18/9/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Gold Coast, Pink Ribbon Cup day

I’m with 12 A River Somewhere (Bet Now: $3.20). Tony Gollan trained mare that resumed at Doomben a few weeks ago. She was absolutely smashed in betting and #TeamThey got it spot on. She had a suck run behind them before getting clear air and away she went. She was impressive and if she can hold that, never mind naturally improve, she’ll take a power of beating.

4 Ruuca (Bet Now: $3.40) has the engine under the hood to give this a shake. Team Edmonds trained gelding that resumed at Doomben a few weeks ago where he got a fair way back in the run and while he did make up ground, he was never a threat to The Move. If he can sit closer in the run, he’ll be dangerous.

7 Deference (Bet Now: $11.00) is a huge market/yard watch. Formerly with James Cummings, he now finds himself with Gillian Heinrich and this stable has had success with these Godolphin cast offs. Just one trial to get ready, but has trialled very well and Jimmy Orman is a man in really good form.

4 Hellava Babe (Bet Now: $26.00) is on the quick back up for Brenton Andrew after racing last Saturday night at Toowoomba where the mare just lost sight of the bunny, spotting those in front way too much head start, but finished off her race with real purpose. That was her first run in a few weeks so you’d like to think there is room for improvement and has run well on the back up before when finding dry ground, which is what she’ll get here.

5 Top Order (Bet Now: $4.40) has been up forever it seems like but gee he’s racing well. Lovely ride by Taylor Marshall saw him bolt up two weeks ago at Eagle Farm, slicing his way through the field and finishing best to win and win well. Only has to hold his form to go close again.

7 Sciconic (Bet Now: $6.50) is a Team Freedman trained gelding who has been thereabouts this prep and a win wouldn’t totally shock at all. He ran fourth to Top Order at Eagle Farm a fortnight back. He was back off the speed before peeling wider and looming to win, but couldn’t quite finish it off. Reckon getting away from Eagle Farm will help his cause.

1 Rhapsody Rose (Bet Now: $2.90) has the class factor and that will take her a long way here. Resumed over 1000m at Eagle Farm when doing work in the run but that being said, was expecting a bit more from her late when a tiring fourth. Fitter and up in trip, I think she deserves another chance.

3 Rubiquitous (Bet Now: $4.20) has to stretch out to 1100m, but the Gold Coast 1100m isn’t as demanding as other tracks, so that should be okay. Won the race mentioned above and I thought he showed good ticker late when challenged to fend them off and get the win. Off that, I think the extra trip is fine and is hard to beat.

4 Gemelon Bolt (Bet Now: $8.00) should be suited back to 1100m for Chris Anderson. Bit disappointing over 1000m first up. He then stepped up to 1200m and loomed to win, but I reckon the six furlongs just found him out late. Back in trip is a positive I feel and his best is certainly good enough.

8 The Move (Bet Now: $1.95) looks like he could be a sneaky chance to head south for the Spring if he keeps progressing the way he is. Backed with real confidence when resuming three weeks back at Doomben and the bets were landed. Sat on speed and once he was clicked up, the change up speed was impressive and he dashed right away. Confident he goes close here.

3 Tavisan (Bet Now: $9.00) is a talented sprinter for Kris Lees that can make it 2/2 for the new stable. Was formerly with the Price/Kent team in Melbourne before being sent to Lees. First run for the stable came at the Sunny Coast where he was expected to win and duly saluted. Short course is his go in life so 900m here is ideal.

4 King Klaus (Bet Now: $10.00) has done little wrong this time in, winning 2/2. Tough win first up at Eagle Farm before going to the Sunny Coast where he copped heat in front but kicked, fended them off and clung on to win and win well. Good test for him here, but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

10 Irish Sequel (Bet Now: $7.00) looks to be in for a really good prep. Chris Waller trained import that resumed over 1400m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, finishing off with real purpose late and just missing out on picking up Ocean Treaty. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals big time.

11 Ocean Treaty (Bet Now: $4.50) should love the rise in trip for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. Won the race mentioned above where she was ridden a treat by Thornton and in a driving go, finished best. Proven at the track/distance and should lob into a lovely spot from the draw. Hard to beat.

6 I Could Do Better (Bet Now: $19.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Doomben when off the speed and tried hard. Just lacked the turn of foot to be right in the finish behind Rebel Rock. He has won at the track/distance and this does look a winnable race.

2 Weona Smartone (Bet Now: $1.45) could earn himself a trip down south if he keeps winning and winning impressively. Looked a good thing when resuming three weeks ago at Doomben and despite winning narrowly, the win had merit given he was on speed and a solid tempo, showing good ticker late to fend them off. Hard to beat.

3 Tramonto (Bet Now: $3.30) looks the only other winning hope, genuine winning hope anyway. Class got him home fresh before going to the Goldmarket here when a game and close up second to Desert Lord. I’d consider Desert Lord a much better horse than stablemate Weona Smartone, so he’s right in this.

4 Ditmas (Bet Now: $15.00) has a fab record on his home track and he returns here. Three weeks between runs since a strong effort from near last when a close up third to Weona Smartone in that race mentioned above. Drawn wide, but if he’s within range on the turn, he can win.

4 Miami Fleiss (Bet Now: $1.45) is a smart animal for Tony Gollan and is a leading contender with race fitness under the belt. Backed as if unbeatable when racing at Doomben three weeks ago and the bets were landed in a dominant all the way triumph. Good test here, but confident she measures up.

1 Champagne Aunty (Bet Now: $7.50) is a beauty for Steve Tregea that is looking to make it five wins on the bounce and I don’t see why she can’t win again. The break between runs is a little query, but she’s a very genuine mare that is a line chaser, knows where the post is, and will be strong late. Hard to beat.

3 Archanna (Bet Now: $15.00) is first up here for Chris Waller and I think she’s dangerous. She brings some very strong Sydney form this way and any hint of it being produced here, she likely wins, so the market will be fascinating, but some of her better career efforts have come fresh, so watch the yard and market.

2 Morethannumberone (Bet Now: $2.15) is a progressive gelding for Michael Costa that should measure up here. Narrow second to Lasting Kiss at Doomben two back, beaten a lip. He then went to the Gold Coast where he was backed with confidence and under a lovely ride from Mallyon, he was far too good. Harder here, but confident he goes close with luck from the draw.

9 Neutron (Bet Now: $3.40) is a son of Starcraft for Kacy Fogden resuming and I’d say is a key threat here. He hasn’t raced since May 26 when a strong winner at Doomben over 1350m in what looked a tidy Class 1 on paper, but the form out of it has been suspect, so that’s a concern, but trained on the track and has trialled well, plus sprints well fresh.

7 Enrique (Bet Now: $23.00) is a talented animal for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp that resumes. He did a really good job when last in work, winning two races and last run, was four lengths off Incentivise. Better suited over a bit further, but stable is in form and like that he resumes at 1400m, not 1200m.

1 Catesby (Bet Now: $14.00) is a beauty for Grant Allard and he can make it three on the bounce. Loved the way he toughed it out to win two back at Doomben before going to Eagle Farm last Wednesday where led up the small field and was just too strong. Likely leads this field up and will give a bold sight.

2 Run For Glory (Bet Now: $3.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Attempted to lead most of the way three weeks ago at Doomben and looked home when he booted clear, only to be nabbed late by Ballistic Boy, who won last Saturday, so the form reads well and third up, should be hard fit now. Appeals.

3 Tokoriki Lad (Bet Now: $8.00) might need one more but I thought his resumption was more than encouraging. That came at Eagle Farm two weeks back when an eye catcher at the end behind Genzai The Wolf. May need one more, but does like the Gold Coast and has more upside than most.
