Eight races have been set down for Belmont on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

1 Morning Thunder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to resume a winner and make it 2/2 to start his career. Luke Fernie trained colt that debuted over 1000m at Belmont on Feb 21, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. Resumes without a public trial but the big tick/lead is W Pike booked.

6 Farnova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) jumps on the bunny and only runs well, as seen three weeks ago at this track/distance. She landed in front and gave a decent account from the front but had no answers late for Achy Breaky. She’ll look the winner at some stage.

8 Da Hinchi Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Susan Olive trained filly that debuts. She has had two trials this time in to get ready for start one and hasn’t looked too bad to my eye. Doubt she is good enough to win here on debut but could pinch first four.

1 Xentaro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist for Neville Parnham and has shown in recent times that he can measure up against older horses, as seen three weeks ago at this track/distance when sitting off speed and was impressive in the run to the line. Confident he can win, especially back to his own age.

4 Just Walter John (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mitch Pateman trained three year old that resumes. His last run came on March 7 at Bunbury when leading and giving a decent sight but just tired late. Fresh at 1000m I like, he’s a key threat.

7 Desert Ora (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has earned a crack in town after a couple of wins at Albany over 1240m, the latest seeing her give them a start and a beating. Good test here, but the way she’s racing, she commands respect.

7 Yorga Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a forgive I thought when resuming two weeks ago here, sitting off speed and was building nicely I thought but didn’t get the clearest of paths in a forgive run. Good upside to come, Pike sticks and she has a touch of quality about her.

6 The Calabrese (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m here last Saturday where he didn’t have much luck in the straight in a total forgive run behind Baby Pearl. Think 1200m is ideal. maps well again and prior efforts were strong.

9 Eliteone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed last Saturday at this track/distance where he got back in the run and was solid enough I thought after not getting much room in the straight to let down. Doubt he wins but he can run first four.

1 Mt Shirataku (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take a power of beating. He ran over 1300m two weeks ago here where he got back to near last in the run and made up a stack of ground in defeat when second to Speed Bubble. He should love getting to 1400m, be within range and I think will be too good.

2 Rainline (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was another that really caught the eye behind Speed Bubble a fortnight back. She was last and spotted them a big start but loved the way she finished her race off. She can settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

5 Mia Gusto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was first up behind Speed Bubble two weeks back over 1300m here. She was back in the run and was never a winning threat, but made up a stack of ground in a really good return. If she can be within range, she’s got the finale to be dangerous.

Keen to be with 9 Rock The Market (Bet Now:  $SP.00), a Simon Miller trained mare who was an impressive winner first up at Pinjarra, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive return. Confident she can measure up to metro level and with good upside, is top seed for me.

3 Hedawood (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and worked home with purpose when third to Magnique. If he can settle closer, he takes holding out.

1 God Has Drifted (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here. He lobbed on speed pretty comfortably I thought and was there to threaten but tired in the straight to finish down the track. Fresh legs, back to 1200m, he’s dangerous at a price.

5 Antique Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. She ran over the mile here two weeks ago where she was building into the race nicely but got held up and lost all momentum late. Pike is on, the rise in trip looks ideal and has a touch of class.

4 Startling Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice mare on the up for Michael Grantham. She won over 2200m here a fortnight back, getting a peach steer from Pike and drove clear late to win and win well. Loses Pike but hard to knock the way she’s racing at present.

6 Grand Reserve (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was plain behind Startling Star two weeks back here. He got into a decent spot in transit but when asked for the effort, he just whacked late in the piece. Hit and miss but his best is good enough to be dangerous at odds.

5 Territory Man (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the most obvious. He was a dominant first up winner two weeks ago at this track/distance, landing on speed and seemingly went comfortably before being clicked up by Pike and away he went to win and win well. Better for the run, kind map once again…I think good luck beating him.

13 With Discretion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an eye catcher behind Territory Man here a fortnight back. He got back to near last in the run and made up good ground without threatening. If he can settle closer in the run, he could be a problem for Territory Man.

10 Monte Tremezzo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here two weeks back when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort and good return behind a nice horse, Bassett Hound. Fitter, up in trip, a must for exotics.

4 Noteworthy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Pattern/Race shape was against her two weeks ago here but I liked the way she kept chasing and finding the line in defeat. More genuine tempo here hopefully, she can sit off and launch late.

7 Correct Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran sixth in the same race mentioned above, won by Snippy Which. Race shape was against him but he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark. Pike takes over, he commands respect.

8 Citino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here where he got a fair way out of his ground but liked the way he kept chasing and finding the line in defeat. If he can settle closer in the run, he’s dangerous.

BEST BET: Race Seven Number 5 Territory Man

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 1 Xentaro

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 4 Noteworthy
