25/4/2023 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Beaudesert, Anzac Day races

Beaudesert will play host to an eight race program on Tuesday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out a metre for the entire circuit.

Nothing 2YO race on paper so going with the one with less convictions, which is 3 Purveyor (Bet Now:  $SP.00), on debut for Bevan Laming. He is a Merchant Navy colt that is having start one off the back of a couple trials and each time he has seemingly moved well, the latest coming at the Sunny Coast a few weeks ago when second over 1200m, so he’s had a good grounding for this and the depth is quite thin.

1 Mishani Perfection (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets Winkers on to sharpen him up. He’s had two runs back from a spell, resuming over 1000m at the Sunny Coast when back and making up solid headway without threatening. She then went to 1100m here when never a factor behind Minto’s D’Oro after getting a fair way out of her ground. Gate one and big jockey upgrade, she can take this out.

6 Pariah On Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is having start two here for John Gilmore. Her debut came here in the Minto’s D’Oro race mentioned above where she got back, crowded between runners and just looked very raw and new to the caper when down the track. Like her up to 1400m and with upside to come, she’s certainly in with a shout.

1 Amalgamation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the first of two morals on the card. He’s been strong in two runs back from a spell, resuming over 1800m at Eagle Farm when closing off well behind Leery before going to 2040m at Doomben in a solid 3YO race and was very good late when second to Compass Rose. On a path, you’d assume, towards the QLD Derby, and should continue that path via a maiden win here.

8 Bader (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but is racing well and should be around the mark once again. Contested a 2150m maiden at Toowoomba last time and tried to make a sustained run from the back but couldn’t quite pull it off. That said, he was good in defeat when second to Jetpack Verdi. That run should toughen him up for this. Key threat.

5 King Cornelius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner for Ethan Ensby, who is a good trainer when it comes to up and coming stayers. He ran over 1700m in a Grafton maiden last time and wasn’t bad in the run to the line without threatening behind Charmed Destiny. I think with a patient steer, the trip will be fine, and outside the favourite, the depth is very thin.

There is clear intent with 4 Octavio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) and with the Waller polish, he’ll do me. Son of Pierro out of a Zabeel mare that is on debut and the old gem is the Zabeel breed, either sire or dam side, grow a leg when Blinkers are applied. He trialled really well a couple of weeks ago here when third, and noteworthy without Blinkers. They are on for start one and Orman steers. Enough for me.

10 Klang Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Lindsay Gough trains this gelding, who was big odds when debuting at Doomben off so so trials, but he ran a very credible race after sitting near the speed, finishing fourth to I Am Mason. Very encouraging debut and up to 1400m, back miles in depth overall, he has to rate as one of the hardest to beat.

1 Avared (Bet Now:  $SP.00) could well be a donkey but the camp can be very astute and sneaky when it comes to trials. This guy trialled a few weeks ago at the Sunny Coast and looked like a complete camel when last, beaten double digit lengths under riding. But, there is tinkering with the gear for start one and I do respect this stable. One for wider exotics.

3 The Golden Soul (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Greg Cornish trains this gelding, who ran over the mile at Ballina last time where he had the suck run behind the speed and tried hard on the testing track but couldn’t quite finish it off when a narrow second to Fortivaci. 1/1 at the track, in well after the claim and strikes a race with little depth.

13 Count On Me (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can be hit and miss but his best can see him take this out. He ran over 1700m at Ipswich last start and was a beaten horse on the turn, running last in the field of six and was plain behind Original Glaze. Prior efforts were sound and good enough to take this out, so if you can forgive last run, he’s in with a big shout.

5 Bad Influence (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has more upside than most and should appreciate a rise in trip. Glenn Thornton trains this daughter of Contributer, Market said she would need the run when resuming over 1400m at Grafton and that’s how it panned out after sitting off the speed, but didn’t think she was too bad in defeat behind Commanding Reign. 1/1 at the track/distance and has good upside to come. Dangerous.

6 Jemeldi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems best suited at the short course so 1100m here with fresh legs is ideal. He hasn’t raced since the Magic Millions Carnival when down the track at the Gold Coast over 1200m in a strong 3YO race. He is a sprinter so 1100m is a big tick and his recent trial win here was very sharp. He’ll land near the front and proving hard to run down.

Back to a sprint trip can see 3 Invincible Courage (Bet Now:  $SP.00) bounce back. He ran last Saturday at Eagle Farm over 1200m where he got way too keen in the run and that left him with nothing left in the petrol tank for the straight when down the track behind Aureus Angel. Back to 1100m, more positive ride, likely leading, his best is clearly good enough to take this out.

Fitter and up to 1100m are two big ticks for 2 Horowitz (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He resumed over 1000m at the Sunny Coast where he did a bit wrong in the straight but wasn’t too bad late in the piece without threatening behind Hard Revya. He has a good second up record and with a solid tempo likely on the cards, he’ll get his chance to finish off strong.

7 Immoral (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is well named because I do think he is a moral. Both runs back from a spell have come over 1000m at the Sunny Coast and has placed each time, the latest seeing him third in the race mentioned above won by Hard Revya. Hard fit now and getting to 1100m, Orman back on…surely this is D-Day for him. He’s in trouble if he can’t beat these.

11 Upper Class Girl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has less convictions than most and comes here as a last start winner, which came at this track/distance in a maiden. She would have been a bad beat if she didn’t get clear momentum but she managed to get it when it counted and was strong to the line in getting the job done, with a gap to third. Senior jock on, she commands respect.

5 Toomuchinformation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on speed and run a bold race. He comes back to 1100m after racing over 1200m here last time, where he sat outside the speed throughout and seemed to truck well in the run before taking the front and was strong to the line in winning. Back in trip no issue and with a win on the board, his confidence is up and he can on with it.

1 Night Guy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won’t know himself back to 60 grade. He has done most of his recent racing at metro level at Doomben where for the most part, he has been far from disgraced albeit has never really threatened. Should lob into a beautiful spot from the gate, the depth is very much on the thin side and I think he’s just the each way bet against these.

3 Calcareous (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a good prep. Lauren Abbott trains this gelding, who resumed over 1200m at the Sunny Coast where he got a fair way out of his ground but you had to like the way he found the line late in the piece when third to Jimmy’s Dream. Fitter and up to 1400m, Orman sticks, this is a very winnable race for him.

10 Tee Amici (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can be a big improver here. He resumed on the Poly at the Gold Coast where the market said he had three legs and ran accordingly, finishing down the track and pulling up with a slow recovery. He is a winner at the track, he maps ideally and has upside to come. His best is certainly good enough to beat this lot.

14 Better Strings (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me in the get out. Promising filly that is bursting to win a race, her latest run being over 1350m at Ipswich when finishing off with real purpose late in the piece when second to Lade Le Da, a filly who has the potential to being a sleeper Oaks contender. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and up to 1400m, back in depth, she’ll do me.

9 Heat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous if he can settle closer in the run. His last run was a few weeks ago over 1400m at Gatton where he got back to near last in the run and made up good headway without threatening behind Union Spirit, running fourth, beaten a couple of lengths. That was his first run in a month so you’d like to think there is room for improvement.

13 Layla’s Song (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a first four contender. Month between runs when racing over 1300m at Ballina. She attempted to lead throughout and she gave a solid kick but the break between runs, condition just gave way when third to Sherriff Cody. Better for the run under the belt, likes racing here, good pattern, she’ll look the winner at some stage.

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 1 Night Guy
