A nine race program has been assembled for Rosehill this Saturday. The weather forecast is for showers, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race One (11:25) : John Miller Hall Of Fame Handicap 1200m:

Back Me: 1 Viridine (Bet Now: $2.60) had strong market support for Godolphin when debuting over 1100m here a fortnight back where he had a charmed run behind the tempo and once he got clear air, he attacked the line and surged hard to win. Looks a real bright prospect for the stable and the extra 100m is perfect.
Big Danger: 2 Ipso Facto (Bet Now: $7.00) resumed over 1100m here two weeks ago and did a huge job in defeat given he was wide no cover for the entire trip and looked to do plenty wrong but he balanced up in the straight and kicked on very strongly to run a game third to Viridine. 1200m looks his go and with the run under the belt, he should be nearly right to go here.
Long Shot: 6 Silence (Bet Now: $8.00) scored a sharp debut win at Newcastle before going to Randwick where he had confident raceday support in the market but didn’t let down at all behind The Mighty Fed. I will put that down to the sticky track. Back on top of the ground will suit him here and off the debut run, he’ll go close here.

Race Two (12:00) : George Moore Hall Of Fame Handicap (78) 1400m:

Back Me: 2 Gretna (Bet Now: $5.25) is a filly who is in excellent form for the Chris Waller yard. Dashed right away and looked the winner when racing at Randwick last time out but was nabbed right on the peg by the well backed Heavenly Anna. Has since trialled and went very well to my eye. Back to her own age and is in a purple patch.
Big Danger: 1 Quick Feet (Bet Now: $8.50) faces her D-Day here. Ran here two weeks ago and I think you have to forgive her for her failure and weak finish. Got caught wide throughout and couldn’t overcome that behind New Universe. Looks to get a much better run here, and on her best form, she is better than these.
Long Shot: 4 Samadoubt (Bet Now: $13.00)is a Bjorn baker trained gelding trialled up well on a couple of occasions prior to resuming behind New Universe over 1200m here where he didn’t get much luck in the straight when appearing to have something to offer but was never going to beat the winner. 1400m looks okay for him and he appears to map well.

Race Three (12:35) : Saintly Hall Of Fame Handicap (78) 1100m:

Back Me: 1 New Universe (Bet Now: $2.20) is a potential Group l performer who created a big impression at his Australian debut here a fortnight back. Was a mile back in the run but when Tommy gave him clear air out wide, he savaged the line despite not being fully ridden out and won with class/authority. I’m sure he’ll be up north after this, and I think he can go there with two wins on the board.
Big Danger: 2 Good Time Charlie (Bet Now: $7.50) is a gelding in ripping form at the moment for the Joe Pride yard. Resumed with a second at Wyong before racing on his home track at Warwick Farm where Bowman shoved him into the clear and he surged hard late to cling on and beat Palladian, who ran well at Scone. Form looks okay and being third up, he should be close to peak fitness.
Long Shot: 3 Memes (Bet Now: $5.50) is a filly low flying for the in form Jason Coyle. She has returned this time in with a couple of sharp wins, though I will say she has dictated from the front and gave nothing else a look in. But she has done the job and has run fast time. Speed horses are suited at the 1100m Rosehill start and she will take some catching.

Race Four (13:10) : TAB Highway Plate (Class 3) 1500m:

Back Me: 2 Red Knot (Bet Now: $7.50) was 1900m back to 1400m last time out at Newcastle where he was given a lovely on speed ride by Paul King and the horse kicked hard until the final 100m when just lacking the killer turn of foot. Back up in trip suits this horse, he maps well and he does have some really good form next to his name.
Big Danger: 5 Attainment (Bet Now: $18.00) looks a great each way play for mine here. Ran really well in a Randwick Highway two back before going to the Sapphire Coast where he got a mile back in the run and closed off strongly late. Rosehill 1500m fourth up looks ideal and he is a proven Highway performer. Keen to be on his back here at a price.
Long Shot: 6 Dyfield (Bet Now: $21.00)is a very talented galloper for the in form Phillip Courtney stable and deserves another crack at a Highway. Ran at the Sapphire Coast last time out and always looked the winner, but as he can often do, he laid in and wanted to throw it away but he was going too well. He can definitely measure up here.

Race Five (13:45) : Lloyd Williams Hall Of Fame Handicap (72) 1100m:

Back Me: 3 Old Man Sam (Bet Now: $10.00)drops a bit in grade/depth after contesting the Town Plate at Wagga where he sat outside the speed and looked to travel well in the run but just couldn’t quite finish it off when sixth to Santa Ana Lane. That surely reads well for a 72 race. Should get a lovely run near the speed and gets the claim.
Big Danger: 7 Dissolute (Bet Now: $8.00)comes through a midweek race over 1100m at Warwick Farm where he did a bit of work from a wide draw and loomed to win and though he didn’t quite finish it off, he stuck on very well behind Good Time Charlie. Just has to overcome the sticky gate to be a threat.
Long Shot: 9 Rose Of Man (Bet Now: $15.00) is a hard mare to trust on her day, but when she is right, she has a lethal finish on her and is certainly up to winning this. She ran at this track/distance a fortnight back where got a mile back in a race dominated by those near the speed. Looks as if they will go hard here, so her racing pattern will be suited here.

Race Six (14:25) : JB Cummings Hall Of Fame Handicap (85) 2000m:

Back Me: 1 Montauk (Bet Now: $7.50) is a rejuvenated galloper for Chris Waller in the past six months. He had been touted as a non winner for a long time but he has really found some consistency in recent times. Produced a remarkable effort in the Wagga Cup last time out when working home from near last to run fourth to Stampede, who came out to win the Chairmans last weekend, so the form has been franked and this is a significant drop in grade.
Big Danger: 5 Mortar Platoon (Bet Now: $8.00) could not have been ridden any better by Tommy Berry at Hawkesbury three weeks back. The only thing the ride didn’t get was the win, getting nutted out of a photo by stablemate Great Glen. Was nominated for Scone last Saturday but was saved and instead runs on his home track. Looks a key threat.
Long Shot: 4 Broadside… (Bet Now: $6.50) what do we do with this galloper. First two runs back have been par, perhaps disappointing. Though I will say he was much better at Hawkesbury behind So Willie three weeks ago. The trial at Kembla Grange last week was horrible, so on form, I couldn’t have him, but he is out to his pet trip now.

Race Seven (15:05) : Winx Hall Of Fame Handicap (93) 1500m:

Back Me: 11 Liapari (Bet Now: $7.00) clearly on top for me here. He was nearly two months between runs when racing over 1300m at Hawkesbury three weeks back where he looked a little unlucky not to win. Got held up a touch in the straight and didn’t really have the clearest of paths. 1500m on his home track looks perfect and has the upside.
Big Danger: 7 Berry Delicious (Bet Now: $10.00) looks the sharp improver here at odds. Resumed over 1350m here a fortnight back where she was disinterested until the straight, then picked up and was poking her way through the field. If we happened to get a rain affected track, I think she is nearly a standout bet each way. Even on firm ground, she’s a definite threat.
Long Shot: 12 Believe (Bet Now: $11.00) is a quality mare for Team Cummings who has had two runs back from a 12 month break so she should be getting ready to show us her best. Ran over 1350m here two weeks ago and on paper, she didn’t really do a great deal, but she was solid to the line late. Getting to a more ideal trip now and she does have class/quality.

Race Eight (15:45) : TJ Smith Hall Of Fame Handicap (85) 1200m:

Back Me: 2 Mogador (Bet Now: $9.00) is a horse I am keen on here. Talented galloper for Godolphin and Darren Beadman who resumes off the back off a near 12 month break where he performed quite admirably during the Winter Carnival. Trials leading in have been outstanding, both in sharp time, so he has been given a good grounding to win fresh.
Big Danger: 12 Bonny O’Reilly (Bet Now: $3.00) is a very good mare for Bjorn Baker who deserves a crack at blacktype. Trialled sensationally prior to resuming over 1100m here where she was given the box seat steer by Tim Clark before shoving into the clear and finishing best. Comes here with enormous upside and gets Jason Collett, who is very good when combining with Baker.
Long Shot: 11 Wild ‘N’ Famous (Bet Now: $19.00) resumed over this track/distance a fortnight back and you could make a case he nearly should have won the race. Got badly held up when having plenty to offer when running fifth to Untamed Diamond. He has a very good second up record and off that fresh effort, he has to be rated highly here.

Race Nine (16:25) : Light Fingers Hall Of Fame Handicap (78) 1400m:

Back Me: Taking the chance on 9 Dagny (Bet Now: $4.00). I’m happy to forgive her for her last start failure at Canterbury where she was hard in the market and let her supporters down with a below par effort. Given a quiet trial last week and looked pretty good there behind stablemate Gretna. Big watch here first run on home track.
Big Danger: 7 Knit ‘N’ Purl (Bet Now: $9.50) is such a hard mare to follow. The talent is there but she has patches in events where she seems disinterested and doesn’t put it in until it’s over, which is what has happened her past couple, starting at Randwick when flashing home in inferior ground before racing here where she didn’t get much room but finished off with purpose between runners. If she gets things to go her way, she’ll go close.
Long Shot: 13 Firebird Flyer (Bet Now: $21.00) could be the value here in a tough race. This mare three times during the early part of Summer and didn’t quite show us her best. Spelled and looked very sharp in a recent trial win here, and she can sprint well fresh, so I’d watch the market closely with her.
