3/10/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Moonee Valley

2 Cabriole (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one to beat in the opener. He debuted at Canterbury on June 9 when near the speed and fought on really well in defeat behind a good horse, Autumn Boy. Looks to have trialled up really well for the return and this isn’t a deep maiden.

8 St Edward (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over this trip at Mornington where he attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. If the track is playing up/in, he’s dangerous.

7 Kirksville (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m for Moody/Coleman after a debut placing at Bendigo over 1100m when off speed and worked home well enough in defeat. Dangerous if he can settle closer in the run.

3 Eden Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Jason Warren trained filly that resumes. She was a busy two year old and contested some nice races when last in work. Jumped out well, I’d watch the market and see what it does.

7 Lyrics’N’Song (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a debutante for Mark Walker and Yulong. She is the hype horse being out of former champion mare Melody Belle, who Walker trained. Jumpout work has been more than encouraging, watch betting.

6 La Reine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy filly that resumes after a two run Autumn prep where she placed on debut at Morphettville before going to the Blue Diamond Prelude when outclassed, finishing down the track. Tricky draw but should press forward and run a positive race.

4 Guido (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me each way. Mitch Freedman trained gelding that ran over 2500m at Flemington last start where he got a fair way off speed but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Highland Bling. Good upside/improvement to come, he’s one of the hardest to beat at a price.

1 Highland Bling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won that race mentioned above and he has to be respected given how impressive he was. He was 1800m straight to 2500m and he handled it comfortably. Upside/improvement still you’d imagine, he’s a leading contender.

7 Sunday Buzz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes slightly back in trip for Symon Wilde after racing over 3140m at Mt Gambier. He got off speed and kept finding the line but was never really threatening when fourth. Maps to do no work and be effective late.

Despite the wide draw, 4 Rich Dottie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be taking care of these. Grahame Begg trained mare that resumed down the straight at Flemington and for a little while, I thought she was going to win but condition just gave way. Better suited at this level and despote the gate, I am quite keen on her chances.

5 Trembles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town off the back of a first up win at Bendigo when on speed and found enough under pressure to score. Good racing style and does have a barrier draw advantage on key rivals.

9 Mrs Archibald (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at Sale where she was given a sore back, sitti;g four no cover the trip and tired late in the piece. Maos to get a much better run in transit, I am not dismissing her.

8 One Hard Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented mare for Donna Scott that resumes and I think she can resume a winner. She did nice things when last in work but towards the end of the prep, she looked a tired horse. Looks to have trialled well, should land near the front and take beating.

1 Call To Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a speed demon that is suited at The Valley 955m. He ran over 1100m at Flemington last start when leading and just folded late. Better suited here, he can spear across and take holding out.

3 Bold Print (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is better suited at this level IMO after racing last Friday night at this track/distance when held up in behind but was never really threatening behind Beast Mode. Can run a much improved race against this lot.

1 Lincoln Rocks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat I say for Team Archibald. He ran over this track/distance a few weeks ago when doing early work from the tricky gate and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when a narrow third to Rise To It. Hard to knock the way he’s going and is one of the leading contenders.

2 I Am The Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Benalla Cup from last Friday. He got into a decent spot in behind the speed and loomed large to win when clesr but just couldn’t quite get there behind Plymouth. Form reads well and takes beating with a positive steer.

5 Red Aces (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance behind Rise To It. He got back to near last in the run and was never really threatening. Hard fit now, his best is clearly good enough.

4 Heed The Omens (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth an each way ticket. I want to be forgiving of her run at Flemington last time behind Gala Queen. She was back, keen in the run and didn’t have much pertrol left for her finale. If she brings her best, she can take this out.

10 Naina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well for Chris Waller and is a key threat after resuming over 1500m at Ballarat when off speed and worked home well late behind Miss Trustful. Fitter and up in trip, he takes beating.

8 Williamstown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout chance at odds after resuming over 1500m at Mornington. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. He’ll become quite dangerous if he can settle closer from the good draw.

9 Enna’s Dream (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1300m here where she was a bit flat footed when the sprint went on but she picked up and was good late when second. 1200m should be fine, she’s one of the leading contenders.

11 Balastier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Danny O’Brien, having not raced since Sep 7 when a sharp all the way winner at Bendigo, producing sustained speed. Good racing style for this track, he’s one of the leading contenders.

Adelaide raiders always have to be respected and that is the case with 4 Delightful Shecky (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who ran several weeks ago at Morphettville Parks and was a real eye catcher late behind Classy Kenny after getting back to near last. Dangerous if within range.

BEST BET: Race One Number 2 Cabriole

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 9 Enna’s Dream

LONG SHOT: Race Three Number 4 Guido
