back over 1200m here in a strong race and kept finding the line in a strong return behind On The Lead. Fitter and up to 1400m, hard to beat with luck from the tricky gate.
2 Alburq (Bet Now: $SP.00) is suited here I feek for Brian Smith. He was 2020m back to 1400m when racing here a fortnight back and he just found them a bit sharp but he stayed on and for mine, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Substantial. Has that 1400m run under the belt, more gentle tempo, he’ll take beating.
