5 Amusing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the hardest to beat for James Cummings after a win here two weeks ago where she gave them a start and a beating, finishing best out wide to win and win well. Good test here against likely types but off that win, she takes beating.

4 Narbold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a first four threat for Chris Waller. He ran two weeks back here behind Amusing wher he got on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late. Perhaps with a bunny to chase, he’ll be better off.

7 Spaceballs (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Ciaron Maher trained mare that ran second at Newcastle last time where she looked the winner a long way out but she just missed in a driving go. Hard fit, her best is clearly good enough.

7 Convergent (Bet Now:  $SP.00) would be an absolute good thing if he drew a gate but even despite being wide out, he’s clearly the one because he just looks the one that could be very good. Won like a really good horse on debut before a game effort in a Midway at Randwick. Two trials since, especially the second trial, indicate he’s flying. Just needs luck from the draw.

5 Cold Brew (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is heading in the right direction for Team Freedman after two wins on the bounce, the latest being at Newcastle when an all the way winner and fo7nd late to win. Good test here but think he can measure up.

11 Pretty Tavi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a mare with talent. She has been solid in two runs back from a spell, the latest coming two weeks back here in the Midway where she seemingly had every chance but was still game in defeat when third. Must for exotics.

All you can do is win and that is what 5 Without Parallel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done in three career outings. She resumed with a strong win at Eagle Farm fortnight back and credit to her, she was on speed and was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off. Good upside/improvement to come, she appeals.

2 First Landing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well for John Sprague and is a key threat. He ran second in the Highway a fortnight back, driving hard in the straight but just found one better in Shropshire Lad. Tricky draw but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

6 Light Infantry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after resuming over 1100m at Hawkesbury where he just found them a bit sharp. He’ll be strong late and has the talent to measure up.

11 Sister Daae (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat after a narrow second here a fortnight back. She got off speed and was held up at times before cutting back inside and drove hard late, just missing out on the win when second to Amusing. Better luck in running, she’ll be hard to hold out.

9 Super Norwest (Bet Now:  $SP.00) stays at 1400m and for mine is dangerous. She ran over 1400m a few weeks back where she got into a decent spot near the speed and presented to win but I just think 1400m at this level found her out. That said, she was good in defeat. She’s in with a shout.

4 African Daisy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. She landed bets at odds when winning the Midway here a few weeks ago. She got into a dream spot behind the speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Like her back up to 1400m and this is a winnable race.

8 Totoka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Paul Perry I think and can take this out at a price. She ran a fortnight back at this track/distance where she was back near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she made up headway and was pretty good behind Useapin. If within range, she has the finale to win.

5 Stardeel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Bjorn Baker after racing last Saturday at Randwick. Not sure he was entirely happy on the heavy track but he kept finding the line in defeat. If that hasn’t busted him, he can bounce back.

10 Sakima (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a capable type. Peter Snowden trained mare that has been freshened up since a down the track effort behind Diddle Dumpling. Tick over trial was good, I wouldn’t dismiss her.

5 Phearson (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is humming for Brad Widdup. He should have gone close to winning the Winter Challenge two weeks ago but had zero luck after the start, being tardy away, then was wide throughout, only getting the stitch late. If he jumps clean, he can settle forward and take a power of beating.

3 Headley Grange (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing in the South Grafton Cup, trying to get into the Big Dance, but the weight impost was a bridge too far. Gets weight relief this time around and he can bounce back.

7 Diamond Diesel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable for Adam Duggan. He ran over 1400m three weeks back at Randwick where he got back from the wide gate and was never a factor but was okay late in the piece behind Getafix. Tick over trial last week was strong and he does have a touch of quality about him.

9 Juja Kibo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have a bit on these now he’s running here and not Flemington. He was an arrogant winner last time out at Sandown, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Getting towards peak fitness and 2000m, he appeals big time.

7 Piggyback (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Ciaron Maher trained mare that is a key threat after her effort behind Aberlour a few weeks back. She was ridden with intent from the wide gate to land on speed and was there to win when asked but just couldn’t quite see it through. I think with a more pateint steer. she can bounce back.

1 Kirkerby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He rs third first up and looked in for a good prep but last start, he was a touch on the flat side. Hard fit, I wouldn’t dismiss him.

5 Rolling Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can bounce back for Team Freedman. He has raced over 1300m here in Midways in both runs back, winning well first up before a down the track effort two weeks ago but he had genuine excuses. Hard fit now, can settle closer in the run, takes beating.

9 Liberty State (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can take this out for Team Hawkes. She ran a few weeks ago over 1400m at Randwick when doing early work from the wide gate and that just told on her late in the piece behind Extraordinaire. Back slightly in trip should be fine and this isn’t an overly deep contest.

2 Elson Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) loves getting his toe in and despite failing to fire this time in, he does get conditions to suit. He was the real find around this time last year and does thrive on wet ground so don’t dismiss.

12 Yoshinobu (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Team Archibald trained gelding that was an impressive winner here last time out, giving them a start and a beating in a pretty strong performance. He’s right down in the weights, wet ground is fine…hard to beat.

Fitter and up to 1300m are two big ticks for 9 Bunker Hut (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who resumed over 1200m here a few weeks back. He did early work to land on speed and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Cloudland, condition just giving way. Better set up here, he appeals.

5 Astero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a swimmer and the small field helps his cause. He has been freshened up since a down the track effort in the Winter Stakes but a recent trial was strong and with conditions to suit, he’s dangerous.

10 Herbert Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1100m after racing at the midweeks over 1000m at Sandown where she got back off speed and kept chasing without threatening behind Rattle And Bang. Better for the run, better set up here, she’s dangerous.

5 Hanau (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs and joins Mick Minervini after racing with James Cummings. His latest run was July 9 where he gave them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Good test here, but think he measures up.

The wet track I hate for 8 Catch The Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but I know she has the engine under the hood. She resumed here a few weeks back and just found them too sharp in a hot sprint. Better set up here, she appeals.
