3/12/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

Nine races will be run and won on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out nine metres for the entire circuit.

2 My Khalifa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a track/distance specialist and happy to butter up with him. He’s flying this horse, winning two weeks ago here, aided by a 12/10 from Pannell, who got the suck run in behind and got the split at the right time to dash late and win. Creeping up in the relative weights but hard to knock the way he’s going.

1 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday on the course proper here. He ran over the mile and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Oh Mo. That form reads very well for a race like this. Just a query on back to 1400m in a week.

Fitter and up to 1400m, I can see 3 Aiguilette (Bet Now:  $SP.00) being dangerous. They have kept him at the sprint trips in recent times, the latest being a 1200m run on the course proper where he just lacked the change up speed but stayed on and was sound in defeat behind Keep Reading. Love him up to 1400m and can take this out.

1 Rockstar Meggsy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been hit and miss this time in but her best is certainly good enough to take this out. She has run over 1200m on the course proper her past couple, the latest in the Rebel Raider Final when back in the run and made up some headway without threatening. If she’s within range on the turn, she has the turn of foot to beat these.

2 Cold Case (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in a three start career for Team Jolly. All three runs have come on the course proper here. the latest coming in the Rebel Raider Final when sticking on pretty well in defeat behind a quality filly, Kiki Express. The extra 100m, I think, will be okay, and he does find a winnable race.

6 Tapinforpar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can measure up for sure. He resumed in a maiden here two weeks back where he looked to get every chance in the run but when Stubby asked for the effort, the horse wanted to lay in badly under pressure and threw away any chance he had. That’s why I love the booking of Pannell. Strong left hand whip rider, he’ll straighten this horse up and he does have the talent to win.

If 6 Philonize (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can repeat the first up win, she’ll win. That win first up on the course proper here a few weeks back was something else. She went out hard yet ran her last 600m in 32.76, with an overall time pretty much being a Group l time. Electric win and she wwins again if eh repeats the return. Just depends if she cops any heat on speed.

5 Spanish Heirloom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) wil give them something to chase. Tardy to begin with two weeks ago here but hunted up to lead and she gave a solid kick but the early burn just told late when third to Heka Express. If she jumps clean, she’ll lead these for fun and with a firm deck, up/in will be the spot to be.

3 Star Hills (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Bob Richard trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since August 6 at Murray Bridge when producing an end of prep run, finishing down the track behind Arkham Knight. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh, loves the Parks track and his jumpout win last week was strong.

3 Tycoon Bec (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have a bit on these and is seemingly confirmed to run, so with that in mind, she’s clearly the one to beat. Ran over 2000m at Flemington on Champipns Day when doing work near the speed and tired late behind Flash Feeling. Back to a very moderate 68, Vorster aboard, she’s the one.

4 Crypto Currency (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing in super form at the moment. Tough and dominant winner two back before going to the 1800m again where he looked all over a winner when let down but couldn’t put them to bed and Chelimo kicked back to nab him on the peg. Trip is a query but with a soft trip, he should be fine.

6 Comfort Girl… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) what is doing with this horse? Last two runs, she has been $1.01 to win on the turn but both times she’s either tired late, not finished it off, or has got shy of the winning post. Not entirely sure, but I do think a rise to 1950m is ideal for her, and will love getting to a firmer deck.

Best version of 1 Munster (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is certainly capable of taking this out. He resumed on the course proper here on Derby Day and didn’t fire when down the track behind Philonize, who went like a rocket from the front. Much better suited at 1250m and the tick over jumpout last week was strong, so watch the market.

2 Spin The Reward (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will be better suited on the bigger track but he does have quality on his side. Several weeks between runs since racing on the course proper where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never a threat but was pretty good late in the piece behind Outpost. Hurdle back on, he can win for sure.

6 Just Chipping Away (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 1250m. Unwanted in betting when resuming over 1000m here two weeks ago where he was run off his legs early and was never a winning factor but was good late behind Heka Express. That was his first run since July 2021, so you’d like to think there is a stack of improvement.

Back up in trip I do like for 4 Pudding (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He was 1600m back to 1400m when racing here two weeks ago and seemed to have his chance but was far from disgraced in defeat when second to a very much in form Texan Windstorm. Like him back up in trip and this does look a very winnable race.

3 Frankel Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the main threat. Resumed over 1400m at the midweeks at Murray Bridge when given a peach steer from Opperman, sitting just off the speed before angling into clear and drove hard late to win nicely. Lands in a plum spot from gate one and has a great second up record.

6 Disagreeable Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Mick Huxtable. She ran third to surprise winner Alsvior two back before going to 1550m on the Parks track when near the speed throughout and battled on pretty well in defeat behind the then in form Boolcunda King. Break between runs intrigues me, but commands respect.

8 The Gov (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited back to 1000m and is bursting to win a race. Looked like the win would come over 1100m on the course proper last time and she was there to put the race away but couldn’t quite finish it off with Ocean Reward getting the win. Back to 1000m, firmer footing, this is D-Day.

3 Rodeo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a consistent mare for Team Jolly that comes here as a last start winner. That win came at this track/distance a fortnight back when given a peach by Toeroek and was able to finish best, but no doubt the 12/10 ride helped. Loses Toeroek but does get a claim for a very much in form Teagan Voorham, so she’s hard to beat.

5 Mr Have A Chat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give a bold sight. He did that when resuming over this track/distance two weeks ago, leading at a solid clip and gave a good sight but condition just ran out late behind Rodeo. Last bit will test, but with those tactics, he’ll look the winner for a fair chunk of the race.

11 Paramedic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a key threat. First run for David Jolly came over 1000m at Murray Bridge where he got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off behind the in form Manage The Cycle. Fitter and up to 1250m, if he can settle closer in the run, he’ll be dangerous.

6 Starsongari (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has come back in super order for Chris Bieg. Resumed with a big win at Gawler before going here two weeks ago where she got into a lovely spot from the gate and battled away strongly when second to surprise winner Perfect Command. Like her from the good draw and is hard fit now.

10 Yeah Yeah Nah (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout chance. Darryl Carrison trained mare that resumed in the Bajan Belle race from a couple of weeks back at Gawler and was solid in defeat after getting seemingly every chance behind the speed. Like the rise in trip for her and has more upside than most.

2 Tongsai Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on track I feel. Was solid late fresh on the course proper behind Outpost before going here where they rode him completely upside down, sitting on speed and he couldn’t finish the race off behind My Khalifa. I reckon ridden with a more conservative approach, he can run a much improved race.

1 Texan Windstorm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is absolutely flying for John Macmillan and despite creeping up in the relative weights, he has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat. Ran over this track/distance a fortnight back when put into a lovely spot under Ellis Wong. Just a matter of pushing the button and once that eventuated, it was race over. Leading chance.

3 Knightstown (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I think, is racing like he will eat up 1400m. Ran in the Perfect Comamnd race from two weeks back here where he got a fair way out of his ground but was never really a threat, but liked the way he finished his race off behind the surprise winner. Yet to tick the 1400m box but is racing like it will suit.

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 6 Philonize

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 2 Tongsai Boss
