The Parks track at Morphettville will play host to a nine race program on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out six metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out three metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:47) Zonte's Footstep (bm72) 1550m
1 Noname Lane (Bet Now: $1.75) looks the one to beat for Will Clarken. He stepped up a fair bit in grade/depth last time out in the Gawler Cup and he ran a super race from near the speed when a close up third to Sign Of Ussuri. Was 1200m up to 1500m so you’d like to think last start will toughen him up for this.
3 Crown Mint (Bet Now: $5.50) deserves another chance. I’d be very forgiving of his run last Saturday here. The race shape was clearly against him and the front pair dominated proceedings, giving nothing else a look in. Inside gate, claim, if he can sit closer in the run, he’ll be dangerous.
5 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now: $11.00) is in with a shout despite the stable going like a busted compared to last year. This gelding had zero luck last Saturday here, getting badly held up at vital stages in the straight and could make a case to say he wins with clear air. Better luck here and he can take this out.
Race 2. (13:22) Port Adelaide F.c. Mdn Plate 1250m
5 Pudding (Bet Now: $6.50) for me. Team Jolly trained three year old that debuted on Gawler Cup Day and while he was never a winning threat, liked the way he finished his race off when third to Sacred Armour, who ran well in defeat next start. Like him up in trip and has more upside than most.
11 Totally Discreet (Bet Now: $1.95) is a query at 1250m but brings some solid form. Three weeks between runs since racing over 1000m here when ridden with a sit and found the line strongly when second to Rastelli. If she can see out the 1250m strongly enough, she’s in the mix.
9 Sadler’s Song (Bet Now: $20.00) should be suited up in trip for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp. Resumed over 1050m on Cup Day on the course proper. Just found them a bit sharp but was a definite pass mark I thought behind Arran Bay. Like him up in trip and for mine finds a winnable maiden.
Race 3. (13:57) Hender Consulting Mdn Plate 1000m
This looks a simple set up with 12 Lamoree (Bet Now: $4.40). First up, 3kg claim, 51.5kg on her back…jump and run. That was the case last prep, showing good early toe and just failing to finish it off. To me, the set up suggests they’ll let this girl run and try to cling on late. Hopefully she does.
7 Fields Of Athenry (Bet Now: $7.50) will be hard to beat if the inside gate is used to advantage. Just got too far back fresh at Murray Bridge. Then went to the Gawler 1100m and finished off nicely again when a close up third. If he can sit closer in the run, he’s good enough to overhaul them.
6 Brazen Eagle (Bet Now: $26.00) deserves another chance. Resumed on Gawler Cup Day where he had specking at a price and failed to finish it off behind impressive winner Sacred Armour. Did run well on debut last prep and off that effort, he’d be in with a shout here. See what the market does.
Race 4. (14:32) Rsl Care Sa - Romani (bm60) 1000m
1 Larkham (Bet Now: $3.60) is capable with his best. Three weeks between runs for Ryan Balfour since racing on Gawler Cup Day. He did too much work on speed and just felt the pinch late behind Indian Gazelle. His best figures have come at this track/distance, so he can bounce back.
2 Gaze Grise (Bet Now: $4.50) saves her best for the Parks track and returning here, she can bounce back. Won well fresh on the Parks track before racing on the course proper here her next two, two strong races, much stronger than this. Back to 60 grade, she appeals for sure if there is petrol in the tank.
8 Unicorny (Bet Now: $20.00) is a talented mare from Victoria that is having her first run for Shayne Cahill. She is a city winner when she was trained in Victoria, so that sort of form clearly reads well for this. Stable can fire with a tried horse, so I’d watch the market and see what it does with this mare.
Race 5. (15:12) Claude Haigh Memoral (bm82) 2250m
4 Nobel Heights (Bet Now: $2.20) picks himself here for Matt Cumani. He was a dominant winner on Geelong Cup Day. Sat on speed before taking the lead early on in the straight and though getting the staggers late, he was too good. Reckon with a more conservative steer, he’ll be more effective.
5 Exalted Ambition (Bet Now: $7.00) is a hard fit horse for Grant Young that is racing in good form. He ran in the Sky Beau Final on Cup Day on the course proper here. He tried his heart out but couldn’t quite get there when second to Santelmo Fuego. If he brings that run here, he’ll go close.
10 Turf Man (Bet Now: $101.00) doesn’t have the class/quality to beat this lot, but he can sneak a first four spot. Ran at this track/distance last Saturday and was good late from off the speed when third to The Red Sea in what was a poor race compared to this. One for wider multiples.
Race 6. (15:52) Blooms The Chemist (bm82) 1250m
2 Extra Time (Bet Now: $4.80) is hard to beat for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp. Ran over 1200m two weeks ago on the course proper where he tried hard from off the speed, but was no match for a very much in form Rock The Ring, with a gap to third. That form does read well for this.
1 Terbium (Bet Now: $3.80) has found winning form and he could go on with it. Three weeks between runs since a dominant win at this track/distance, sitting off the speed and producing good change up speed to get the job done. That could well be the confidence boost he needs to go on with it.
6 Baroda (Bet Now: $13.00) can be an improver here. First run for Will Clarken came in the Rock The Ring race from two weeks back on the course proper. Ridden negatively from the gate and did make ground, but was never a threat. Better for the run, good second up record, she can bounce back.
Race 7. (16:32) Gary Radford Oam Memorial-bm60 1950m
12 Comfort Girl (Bet Now: $3.40) looks ready to win for Shayne Cahill. Ran over 1800m on the course proper here on Cup Day. She sat back off the speed and worked home strongly, though clearly no match for an in form Sebonna. Hard fit now and up to 1950m, she’ll take beating.
7 Capricorn Ridge (Bet Now: $8.50) should be suited up in trip. Matty Seyers trained gelding that was good late fresh at Murray Bridge behind Splash Some Cash. Then raced in the Sebonna race on Cup Day and was quite one paced despite seemingly having every chance. Third up and getting a rise in trip, an improved showing is on the cards.
2 Neva Doubt Us (Bet Now: $27.00) is second up and can be an improver. Resumed three weeks back over 1550m here. Paraded like he would need the run but I didn’t think he was too bad in defeat I thought behind Iowa Hawkeye. That form, as a whole, looks suspect, but fitter and up in trip, he can sneak a first four spot.
Race 8. (17:12) Grand Syndicates Shares (bm68) 1250m
3 May Be Fate (Bet Now: $3.00) looks to have returned well. Resumed at this track/distance three weeks ago and closed off with purpose from the back when third to impressive winner Terbium. That form clearly reads well for this and with improvement from the resumption, he’ll take beating.
13 Our Deep Agenda (Bet Now: $3.90) is hit and miss but he turned his form around on Cup Day with a strong win on the course proper here, landing big bets in the process when fending off an in form Tahnee Tradition. I don’t think this race, as a whole, is strong, so he doesn’t need to improve much to be around the mark.
It’s interesting what they are doing with 8 Little Rich Boy (Bet Now: $11.00). Last few runs, they have tried to ride him with cover and conserve energy for his finale. To my eye, I think he does race best when allowed to roll on speed and give them something to chase. If that eventuates, he’s in with a shout.
Race 9. (17:55) Jake Brown's 50th (bm60) 1400m
11 Shopster (Bet Now: $15.00) looks very well placed here to my eye. Resumed in a strong 68 and was good late behind Hearty Lass. Then ran in a 62 on Cup Day and was a definite pass mark from off the speed when fourth to Our Deep Agenda. Hard fit now and up to 1400m, back to 60 grade, I think she only runs well.
5 Cuban State (Bet Now: $3.30) is a talented animal for the McEvoy camp that resumes. Hasn’t raced since the Autumn where he kicked off his career with a three run prep, winning impressively on debut at Pakenham before a couple of below par runs. Given a good break, jumped out well leading in, the market will tell you if he’s ready.
6 Residue (Bet Now: $9.00) is racing like 1400m will suit. I was surprised he was hard in the market two weeks back over 1200m on the course proper here. He was very one paced and just whacked away from behind the speed when third. To me, he wants a rise in trip, which he gets here.
