16/10/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

Ten races will be run and won at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out 3.5 metres for the entire circuit.

4 Ciccina (Bet Now: $1.95) is a progressive mare for Kris Lees that can win again. Three weeks between runs since recording a strong win at the Gold Coast, landing big bets in the process. Off last start, the extra 100m should be fine for her and overall, I think this is a very winnable race.

2 Vendidit (Bet Now: $4.00) is a consistent animal for Team Guy that shouldn’t be too far away. Loomed to win over the mile at Doomben two weeks ago and for a few strides looked the winner, but couldn’t quite get the job done and had to settle for a narrow second to Our Rebel. That form reads well for this.

5 The Dark (Bet Now: $5.00) is on the seven day back up for Scott Morrisey after racing last Saturday over 1400m here. He was a few weeks between runs and got a fair way back in the run but liked the way he finished his race off behind Enterprise Keren. Fitter and up to 1500m, he appeals.

5 Hattusa (Bet Now: $4.40) is on debut here for Helen Page and is in with a shout off two encouraging trials. Latest trial came a couple of weeks back at the Gold Coast. She sat back off the speed nearer the inside and closed off well under minimal pressure behind Golden Artie. That horse ran well last Saturday, so I’m respecting that trial form here.

7 Modele (Bet Now: $3.10) is a Kelly Schweida trained filly that is having start one. Trialled last Tuesday at Deagon where she moved quite well to the eye in the 650m trial and won nicely with something in hand. Tricky draw, but has the early speed to carve across and stable should always be respected with their juveniles.

1 Mishani Persuasion (Bet Now: $4.00) gets the Blinkers on first time and has race experience under the belt. Debuted two weeks back at Doomben when well off the speed and never really a winning factor but his finale was more than sound in defeat. Good gate, Blinkers on, an improved showing is on the cards.

2 Irish Sequel (Bet Now: $2.25) is heading in the right direction for Chris Waller and he can win again. Strong ride from Jim Byrne saw him bolt up at Doomben two weeks ago, being strong to the line and through it over 2000m, suggesting 2200m here will be ideal and has more to come I’d suggest.

1 Bajan Gold (Bet Now: $5.50) is working up to a win for Cody Morgan. Far from disgraced in Country Cups up north. Then went to Doomben and finished her race off quite well in defeat when second to Irish Sequel. I think the rise back up to 2200m suits and he can win this for sure.

9 Taaffeite (Bet Now: $18.00) is a progressive mare for Matty Dunn that is heading in the right direction. Month between runs since racing at this track/distance when near the speed and tried hard, but couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Fu Ni. Rises in class/depth, but upside and down in the weights.

9 Salateen (Bet Now: $2.30) looks a good prospect for Tony Gollan. First run for the stable came over 1200m at Doomben where she was backed as if unbeatable and the sustained support was justified. She made a mess of them and ran time in doing so. Just has to handle Eagle Farm and she’ll be winning.

8 Better Get Set (Bet Now: $3.20) has done little wrong this time in for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. Resumed with a second here to Contemptuous before going to Ipswich where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted. Takes on a smart one here, but she has the extra fitness under the belt.

3 Able Mabel (Bet Now: $8.00) is suited against her own sex. Barry Lockwood trained mare that ran a narrow second two back behind Montenegro Man. Then raced over 1200m at Doomben again and was good in defeat behind a smart one, Contemptuous. That form does read well for this.

11 Whozyadeeler (Bet Now: $3.40) has let me down in both runs back from a break, but third up, big track, hard fit, he’ll do me. Disappointing when resuming here, but the market didn’t like him late. Then went to Ipswich and I think with clear air, he wins instead of a luckless fourth. His best sees him win this IMO.

1 Acrobatic (Bet Now: $8.00) has been up a little while but continues to race well for Kelly Schweida. Just did a bit too much work from the wide gate at Doomben last time but stuck to the task and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Animate. If he’s got petrol left in the tank, he can be in the finish.

6 Kavak (Bet Now: $6.00) hasn’t won in a long time but is honest and should be thereabouts. Few weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout at the Gold Coast. Gave a solid kick from the front but just couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Gogol. He’ll land near the front and give a sight.

8 Fastnet Cyclone (Bet Now: $7.00) has returned pretty well for Stuart Kendrick and can take this out. Good resumption here behind Catesby. Then went to Doomben and the mile where the race shape was against him, so want to be forgiving behind Sir Barnabus. Good record at Eagle Farm and getting towards peak fitness, he can win.

7 Tokoriki Lad (Bet Now: $7.00) is sneaky going well I feel for Tony Gollan. His last couple of runs have had merit to it, the latest being two weeks ago at Doomben when back and working home well behind Green Jacket. If he can sit closer in the run, I think he’ll be quite dangerous.

5 Matowi (Bet Now: $9.50) is three weeks between runs for Chris Waller since racing on Toowoomba Cup Day over the mile. He got back in the run and seemed to track up nicely, but perhaps the uphill climb down the side took the stuffing out of him. Back to a track he has run well at previously, he can take this out.

8 Georgie’s Pride (Bet Now: $2.25) should be suited here for Desleigh Forster. Market kept her pretty safe in betting two weeks ago at Doomben where she attempted to lead throughout and gave a solid kick, but first up, her condition just gave way late. Fitter, she’ll take running down.

1 You Make Me Smile (Bet Now: $8.50) should be better suited here. He comes through the Weetwood at Toowoomba when kicking up hard to hold a forward spot but that early burn just told on him late, finishing down the track. Is a winner at the track and back in depth, he can bounce back.

5 Constant Flight (Bet Now: $11.00) is a son of Written Tycoon for David Vandyke that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since May 15 during the Carnival where he was wide no cover for the trip and tired late behind Axe. Been given a good break and looks to have trialled up well for his return.

4 It’s All Talk (Bet Now: $6.50) should prove hard to beat here. O’Dea/Hoysted trained filly that was specked at a price when resuming at Doomben two weeks ago and those who took the big odds were rewarded with a strong win from off the speed and finishing best, suggesting that a rise in trip suits and has more upside than most.

1 Rhapsody Rose (Bet Now: $3.80) has won at 1200m so 1400m here I find interesting. Worked and felt the pinch first up at Eagle Farm. Then went to the Gold Coast and kept coming from off the speed but couldn’t quite get there when fourth. Hard fit, up to 1400m, she gets her chance to showcase how well she is going.

7 Menazzi (Bet Now: $4.00) is racing like 1400m will suit. Stuart Kendrick trains this Pride Of Dubai gelding. Last couple of runs have come at 1200m, the latest being a fortnight back at Doomben and was okay late without threatening behind It’s All Talk. The rise in trip suits so he commands respect.

1 Cristal Breeze (Bet Now: $5.50) has the class edge and I think that will be enough for him. Kris Lees trained galloper that hasn’t exactly set the world on fire this time in but drops a mile in grade/depth after a couple of runs in Sydney. He’ll need luck from the draw, but hard to knock the way he’s going.

Big tick for 6 Ziemba (Bet Now: $4.20) is that he gets to 1400m. Freshened up and back to 1200m a fortnight back at Doomben. Just lacked the turn of foot to put them away but was good late behind Say Haya. Like him up to 1400m…little while between wins, but is capable. Market watch.

4 Rule The World (Bet Now: $11.00) is a very interesting runner. He has had a few homes throughout his career and now finds himself with Team Edmonds after formerly being with Mack Griffith. His best is certainly good enough to be around the mark, so watch the market and see what it does.

5 Le Palmier (Bet Now: $2.60) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that is nearing a win. Was four weeks between runs when racing at Doomben two weeks ago. He sat off the speed and finished off his race strongly, just missing out on the win when a narrow third to Tambo’s Mate. Fitter, he’ll take beating here.

2 Simply Fly (Bet Now: $4.80) is a quality four year old for the Lipp/Hahn camp that resumes. He was one of the better local three year olds when last in work, winning plenty of races and measuring up against some good stock. Unbeaten fresh with a sharp trial under the belt. 0/3 at Eagle Farm is the knock.

1000m is on the short side for 1 Stampe (Bet Now: $18.00) but he does have class on his side and that will carry him a long way. He hasn’t raced since the Rocky Newmarket when on speed and just feeling the pinch late when sixth to Last Chance. Despite being short of his best trip, two sharp trials indicate he can sprint well fresh.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 8 Georgie’s Pride

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 8 Fastnet Cyclone
