Form Guide

Going for one at value here in Peck. He resumed with a stunning win at Kembla Grange. He was no closer than 12 lengths off the lead at the 600m but Josh Parr pulled him to the extreme outside and he absolutely rocketed home to get up in the final bound. There is no doubt he rises in grade here but why enter him in a Listed race when he is eligible for easier? Peter Snowden must have an opinion of this horse to run him in this race. He is on the limit, he’ll get back, but he looks the value runner and he has upside.

Mr Unforgettable was given a lovely ride by Jimmy Cassidy to win last start on the bog track at Randwick. He is a horse that needs a wet track and he’ll get that again here. One thing I will say is that Cassidy seems to get the best out of this horse. He is not riding because of commitments in Queensland. No disrespect to Hugh Bowman, but if Cassidy was riding, I’d have him on top.

The blowout horse is Mr Clangtastic. I thought he ran an outstanding race in the Ajax after a 406 day spell when he sat outside the speed and kicking on until the final stages before weakening. If he travels to Queensland he’ll be very competitive but I think he is in with a place chance here. He loves a heavy track and although he probably needs this run, it isn’t a strong field. Put him in your exotics.

Foreteller is another import for Chris Waller that has had one start, for a slashing third behind Mr Unforgettable. He has been unplaced in all three second up runs, but he looks a better horse in Australia and don’t be surprised to see him in the finish. Weighted on the minimum, young gun Brenton Avdulla rides and he is drawn beautifully.

Peck on top, to beat Mr Unforgettable, Mr Clangtastic and Foreteller.
