28/2/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

Ten races will be run and won at Eagle Farm on Saturday, headlined by the Preludes of the QTIS Jewel. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is out a half metre for the entire circuit.

5 Hey Daisy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was scratched from a much easier race at Ballina to be saved for this and I think she can measure up. Not sure she beat much last start at Grafton but she was near the speed and trucking before being clicked up and away she went to spank them. Keen to see how she goes.

3 Cabaletto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Munce trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Cup Day at this track/distance when near the speed and tried hard but had no answers late for a good mare, Balance The Books. Looks to have trialled well and strikes a winnable race.

1 Concession (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was pretty good in defeat last Wednesday at this track/distance, getting a fair way out of his ground but did like the way he finished his race off late. If within range, i do think he has the finale to be dangerous.

8 Lovey Dovey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch for Chris Waller and confident she can handle the rise to Saturday metro grade. She has won two on the bounce, both over 2150m at Ipswich where each time she has given them a start and a beating in impressive efforts. Hard to knock the way she’s going and happy to be in her corner.

4 Guarded Optimist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at the Gold Coast. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was a definite pass mark. Like the rise to 2200m and overall, this is a race well within reach.

9 Prochester (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up for Jack Bruce, having not raced since Jan 28 when a winner over 1800m here, making a sustained run from off speed and had enough in hand to score. Has won at the trip previously and a tick over trial was pretty good.

1 Areprice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the clear top seed. He hasn’t raced since Jan 17 when a dominant debut winner at Doomben, sitting on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win quite well. He’s suited at 1000m with fresh legs and takes a power of beating for mine.

3 Boomtowns (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Written Tycoon colt that is on debut for Tony Gollan. He won a recent trial at Doomben and seemingly went about his business quite nicely when a winner over 1000m. Good grounding for this and stable is flying with their juveniles.

6 Tosen Sabi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did a good job in two runs during the Summer to start his career, winning on debut at Toowoomba before being far from disgraced at this track/distance and was spelled. Looks to have trialled well, will press forward and give cheek.

9 Night Market (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Jonker for Tony Gollan that is having start one. She looked quite strong in her trial win at Doomben, winning by a space and ran decent enough for the morning. She looks the clear pick of the first starters and clearly appeals.

3 Elusive Capital (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Michael Freedman trained filly that resumes after a two run Summer prep to start her career, placing each time. Resumes without a public trial but looks to have talent and is one of the leading contenders.

1 Esperanza (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an impressive debut winner a few weeks back over 1110m at Doomben. She gave them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Back to 1000m should be fine and with good upside, appeals.

4 Just Flying (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Noble Conqueror a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot just off speed and did try hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Third up and hard fit, he’s got good upside and can take this out.

3 Brindavan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. He ran four weeks ago at this track/distance when just off speed and I thought was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Noble Conqueror. Break between runs, I think, is fine, and he strikes a winnable race.

2 Raf Attack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs at 2000m and for mine, is racing like back to 1800m suits. He ran behind Prince Levi a few weeks back when off speed and kept chasing but did seemingly have his chance. He’s racing like a drop back in trip will suit and strikes a very winnable race with his best.

6 Nails Murphy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play. He tried his guts out two weeks ago at this track/distance and I thought when he loomed, he was hailed as the winner, but had to settle for a second to Noble Conqueror. Think if he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

7 Noble Conqueror (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying. Never thought I’d say he showed grit to win but he did in the race mentioned above because he was there to be beaten but he dug in and fought to get the win. Off that, he commands respect.

5 Queen Air (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m here two weeks back when wide, doing work and was a beaten horse on the turn when down the track behind Green Fly. Fitter, up in trip, not dismissing her.

11 Savagery Vibe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it, that win being two weeks ago at this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating, launching late to score. 1200m run/win under the belt, better for it, she takes beating.

2 Flying Destiny (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a solid third at this track/distance when on speed and he was brave late but had no answers for Press Link, who has won again since, so the form reads super and hard fit, he appeals.

10 Amore Veloce (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m here at the midweeks when on speed in the small but just lacked the change up speed to go with them late behind Emperor. Back up to 1200m suits, will press forward and give a decent sight.

1 Earn To Burn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the 1000m horse here and despite being a few weeks between runs, I think he’s top seed. He won four weeks ago at this track/distance when heavily backed and despite a few nervous moments, he was too good. Looks suited at the short course and should take beating once again.

3 Isti Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Paul Shailer trained filly that resumes. Her last run came during the Winter Carnival when second in the Oxlade to Brave Design. Given a good break and looks to have trialled up very well for the return so watch betting.

4 Dragonne Rouge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m two weeks back here. She got into a decent spot just off speed but just whacked late and was never really a factor in a plain effort. Like her back in trip and if the rain doesn’t hit too hard, she’s an improver.

1 Hatchet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Rob Heathcoate. He was dominant three weeks ago at Doomben but I will say the race was set up for him with Hell and He’s Heaven going crazy hard in front. This guy sat off them and finished best. Hard to knock the way he’s racing, happy to be in his corner.

3 Battlefield (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after a win over 1400m here four weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win quite well. He’ll be strong at the end of 1200m. Just depends what start he concedes.

4 Vodka Martini (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m two weeks back here. He landed in a decent spot in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Like the rise in trip for him…doubt he wins but can run first four.

2 Weigall Tiger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) takes beating here for mine after racing over 1200m three weeks ago at Doomben when resuming. He found them a bit sharp in the fast run race but was good late when fourth to Hatchet. Think he can settle much closer, good upside and love him up to 1400m.

5 John Rambo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Tony Gollan. He ran second a fortnight back at this track/distance when off speed and presented to win but just couldn’t quite get there and had to settle for a second to Green Fly. He has that 1400m run under the belt, which holds him in good stead.

1 Edited By (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over the mile here when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Living Free when fourth. Fresh legs, back to 1400m, good racing style, will give cheek.
