A six race card has been assembled for Wyong on Wednesday for Magic Millions Day. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Tricky race to start the day. 5 Django Dream (Bet Now: $12.00) is a very interesting runner. Jean Dubois trains this year old, who debuts here and think he finds a thin race for start one. Two trials to get ready haven’t been too bad and what I’ve liked is that when he has been pushed out, he has responded. He’ll need luck from the gate but think this race is well within reach for him.

3 Castlecomer (Bet Now: $5.00) is third up here for Chris Waller and should just about be at peak fitness. Ran over the mile at Gosford last start when ridden more positively to be near the speed throughout and he battled away well but had his chance when fifth to Ruddock. This race has little depth, so he doesn’t need to improve too much to figure in the finish.

Giving respect to 4 Clear Blonde (Bet Now: $5.50). Comes back to the mile after racing over 1870m at Newcastle last time out in a race where it was a real sit/sprint, a set up she didn’t like, and failed to come on in a dash home won by Seduction Queen. Prior form was good and back to the mile, think she’ll go close.

1 Jesse James (Bet Now: $1.65) will need luck from the barrier, but on form and class, he does look to have a margin on these and all things being equal, should be winning. Loved his first up run when an eye catching second to Gosford. Then went to Canterbury and against the track pattern battled on well behind Tycoonist. Bad luck is the only thing beating him now he’s hard fit and up to 1350m.

3 Jana (Bet Now: $3.70) looks the only real threat on paper and she would be the saver. Was second up when racing at this track/distance last time out. Just got too far back in the run from the wide gate but loved the way she closed off when a narrow second to Yukon, who was beaten at Kembla on Saturday, but the form out of that maiden overall has been good. Gets the good draw and an in form Rachel King.

2 Chateaux Park (Bet Now: $6.00) was scratched from a much easier race a few days ago to be saved for this. Jason Coyle trained gelding that resumed over 1300m at Canberra and liked the way he found the line late in the piece when third to Always Sure. He likely gets the back of Jesse James and could get last look on him. Just needs to improve a length or two.

I have to give 6 Count De Rupee (Bet Now: $4.60) a chance here. The Price team trains this three year old and I think he deserves a crack in this kind of race. He didn’t beat much fresh at Kembla, but the manner in which he put them away despite doing work in the run, plus the time he ran, suggests he’s a good colt. He gets the suck run behind the speed and has a turn of foot. Keen on him running well.

5 Barbaric (Bet Now: $2.90) is the obvious query here. Team Snowden trained colt that hasn’t raced since winning the Black Opal at Canberra during the Autumn. Dodged the Spring for the Magic Millions and his recent trial win suggests the extra time off has done him the world of good. Looks in great order and gets J Mac to steer.

1 Animate (Bet Now: $23.00) is a fascinating runner. Son of Animal Kingdom for Kris Lees that didn’t really fire a shot in three runs during the early part of the Spring, which followed a promising Autumn prep where he was far from disgraced in the Provincial Championship Final. Recent Newcastle trial was more than encouraging. Knockout chance.

Think this is really good placement by Richard Litt with 1 Wander (Bet Now: $6.50), who has been racing in town at his past few and the last couple, he’s had little to no luck. Last start at Warwick Farm, doubt he would have won, but should have finished much closer. Nash was trying to build the revs and the run was just about there but he got chopped and had to be throttled down late. Better luck this time around and I think he can win.

5 On Her Word (Bet Now: $3.10) is a talented daughter of Benfica for Bec Dunn that resumes. Hasn’t raced since October 2019 at Gosford when a good, closing second to Brazenpine. If you go through her form, gee it reads well for a race like this and her recent trial win at Gosford was most encouraging. Think she’s hard to beat, but market will be the guide.

12 Mosht Up (Bet Now: $13.00) is racing quite well at the moment. Was 1200m back to 1100m when racing at Gosford last time out and I liked the way she found the line late in the piece when a close up third to Ready To Soar. Should park off the good speed and be strong late, especially with the claim for young Schiller.

I’m going with 11 She’s All Class (Bet Now: $5.50). Daughter of I Am Invincible for Chris Waller that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since her debut in the Victory Vein when leading at a good clip and trying hard. Just felt the pinch late third to impressive winner Captivant. Liked her recent trial, draws well, J Mac steers and is bred to handle wet ground.

1 Astrologer (Bet Now: $5.00) has the runs on the board in terms of race experience given he debuted with an eye catching third in the Breeders Plate at Randwick during the Spring behind impressive winner Shaquero. Given a good hitout to win his recent trial. He’ll need luck from the gate, but is in the right camp.

5 Alice Through (Bet Now: $15.00) is a James Cummings trained filly that has to be respected. She comes through a red hot 2YO race at Newcastle won by Vianello. Red hot in the sense that they smashed the clock relative to the meeting and to the class. She’s in the right stable, should improve off that and is a definite winning chance.

8 Benfica Maid (Bet Now: $10.00) can be a bit hit and miss but this does look a lovely race for her. In the form guide, it will say last start at Nowra she finished 6/10, beaten just under six lengths. I think had she got a clear path throughout, she nearly wins. She was building momentum really nicely on the corner and went for the inside run, but the gap was shut out by a tiring Highly Desired, and she lost all hope. Gets Tim Clark steering and is proven on wet ground.

9 Onemore Sapphire (Bet Now: $3.50) rises sharply in depth, but Tracey Bartley has done a fab job with him in a couple of runs for the stable since formerly being with Terry Evans. Looked a good thing on paper last time out at Tuncurry and was ridden accordingly by Bullock, who gave him a peach and he bolted up. Harder here, but gets the inside gate and loves wet ground.

2 Foxborough (Bet Now: $4.80) is the class runner of the field and that will carry her a long way towards victory here. John Sargent trained mare that has been freshened up, having not raced since November 21 when down the track at Kembla on Gong Day behind Bigboyroy. Tick over trial was quite good and she’s a mare who does save her best for tracks with give in them.

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 5 Django Dream
