Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville Parks this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; True for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:07) Fleurieu Milk Company Mdn Plate 1300m
1 Artillery (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a nice horse for Michael Hickmott and I think he can make a winning debut. He has had a couple of trials in readiness for start one, the latest trial being a win last week at Gawler where he moved really nicely and although the time was nothing flash, he had plenty up the sleeve I feel. Hard to beat here on debut.
8 Six Stars (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Team Jolly. He ran at Gawler on Anzac Day where he got badly held up at a crucial stage when it came to getting clear, but that said, he did get clear air in enough time and just battled late in the piece. The first up run was strong so he’s a threat for mine.
11 Lofonia (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for John Hyam. This filly debuted over 1100m at Bordertown where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she found the line with purpose in a strong effort behind Hey Mikki. Has good upside to come, she’s a knockout hope.
Race 2. (12:42) Sportsbet Fast Form (Bm74) 1550m
3 Worsfold (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take beating here for Nick Ryan. He ran during the Bool Carnival where he got back to near last in the run, against the pattern, and while he did make up ground, he was never really a threat behind Jabbawockeez. Back miles in depth here and firmer footing, if he’s within range, I think he’ll take beating.
1 Alpine Flyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the class of the field and gets in well after the claim. She is five weeks between runs since racing over 1500m on the course proper here in a Listed race when far from disgraced in defeat behind the very much in form Chicago Storm. Hard to beat, especially with the 3kg claim.
5 Jenkins (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He is five weeks between runs for Phillip Stokes since racing over the mile on the course proper here when back near last in the run and spotted those in front a decent start but I really liked the way he found the line late behind Typhoon Harmony. Break between runs is fine and he likes the Parks track. Appeals.
Race 3. (13:17) The Fotobase Group (Rs1ly) 1400m
6 East Indiaman (Bet Now: $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down. Tough win two weeks ago on the course proper here. He was there to be beaten but gee he found under pressure, lifted late and was strong to the line in winning. He was a month between runs and does tend to race best on the Parks track. He’ll take beating.
9 Annihilate (Bet Now: $SP.00) should love getting back to 1400m. Dominant win at this trip two back at Balaklava before going to 1500m two weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and did make up headway but was never really threatening behind East Indiaman. Back to this level and back to his pet trip, he appeals.
10 Rubini (Bet Now: $SP.00) can run an improved race at odds. He ran behind East Indiaman two weeks back over 1500m on the course proper here. He had a ground saving steer from just off the speed so he had his chance but was a bit on the plain side late in the piece. He can run an improved race with this better set up IMO.
Race 4. (13:52) Pfd Food Services Hcp (C2) 1000m
2 Esseffninety (Bet Now: $SP.00) will need luck from the draw, but if she does, I think she has a bit on these. Kennewell/Yeomans trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Jan 6 at the Gold Coast when far from disgraced in a very strong race won by Junqueira, who is Stakes class, so the form reads very well. Jumpout work has been strong and is the winner with luck from the draw.
9 Kinetic Jewel (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an above average filly for Phillip Stokes that resumes and I think she can resume a winner. She kicked off her career in the Spring and was strong each time she stepped out, winning a couple of races and showing good promise. Looks to have trialled up really well leading in, seemingly matured, and for mine, she is the one with the most upside/progression.
5 Cool The Jets (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver for Team Blanch. He resumed three weeks back on the course proper here where he paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out when down the track behind a nice mare, Aviatress, who would be odds on against these, so that form should read very well for this. He’s fitter and his best is more than good enough.
Race 5. (14:27) Sportsbet Nobody Does It Easier (Bm76) 1950m
9 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a ripper for Richards/Moyle and does love racing on the Parks track. She ran behind Sir Kingsford two weeks back, where she was near the speed throughout and tried her guts out but just lacked the change up speed to finish the job behind the all the way winner. Up in trip, loves the track, she’s in with a shout.
7 Ammo Amor (Bet Now: $SP.00) is nearing a win. He ran fourth to Sir Kingsford a fortnight back. He settled back off the speed and took a little while to wind into his work but was pretty good in the run to the line when fourth. Has upside to come, he’ll be strong late and can settle much closer in the run.
6 Does It (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Team Jolly trained gelding that hasn’t raced since April 20 when back near last and did make up ground but was never really a threat behind Hoops. Tick over trial last week was strong and this race has thinned out after the scratching of Sir Kingsford.
Race 6. (15:02) Triple M (Bm64) 1250m
8 El Capony (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Jason Warren, he now finds himself with the Bain/Taylor camp, a stable that are fast becoming one of the best in SA when it comes to a tried horse and improving them. This mare showed good promise in Victoria and didn’t mind her recent trial behind a nice horse, Wally West. Watch the market.
9 Episodic (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for Clarken/O’Shea and should take beating against these. This mare is 2/2 this time in, the latest win being four weeks ago over 1250m here where she got into a lovely spot near the speed before angling clear and she let down with real purpose in the straight, drawing clear to win and win well. Confident she can measure up.
3 Declared (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable of blowing this field away with his best. He ran three weeks back on the course proper here when wide throughout and tried hard but lacked the class to go with them late behind Aviatress. Back to this level of class of horse is ideal, he has run well on the Parks track and can settle closer.
Race 7. (15:42) Sportsbet (Bm80) 1000m
7 Wonderwomen (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Bain/Taylor trained mare that resumed four weeks ago at this track/distance where she was near the strong speed and being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece behind Magic Max. Tick over trial was sharp, fitter, maps perfect, genuine…happy to be in her corner.
3 Magic Max (Bet Now: $SP.00) is suited back to this level. He won the race mentioned above before backing up a week later in the John Hawkes when outclassed, finishing down the track behind Extremely Lucky. Better suited here and with good speed in front, he’ll sit back and launch at them late.
8 Classy Kenny (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a beauty for Hickmott/Riggs and has to be respected after winning on the course proper here a fortnight back, giving them a start and a beating, launching late to finish best. He continued that good first up record and does run well on the Parks track. Leading contender.
Race 8. (16:22) Thomas Farms Hcp (64) 1300m
4 Chambers Bay (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. Phillip Stokes trains this guy, who comes back to town after a dominant win last Wednesday at Gawler where he gave them a start and a beating, launching late to finish over the top for a big win. Has run well in town before, he commands respect.
3 Merchant Boss (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Travis Doudle trained gelding that resumed at Murray Bridge at the midweeks where he attempted to lead throughout and he gave a decent enough kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to King Moya. Lands on speed and that racing style is suited to the Parks track. Appeals.
16 Set On You (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key threat for me. Ryan Balfour trained mare that is a few weeks between runs since racing at Gawler on Anzac Day when back, wide with cover, and found the line well enough without threatening behind Fourth Power. The run prior here was a beauty behind Jazz Affair and off that, she’s going to take beating.
Race 9. (17:00) Sportsbet Same Race Multi Hcp (64) 1550m
1 Maracourt (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a class edge and I’ll bank on that getting him home in the get out. Michael Hickmott trained gelding that ran two weeks ago on the course proper here. He got back to near last in the run and spotted those in front too much head start but I really liked the way he found the line late behind East Indiaman. Good luck beating him if he can settle closer.
4 Alfano (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks like he is enjoying life under the care of Bain/Taylor. This guy had his first run for the stable at Murray Bridge over 1400m when near the speed throughout and he presented to win in the straight but being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece when a narrow second to The Cassini. Fitter, upside, he appeals.
12 Free Vino (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found positive form and he can go on with it. He ran third at Murray Bridge last time where he got back in the run and was held up at times before eventually getting clear and found the line with real purpose to finish third. If he can settle closer in the run, he’s going to take beating.
