Tomorrow’s 2010 Mackinnon Stakes looks to be a very good race even though dual Cox Plate winner So You Think is the short priced favourite, the race is run over 2000m and will most likely suit he favourite more so than the second elect Shocking who has an impeccable record at Flemington. So You Think is obviously the horse to beat in the race, he is arguably one of the best horses in the past decade and is still young enough to improve which is scary. He is unbeaten this preparation and last week won the Cox Plate and what looks to be a better field over the 2000m.

Second Selection:
Shocking as mentioned has a very good record at Flemington winning 4 from his 5 starts and finishing 2nd at the other, looks to handle the 2000m well enough as shown in the Turnbull Stakes. Ran on strongly in the Caulfield Cup even with the track conditions that didnt suit. Huge player in the race and i would be very surprised if he doesnt place in this and is the only horse in the race that looks to be able to beat So You Think.
Third Selection:
Ginga Dude ran very well last start at Caulfield beating home the odds on favourite Purple, likes the soft ground and with the rain forcast for tonight and tomorrow may get a track that will suit him. Has good form from NZ and looks to be an improving type, currently at good each way value and is definitely a horse you will want to add to your multiples.
Best Roughie:
Trusting is a very talented galloper, we had him second pick for the Cox Plate last weekend behind So You Think although lost the race when he jumped poorly from the barriers. Will hopefully be a lot fresher from that run as he was pressured to do much and if able to jump well should be coming home down the outside strongly. Currently at $31 and should be included in your selections.
