20/11/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

3 Eyes Never Lie (Bet Now: $2.80 TOP ODDS) looks to have returned in really good order. Market wanted to be with her late when resuming three weeks back and under a peach steer from Stubby, she was miles too good and was dominant. If there is room for improvement, which I think there will be, she’s hard to beat.

2 Arran Bay (Bet Now: $3.30 TOP ODDS) is a little query at 1300m but he comes here as a last start winner. That win was a maiden on the course proper here on Cup Day where he was on speed throughout and though there to be run down, he found under pressure and was too good. Harder here, but upside and in a good camp.

7 Valentigra (Bet Now: $10.00 TOP ODDS) deserves another chance. Team McEvoy filly that was met with good support when resuming three weeks ago but just got a bit too far back in the run and couldn’t make up the required ground when fourth to Eyes Never Lie. Fitter and up in trip, plus the market support fresh, giving her another look.

Last chance territory for 9 Totally Discreet (Bet Now: $2.15 TOP ODDS). Backing up from last Saturday where she ran over this track/distance. Was wide and doing work but found and loomed to win. Just couldn’t quite get there when second to Rising Legend. That run tells me the 1250m is no issue and if that hasn’t busted her, she’ll take a power of beating.

2 Johnny Thunder (Bet Now: $3.90 TOP ODDS) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1000m here, his first run in a few weeks. He loomed to win but lack of hard recent fitness just brought him undone when third. He’ll take good improvement from that and commands respect.

5 Texan Windstorm (Bet Now: $14.00 TOP ODDS) lacks the class of some of these but is honest and should be thereabouts. Narrow second two back at Naracoorte before going to Gawler where he was on speed and battled on pretty well when second to Ashady Past. Doubt he wins but a first four threat.

1 Tequila Time (Bet Now: $3.10 TOP ODDS) is a ripper for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp that returned with a bang two weeks ago, scoring a sharp win at this track/distance after getting the suck run behind the speed and finishing best to win well. With natural improvement off that, he’ll take beating here.

6 Spanish Heirloom (Bet Now: $5.00 TOP ODDS) has sustained speed from the front and that should hold her in good stead as she rises sharply in grade/depth. Last two starts/wins have come at Port Lincoln where she has just been too classy for them. Good test for her here, but while she’s in a purple patch, why not have a crack.

4 Thompson’s Reward (Bet Now: $9.50 TOP ODDS) is an enigma, but is an honest type for David Jolly and more often than not is around the mark. Ran over this track/distance two weeks back when back in the field and did make ground, but never really threatened when fourth to Tequila Time. Could I back him to win? No, but one for multiples.

7 Tahnee Tradition (Bet Now: $4.50 TOP ODDS) is flying for Peter Hardacre and can win this. Bit of quality about her win two back on Murray Bridge Cup Day. Then raced on Cup Day on the course proper here. Got back in the run and was a bit flat footed but picked up and surged hard late to just miss out on picking up Our Deep Agenda, who won last Saturday, so the form reads well and up in trip a big tick.

5 Rialtor (Bet Now: $6.50 TOP ODDS) is knocking on the door to win for Stuart Padman. Attempted to lead throughout two weeks ago here at a good clip and gave a strong kick under Logan. Just couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Addictions. He’ll put himself in a good spot and run his usual honest race.

2 Morty (Bet Now: $12.00 TOP ODDS) is a talented animal for Shayne Cahill that resumes. This guy ended last prep on a high when winning impressively over 1500m at Gawler. Form out of that race has been rank, so that’s a query for him leading into this, but first up at 1300m tells me he’s forward enough to run a positive race fresh. Hopefully the market agrees.

1 Montepulciano (Bet Now: $4.00) is a handy animal for the Jolly camp that should be suited up to 1550m. Resumed over 1300m here a few weeks ago when just off the speed and battled away okay when fourth to Star Of Chaos in what was a bunched finish, which is a concern, but he’s got upside and good form from last prep.

10 Halifax Road (Bet Now: $3.60) looks a good type for Peter Hardacre. Market wanted to be with him when debuting over 1400m at Murray Bridge and the bets were landed as she was dominant in winning. Harder here, but he’s got enormous upside and up to 1550m should suit.

5 Bolt By (Bet Now: $5.00) is a little while between wins but is an honest customer for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp that should be around the mark. Ran three weeks ago and was a bit one paced but kept finding and closed off okay when fourth to Jaamint. His best is certainly good enough.

4 Perfect Route (Bet Now: $2.70) is a Mick Huxtable trained gelding that is ready to win. Ran three weeks ago in the John Letts Cup and stayed on soundly in defeat in a good effort at Stakes level when third to Regalo Di Gaetano, who would be $1.50 here. Back to benchmark grade, he’ll take beating.

8 Wild Imagination (Bet Now: $3.40) is a key threat for me. Team Jolly trained mare that is three weeks between runs since toughing it out strongly to win over 2000m on the course proper here. Hit the front early on in the straight and was there to be run down, but found plenty under pressure and was safely holding her rivals on the peg. Back slightly in trip no issue and form around her reads well.

5 Santelmo Fuego (Bet Now: $11.00) comes back to 1950m from 2500m after winning the Sky Beau Final on Cup Day on the course proper here. In what became a true staying contest, it was this Grant Young tough nut that came out on top. If this becomes another staying contest, a proper contest, he’ll be last man standing.

6 Tullys Gold (Bet Now: $9.50) can be a big improver here. He hasn’t set the world on fire in three runs back from a break, but each of those efforts have come in far stronger races than this, the latest being four weeks ago behind Terbium. He is a track/distance winner, so don’t dismiss him.

7 Chill With Teejay (Bet Now: $3.10) has done little wrong in two runs back from a break and looks ready to win. Both runs back from a break have come over 1200m on the course proper here. First up ran second to Hearty Lass. She then ran well a few weeks ago when second to a very much in form Outpost. That form does read well.

1 Call Me Curtis (Bet Now: $18.00) is suited back to 64 grade for Craig Curtis. He has contested stronger races his past couple and while he hasn’t threatened, he has been far from disgraced each time, the latest a closing effort behind Calypso Reign three weeks back. If he gets luck from the gate, he’s hard to beat.

6 Chosen Blonde (Bet Now: $3.40) for me. You just can’t ignore her first up win at this track/distance two weeks ago. Drifted in the market, but only slightly. The manner in which she produced change up speed and spanked her rivals in sharp time was just so impressive. If she holds that form, never mind natural improvement, she wins again.

4 Ideas Man (Bet Now: $9.00) is a son of Brazen Beau for David Jolly that will put himself on speed and try hard. Took a sit in the race mentioned above and ran well, but was clearly no match for that mare. All things being equal, can’t see him turning the tables, but should be around the mark.

I’m very interested in 7 Appalachian (Bet Now: $5.50), a David Jolly trained gelding that resumes. He is blessed with good talent, but his problem is that he has such an awful racing pattern and will receive more bad luck than good throughout his career, which has been the case in 12 runs to date. He’s a good fresh horse that will want a hot speed in front. If he is within range 400m out, he can win this.

5 Skilled Bunch (Bet Now: $4.60) is a Team Jaensch trained mare that looks hard to beat. Ran in the Happy Trails Final two weeks ago at this track/distance. Got clear and looked the winner, but was bloused out wide by Lil Hank. Not sure what upside there, but only has to hold her form to be around the mark.

3 Thrill Kill (Bet Now: $5.50) has done little wrong this time in for Peter Hardacre and commands respect. Ran over 1250m here a fortnight back and while he was held up for a few strides, overall, he had his chance I thought when third to an in form Tommy Blue. With an economical run in transit, he has the change up speed to win.

11 Perfect Command (Bet Now: $9.50) is a beauty. Got a well deserved metro win on the board two weeks back here, finishing best out wide in a driving go to nail Hypercane on the peg. Harder here, and draws tricky, but he’s a genuine horse who can finish top four in a competitive race.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 4 Perfect Route

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 6 Tullys Gold
