16/11/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

3 Klabel (Bet Now: $4.80) deserves another chance. He was backed as if unbeatable when resuming here two weeks ago but he was terrible. He was a beaten horse at the top of the straight and was beaten just under five lengths as a $1.55 favourite. I think he’s too good of a horse to pen off one poor run.

2 Rockstar Meggsy (Bet Now: $3.70) won the race mentioned above and she bounced back to what she did fresh when winning impressively. She sat last before being presented wider and came with a powerful finale. Likely gets a same ride again and should be strong late.

4 Zufasta (Bet Now: $8.50) is heading in the right direction and is a definite winning chance. Dominant maiden win over 1100m here two weeks back where he had the suck run in behind them before angling clear and finishing best to win impressively. Harder here, but think he can measure up.

4 Crypto Currency (Bet Now: $5.00) on top for me. Matty Seyers trained gelding that is hard to catch at times but he is a horse who loves to get his toe into the ground and there is forecast for rain on Saturday, which is music to his ears given that is the set up here got here on Cup Day when leading throughout and making a mess of them. Hard to beat with a repeat effort.

5 Pitrain (Bet Now: $4.20) is absolutely flying for Team Jaensch. He ran at Gawler last Sunday and was very good from the back, closing off with purpose when second to Prince Tikea. Tricky gate to overcome, but gets in nicely after the claim and back up to 1800m should be ideal.

8 Comfort Girl (Bet Now: $14.00) looks ready to win. Just depends what rain, if any, hits on Saturday. I was keen on her on Cup Day but the rain came, the track was shifty and she just couldn’t put them away late. I think if the track remains on the firmer side, she’s going well enough to win.

4 Obi (Bet Now: $2.60) is a hard horse to catch but I think he finds a very winnable race. Resumed over 1100m here two weeks ago where he had the suck run behind the speed before angling clear and looked the winner, but was nabbed on the peg by Disco Tilmorn. Fitter, up to 1200m and back in depth, he’s the pony to bet on.

7 Ultimate Victory (Bet Now: $9.50) can be hit and miss at times but his best is certainly good enough to be around the mark. Race shape wasn’t to his liking at Naracoorte last time but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off when third to Hi Smokey. If he’s within range on the turn, he’s good enough to win.

8 Classy Kenny (Bet Now: $16.00) can run an improved race. He was down the track a few weeks back behind Bamyan Buddha and I am totally forgiving of that effort given he was ridden completely upside down, ridden quite warm, and he tired late. Ridden with a sit, he can run a much improved race.

5 Busker’s Ballad (Bet Now: $8.50) has found positive form now and I think he can hold it. He was good late without threatening behind Oath Of Omerta two back before racing here again on Cup Day where he was ridden closer and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Make It A Double. Like him up to 2500m and this is a winnable race.

1 Sebonna (Bet Now: $7.00) did the right thing by us last Saturday and happy include again. Logan McNeil gave him a peach steer last Saturday on the Parks track and the patient steer won the race for the gelding, who has come back in super order. Creeping up in the weights, but has a class edge.

13 Space Equity (Bet Now: $81.00) is a horse I couldn’t back to win but he could sneak a first four spot. He ran over 2250m on the Parks track last timne out and while he was never really a winning threat, he stuck to the task pretty well in defeat when third to Sebonna. That form, I think, reads well eniugh for this.

3 Rich Gina (Bet Now: $3.60) is flying for Team Blanch and is hard to beat here. She has won two on the bounce, both coming here. Latest win was three weeks ago when finishing off with purpose and proving too good for a Stakes performed mare in Smokin’ Val. That reads well for this and the extra 50m is no issue.

8 Old Time Rock (Bet Now: $16.00) is flying for Andrew Clarken and appeals here. He ran over this track/distance on Cup Day and worked to the line strongly from off the speed but just couldn’t quite get there when when second to Jean Valjean. That was his first run in a tick over three weeks, so you’d think there is room for improvement.

11 Sophina Diva (Bet Now: $91.00) is racing really well for Karen Letts-Maund and is a knockout chance here. Got the beaut inside run to win two back at Strathalbyn before going to Gawler on Sunday and was good from near the speed when fourth to Starsongari. Has done well on the back up before and is genuine.

3 Point Blaze (Bet Now: $7.50) to bounce back. Shayne Cahill trained mare that was a total forgive from two weeks ago when three and four wide for the trip and the hard run told late behind Lady Simone. She’s going really well this mare and with better luck in running, she can bounce back into the winners list.

6 Wild Imagination (Bet Now: $7.00) is knocking on the door to win one. Looked like it would come two back but was nabbed near the peg by stablemate Somewatt Fabulous before racing again a fortnight back here and surged hard late, just missing out on the win when second to another stablemate, Lady Simone. Hard fit now, clearly rates highly.

5 Lady Simone (Bet Now: $11.00) should land near the speed and prove hard to get past. That was the case two weeks back here when on speed and was there to be run down but found under pressure and was too good, just. She was only second up there, so you’d like to think there is room for improvement.

8 Howl (Bet Now: $18.00) has an awful habit of missing the kick, but if he can step away cleanly and be within range on the turn, he has the finale to wear them down. Bombed the start two weeks ago here but even allowing for that, nothing was beating Philonize, who ran the time of a Group l horse. That should be a red hot form race, so happy to give Howl a chance.

2 I Am Bene (Bet Now: $4.20) is creeping up in the relative weights but she is the class of the field. Race was set up for her three weeks ago but she did show good ticker late to fend off Manhattan Times to win. That was her first run in several weeks, so you’d think there is room for improvement.

6 Legless Lady (Bet Now: $20.00) is hard fit now and should be suited up to 1200m. She ran in the Philonize race from two weeks back where she was run off her legs from the outset, like most engaged, but worked to the line pretty well, albeit ten lengths from the winner. Like her up in trip and is a definite threat.

3 Montign (Bet Now: $3.90) is a good horse for Stuart Padman. Not much went his way two back in the Murray Bridge Cup but he made amends for it in the Gawler Cup, sprouting wings late to drive hard and win. He’s got a booming finish on him and will be quite strong late against these.

5 Morty (Bet Now: $8.50) commands respect. Bless his heart from a fortnight back in the John Letts Cup when given a 12/10 steer by Toeroek and in a driving go, was able to finish best over an in form mare, The Map. I don’t see the mile being an issue for him and he has the runs on the board.

2 Bold Star (Bet Now: $12.00) is on the seven day back up for the Richards/Moyle camp after racing last Saturday on the Parks track where he was back on a day where up/in was the spot to be so didn’t mind the way he finished his race off behind Hopon Harry. He’s racing like 1600m suits and a win wouldn’t entirely shock.

8 Ballroom Dancer (Bet Now: $9.00) has come back in super order for Dion Koch. Definite pass mark fresh behind the in form Magic Phantom before having a mini let up. She then went to Strathalbyn when back off the speed but came with a well timed run and she gapped them late in dominant fashion. Hard fit now, with upside, ahe appeals.

1 Hypercane (Bet Now: $6.50) has the class edge to give this a shake. First run for the Searle/Callanan camp came at Balaklava where he was somewhat unwanted in betting but had the suck run near the speed and finished best to win well. Up to the mile is fine and has good upside compared to most.

10 Scarlet River (Bet Now: $31.00) is a first four contender. Ryan Balfour trained mare that was a dominant winner two back at Mindarie-Halidon before going to Balaklava where she got back to near last in the run and was never really a threat behind Hypercan. Massive jockey upgrade and I think the rise to the mile suits.

BEST BET: Race Three Number 4 Obi

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 3 Montign

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 8 Howl
