19/4/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Ascot, WATC Derby day

7 Niccimota (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town for Jim Taylor off the back of a win down the straight at Pinjarra, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively. Good racing style for the short course and is hard fit. She’ll do me here.

1 Keep Ita Mystery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a freshen up since a track/distance win on March 15 when giving them a start and a beating to win impressively. Creeping up in the relative weights but he has class and that will carry him a long way.

6 Rise To Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1200m here last Saturday when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Sixinch Heels. Back in trip I like and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

2 Deltason (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was going to be hard to beat last Saturday in the Perth Stakes buy he played up in the gates and was a late scratching. He has been a real eye catcher in two career outings and despite the tricky gate, I think he’s clearly the one to beat here.

8 Perfect Sister (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Gingerbread Man that is on debut for Dan Morton. She trialled late last month over 1000m at Belmont when running fourth and seemingly moved quite well. Stable can get them ready for the debut so watch betting.

5 Blow Me Kisses (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Luke Fernie trained filly that resumes after debuting here in the Spring when leading and feeling the pinch late behind Talkanco. Given a good break, trialled well and will press forward. Knockout hope.

5 Prospector’s Pick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to rock and roll first up. He had a two run prep in the Spring, winning fresh before a down the track effort at Kalgoorlie. Spelled, given a good break and has trialled up like a rocket in readiness for the return. Keen to be in his corner.

3 Tawkin Jibberish (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late. She should be around the mark.

8 On The Full (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has run well at Ascot previously and is a first four threat. He res7med down the straight at Pinjarra when near the speed and tried hard but condition gave out late. Not sure he wins but he can run top four.

3 Bondi Plunge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat for Dan Morton off the back of a placing over this track/distance at the midweeks where she tried her guts out, but just missed out on the win in a tight go. Better for the run under the belt, kind map in her corner, she rates highly.

4 Let’s Talk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Ascot for Jim Taylor after a first up win at Belmont where he was backed as if unbeatable and duly saluted to win and win well. Had trialled super leading in so keen to see how he goes at this level.

6 My Lovely Pet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran two weeks back at this track/distance in a similar race when near the speed and he tried hard but just didn’t quite have the finale to get there behind Jaz Session. Not sure he is good enough to win but a must for exotics.

3 Western Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well and should take beating. He resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance where he was full of running but got badly held up in behind when seemingly having something to offer, if the breaks go his way, he can take this out.

10 Pure Obsession (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He comes straight to town off the back of a maiden win over 1300m at Pinjarra where he got the suck run in behind and finished best to score. Big step up in grade/depth but he does look promising.

8 Hammarmill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been strong in two runs back and is racing like she will appreciate a rise to 1400m. Both runs have come over 1200m, the latest seeing her settle off speed but was good late in the piece. Hard fit now, she is one of the leading contenders.

4 Machine Gun Gracie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been the dominant 2000m+ 3YO in WA and she can confirm it with a Derby win here. She was oh so arrogant in the Oaks two weeks ago, getting better as the race went on. She looks to be holding her form, no sign of going backwards…I think good luck beating her.

1 Sail Session (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the dominant male and has to be respected. He won the Melvista a fortnight back, knuckling down with purpose late to score. 2400m should be fine snd if the gun filly is off her game, he’ll be there to pick up the pieces.

5 Noahquintilly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a must for exotics. She ran third in the Oaks where she seemingly had her chance but she stayed on and was sound in defeat. Not sure she wins but she can run top four for sure.

9 Correct Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well for Michael Grantham and should take beating here off the back of a win over this track/distance four weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Lands in a great spot from the gate and strikes another winnable race.

7 Blazing Emerald (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here a fortnight back when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Fine Touch. Perhaps with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

8 Catch These Hands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 1600m after racing over 1400m two weeks back here in his first run for Mitch Pateman. He got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort in defeat behind Angel Undercover. Better set up here, not penning him.

1 Ginnivan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets another chance for me. I was keen on him first up three weeks ago in the Rock Magic but he copped too much heat on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Jokers Grin. Back to 1000m and back to benchmark grade, he’s going to take beating.

3 All Play (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented animal for Trevor Andrews that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Jan 18 when an impressive winner over 1100m here, making it three on the bounce before being spelled. Trial leading in has been great and he’ll be strong late.

9 Golden Vale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented filly for Simon Miller that comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m here on Feb 22 when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when a close up third to Watch Me Rock. Fresh legs, 1000m, good track/distance record, she’s in the mix.

1 Keep Attacking (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Williams trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 14 when a track/distance winner, finishing best after getting a beaut run in transit. Looked strong in a recent Pinjarra trial and does being a class edge here.

2 Silver Eye (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Adam Durrant since racing at this track/distance when wide no cover for the trip snd felt the pinch late behind Siberian Siren. Better run in transit here, he’s a definite threat.

8 Madame Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Pearce trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Perth Cup Day over the mile here when just failing to see out the trip behind I Dreamed A Dream. She is a mare who can sprint well fresh and went like a rocket in a recent Belmont trial win.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 2 Deltason

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 3 Western Power
