28/3/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Cranbourne

4 Foxenberg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Foxwedge that is on debut for Clayton Douglas. This guy has looked quite strong in jumpout work to get ready for start one, the latest piece of work being a win at Caulfield Heath. Looks the leader and will take beating.

2 Central Bank (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key and I dare say only threat. Two career runs have come over 1000m at Bendigo, looking quite plain on debut before a freshen up and a much better effort last time out when second. Small field helps and this race is thin.

3 Chop Chop Go (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Calyx gelding for Smiley Chan that is on debut. He has had extensive jumpout work in readiness, the latest being on March 3 at Cranbourne and ran sixth over 1000m, moving well enough. Dare say he’ll spot them a start but be strong late.

4 Signoretti (Bet Now:  $SP.00) stays at 1200m but he looks as though he has an engine under the hood for Mark Walker. He debuted over 1200m at Ballarat where he got a fair way back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. If he can overcome the wide gate, he takes beating.

6 Stay Cosmic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Cosmic Force that is on debut for Phillip Stokes. He has had a couple of jumpouts at Pakenham to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him win and he moved quite well. Stable has had a good season with their juveniles and he’ll press forward you’d think.

2 Doublet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Doubtland gelding that is on debut. John Moloney trained gelding that has had a couple of jumpouts to get ready for the debut and for the most part, he has moved well enough to my eye. Maps to do no work and be effective late.

10 Steadfast (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win her maiden. She tried her guts out last start at Sandown and kicked hard, but was nabbed right on the peg by Miss Alexis, who I think could be a filly to follow potentially towards Adelaide and the Oaks. Clearly hard to beat against these.

8 Homeward (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t been too bad in two career outings and commands respect. She ran over 1400m here last time out where she got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Chest Of Gold. She was 1000m to 1400m there so a much better set up this time around, she can win.

3 Lemandon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Toronado that is on debut for the Price/Kent team. He has had three jumpouts to get ready for start one, each being 1000m+, so the grounding is there for a 1600m debut and outside the top two, this race is thin. First four contender.

3 Blindedbythelight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me in what looks a good maiden to start the meeting. She debuts for Moody/Coleman off the back of extensive trial/jumpout work where she has looked pretty good for the most part, the latest piece of work being a third over 1000m. 1400m on debut tells me she’s ready to go.

5 Esternay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited up to 1400m after resuming over 1200m at Sale. She got back to near last in the run but I really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat when fourth to Gambino. The rise to 1400m suits and with a more positive ride, she takes beating.

4 Echuca Moama (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Headwater that is first up for Richard Laming. She hasn’t raced since Nov 21 at Moe when on speed and just felt the pinch late behind a really nice mare, Proved. Trial/jumpout work has been extensive to get ready, so watch betting.

5 Highlands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the most obvious. He comes back to 1400m after attempting to lead throughout over 1500m at Sandown last time and gave a strong kick but was just feeling the pinch late when second to Cavalry Man. Back to 1400m, home track, claim, he’s hard to beat.

1 Stormbourg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will love dropping back to this grade after racing in the Gold Dash at Caulfield last time out. He was outclassed on paper but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Winnasedge. 1400m, I think, is fine, and is the class factor.

4 Peru (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Glen Thompson trained three year old that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since the Victoria Derby when outclassed, finishing down the track and perhaps struggled at the trip. Given a good break…maybe eyes on the Gaililee Final, maybe even the QLD Derby? Not sure, but watch betting.

5 Stellar Mofeed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a proven track/distance performer and with a good racing style, she’s the one for me. She ran over 1200m at The Valley last time when on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and she found, kicked, but was nabbed late by Merrigold. She’ll be hard to get past back to this level.

8 Snatched (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Hayes trained filly that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Nov 1 at Kilmore when off speed over 1450m and worked home well enough in defeat I thought behind Autumn Slide. Jumpout work has been pretty good and fresh at 1300m I do like.

7 Queen Amanjena (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with his best. She ran over 1400m at Pakenham last time when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when tiring late behind Trangoojahray, who won again last night. Form reads well and the depth here isn’t deep.

4 Excess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the best horse in the race if she’s here to play. She ran over 1200m at Caulfield last time when chasing from the outset and was a tired horse late behind impressive winner Tatsumaki. Home track, back miles in grade/depth, she’s the one to beat.

7 Roadcone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Moody/Coleman trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 4 at Caulfield Heath when placing behind subsequent Stakes performer Smokin Princess. Trialled well to my eye and will be strong late.

1 Estrapaz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy galloper that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Dec 28 at The Valley when leading and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Delta Sky. Looked to move well in a recent jumpout and can sprint well fresh so watch betting.

1 Sky Out (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the throw at the stumps in the get out. He resumed over the mile at Kilmore where he just looked in need of the run and ran accordingly, but for the most part, he was far from disgraced in defeat. Love him up to 2000m, kind map, claim, upside…only runs well I say.

7 Pat’s Bro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be suited up in trip for Team Hayes after a maiden win over the mile at Kilmore when near the speed throughout and was trucking before being clicked up and he got better as the race went on to win and win well. Confident he measures up.

5 Flanagan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a track/distance winner and comes into this off the back of a win when leading throughout and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Harder here, but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

NEXT BEST: Race Five Number 5 Highlands

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 1 Sky Out
