29/7/2023 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Belmont, Ngawyni Stakes day

8 Miss Intention (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t won in a little while but I think she has returned in super order and is an each way bet. Did more than enough fresh over 1200m here in a race not really run to suit. She then went to 1400m at Pinjarra where she got back to near last in the run and worked home with real purpose when beaten just under two lengths, clocking the best late splits of the race. Like her up in trip and if she’s within range on the turn, she has the finale to finish over the top.

6 Castillo Del Lago (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Team Gangemi. He ran a fortnight back over 1400m here when attempting to lead throughout and giving a very strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Cold Shizzle. Has more upside than most, good racing style and and will look the winner for a fair way.

1 Staaden (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Blackfriars for Adam Durrant that resumes. This guy had a stint with Roy Gulberti, winning the Broome Cup in 2021 before a down the track effort in the Carnarvon Cup and was spelled soon after. He’s had three trials to get ready for the return so the grounding is there despite the long time off. He has the quality…watch the market.

Best on the program for me in the shape of 1 Ghost Who Walks (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He is absolutely flying for Neville Parnham. He ran last Saturday in the HG Bolton Sprint over 1200m, not his A1 trip, yet kept finding the line in a very strong effort when beaten three lengths by Phanta. Back to 1000m and back miles in depth, Chris Parnham on, good gate…I think he’s a near good thing.

3 It’sarayday (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Winning Rupert for Simon Miller that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since May 13 over 1200m here when wide no cover for the trip yet kept on in a solid effort behind Snowzone, who was flying at the time. Resumes without a trial but is a bomb when produced fresh, so watch the market and see what it does.

5 Excellent Dream (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is another that should be watched closely from a market perspective. He resumes for Luke Fernie, having not raced since May 13 over the mile here when leading and trying his guts out but couldn’t quite finish it off and had to settle for a third to Ginger Baker. Good track/distance record, good racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

7 Songaa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be loving life in WA under the care of Mitch Pateman. 2/2 for the stable, both at this track/distance and each time she has given them a start and a beating, clocking some of the best late splits of the meeting. How far can she go? Not sure, but I think she is better than this grade and confident she makes it three on the bounce.

9 Imprudent (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. This gelding has been super in two runs back from a spell, the latest coming three weeks ago at this track/distance when run off his legs early but picked up and was quite good in defeat when fourth to Olga Luisa. The depth here, as a whole, is thin, but can settle closer in the run and still be effective late.

2 Strathmore Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is another that has go forward tendencies so she commands respect. She ran over 1200m here two weeks back when attempting to lead throughout and she did give a strong kick but the end of 1200m in town just found her out when fourth to Sunny Honey. Back to 1000m, she’ll jump/run and give a bold sight at a likely decent price.

Think there is a bit of quality about 2 Sapphire Street (Bet Now:  $SP.00) and confident she can make it 2/2 this time in. Market wanted her with confidence when resuming over 1000m here two weeks ago and under a confident steer from Pike, she was quite strong late and dominant in winning, clocking the best late splits of the meeting. Fitter and up to 1200m, it all points to her.

1 Ancient Guidance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been a busy juvenile for Ryan Hill but seems to be holding his form really well. He ran over 1300m here last Saturday and was an impressive winner, settling back in the run before coming wide and letting down with purpose to win by a space. Back to 1200m no issue, in well after the claim and will be stronger than most at the end.

6 Cauldron (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of War Chant for Neville Parnham that is on debut. He has been given a very good grounding for start one, with three preps, dating back to the Spring. He has looked to go about his business nicely in two trials this time in to get ready for start one, he maps to get a suck run in transit and Chris Parnham steers, so he has a bit in his corner to run well on debut. Watch the market.

2 Duchess Of Gossip (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is creeping up in the relative weights but gee it’s hard to knock the way she’s racing for Dion Luciani. She has won her past two, both at this track/distance. Latest win came last Saturday where she was quite dominant from on speed, controlling the tempo before Pike clicked her up and she dashed clear to win well. Both wins have been sit/sprints, so I think she has petrol left in the tank, and with her racing pattern, she’ll take beating.

7 Comic Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a three year old with decent talent for Simon Miller and is in the mix. He ran two weeks ago over 1300m here when wide with cover, spotting those in front a decent start, and did make up good headway but the race wasn’t run to suit behind Galactic Storm. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

10 Invincible Ruby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is yet to tick the 1200m box but she is a filly that has run well recently, notably last start over 1000m here two weeks back when last in the small field but came with a decent run and finished off well when third to Goddess Of Giving. Think with an economical run in transit, 1200m is okay and is a knockout hope.

Good luck beating 1 Let’sdeal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) IMO. He’s one of the best on the program. Steve Wolfe trained gelding that has been excellent in two runs back from a spell. Resumed with a strong effort behind Boots Like Bruce in a race not really run to suit. He then went to the mile two weeks ago and worked home with purpose when third to Top Of The Pops. Jumps sharply to 2200m, but drops massively in grade/depth and is a winner at the trip. Very keen.

5 The Dominican (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a threat. He is three weeks between runs since racing over 2100m here where he got a fair way out of his ground and took a while to get into his work but was pretty good to the line when fourth to Ex Sport Man, beaten under a length. If he can settle closer in the run, he’s good enough to take this out.

6 Crezee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a sneaky chance at a price. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both over the mile here. Latest run was last Wednesday where he got back to near last in the run and spotted them a big start. He was never a threat but I liked the way he finished his race off. He is a 2000m+ horse so 2200m here is ideal and with good upside to come, don’t dismiss him.

13 Exceltrain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not a whole lot of confidence. Team Pearce trained three year old that ran over 1400m here two weeks ago where he got back off the speed and took a little while into his work but was good late without threatening when third to Planet Cash. I think ridden with a sit, 1600m is fine and is hard to beat in an open race.

6 Planet Cash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing in a purple patch for Hayden Ballantyne and is hard to beat against these. He is looking to make it three wins on the bounce, with the two wins coming over 1400m here, the latest being a fortnight back where he knuckled down strongly to nab Boots Like Bruce near the peg. Off that, 1600m is fine and is a clear threat.

4 Westriver Miracle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race. He ran two weeks back at this track/distance and IMO, they rode him far too warm, leading at a decent clip and tired late behind Top Of The Pops. I think he is a much better horse when ridden with a sit so if that eventuates, he’s dangerous at a likely decent price.

9 Rupert’s Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the winner if he gets the rub of the green. I was keen on him over 1000m here two weeks ago but things didn’t go to plan for him at all and it ended up being a rather ugly watch when fourth to Goddess Of Giving, getting zero room to move in the straight. Drawn out so should get clear air this time and off the first up win, he’s hard to beat against these.

4 Extra Secret (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win a race for Donna Riordan. Looked like it would come over 1300m here a fortnight back when launching late from off the speed but she couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Galactic Storm. Tricky gate to overcome, but with a drag into the race, she’ll look the winner at some stage I am sure.

13 Rulelee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Narrow second first up to Honey Dew before going to 1300m here two weeks back when off the speed and tried to get involved but just whacked to the line behind Galactic Storm. Good third up record and if she can lob into a spot near the speed without spending petrol tickets, she’ll be dangerous.

Weight relief and back to 1400m, I think it’ll be a case of good luck beating 8 Vast Art (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He carried 60kg and ran over the mile two weeks ago and tried his guts out but the weight just got to him late when bloused on the peg by Top Of The Pops. Like him back to 1400m, he gets weight relief and I reckon with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective.

14 Top Of The Pops (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands some level of respect. I had enough of him and penned him after his effort two back. I jumped off and last start, the end result…an electric win from the back, with Pike throwing everything at him to win. Interesting he comes back to 1400m, but now he’s got a win on the board…he can go on with it.

7 Mood Swings (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give a sight. He ran in the Vast Art race from three weeks back when attempting to lead throughout and giving a solid kick from the front but couldn’t quite finish it off and had to settle for a second. The last bit will test but he has that 1400m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.
