A strong card of racing will be run and won at Belmont this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race One (12:34pm) : Westspeed Plate 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: No need to go in depth here. Just back Hot Goods (Best Odds: $1.50) and move on to the next race.
Big Danger: Rebel Queen (Best Odds: $5.00) was outclassed in the Supremacy before being spelled. Recent Lark Hill trial winner and should run well.
Roughie: Young George (Best Odds: $15.00) hasn’t raced since June when finishing third behind the above average Chantski. Hasn’t trialled, so fitness levels are unknown.
Race Two (1:13pm) : Perth Racing #ascothappens Handicap (60+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Tipping sharp improvement from Hostwin Pegasus, (Best Odds: $15.00) who pulled up with an elevated heart rate after failing badly first up. That was on a soft track also, and he is far better on top of the ground, so I think he can run a beauty here.
Big Danger: Kennocha (Best Odds: $3.40) scored a dominant first up before bumping into Agachar Cruz a fortnight back. He should be cherry ripe fitness wise third up from a break, and the stable is in white hot form at the moment.
Roughie: Pop Hero (Best Odds: $34.00) ran fourth in that Agachar Cruz race mentioned above, and I thought he was just fair. He had the sweet run behind the tempo but didn’t really finish off. Senior rider goes aboard now, so he can show improvement here.
Race Three (1:53pm) : Perth Racing TV Handicap (72+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Nightingale Road (Best Odds: $14.00) stormed home from the back to finish a close up third to impressive winner Madassa, beaten just over a length. She does have a booming finish on her, and only carries 52kg after the claim for Jake Casey.
Big Danger: Woolibar (Best Odds: $2.30) was stuck wide no cover last time out yet stormed home to just miss out in picking up Madassa. Meets that horse 1.5kg better off for a narrow loss, so I am confident she can turn the tables on the winner.
Roughie: Whataplan (Best Odds: $10.00) is a talented type that resumes here after a successful prep in the Autumn, which saw him win four races. No trials, so he might need the hitout, but he is a winner and that’s a great trait to have.
Race Four (2:33pm) : Westspeed Stayers’ Bonus Handicap (66+) 2200m: Form Guide
Back Me: The unknown is Street Bandit, (Best Odds: $3.80) who steps up to 2200m after racing over the mile last time out where he seemingly had his chance, eventually running third. Distance is a major query, but he is in form.
Big Danger: Verdello Blue (Best Odds: $2.60) started bolters odds last week and he stuck to the task very gamely when running third. Pike sticks, which is a good lead, and this race doesn’t carry much depth.
Roughie: Black Magic Miss (Best Odds: $8.00) was just too bad to be true last time out when finishing well back behind The Director, beaten over five lengths. Back up in trip should suit, and she is a definite improver.
Race Five (3:09pm) : Westspeed Handicap (1MW) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Going to take a chance with Major Mambo, (Best Odds: $17.00) who debuted at Pinjarra a couple of weeks back and worked home well when fifth to impressive winner Petite Charm. This race doesn’t look overly strong, gate one and Warwick on board.
Big Danger: See Me Sizzle (Best Odds: $2.80) is a last start maiden winner at Northam, where Pike had him on speed for the entire trip and the horse fought on very strongly to get the job done. The stable knows when to bring them to town, and they rarely run a bad race.
Roughie: Gold Club (Best Odds: $16.00) ran over this track/distance last time out, and he was afforded every chance in front but just felt the pinch late to run a game fourth. Bit easier here, and if he can a cheap sectional on speed, he will prove a bit more strong at the end.
Race Six (3:45pm) : Amelia Park Handicap (60+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Going to take a chance with Special Delivery, (Best Odds: $4.00) who has his first run for Adam Durrant. He hasn’t raced since the Derby when finishing unplaced behind star mare Delicacy. Now with Durrant and his recent trial was okay. Pike on is also a good lead.
Big Danger: Paris Of Troy (Best Odds: $4.80) just pulled his head off last start over this track/distance and had to tire late, which he did, but he wasn’t far away in finishing fourth. Stronger rider on now, and with better manners, he can beat these.
Roughie: Big Clipper (Best Odds: $12.00) copped enormous pressure in front last start at Northam when pestered by a bolter on his outside. He beat that horse, and looked home, but was nabbed in the last stride. Rises in class again, but he looks very capable.
Race Seven (4:20pm) : Tabtouch Handicap (78+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Spacecraft (Best Odds: $11.00) surely has these covered. He has his first run for the Parnham barn after formerly being the Hayes/Dabernig team. Looked sharp in a recent trial win here, and on his Victorian form, he should beat this lot.
Big Danger: War Prince (Best Odds: $7.00) ran over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and just tired late when fourth to Halo Express. Drawn wide here, but I think a cold ride should see him run the trip out.
Roughie: New Time (Best Odds: $8.50) drops in class after contesting the Idyllic Prince last start when sixth to Wink And A Nod, who blew them away last Saturday to frank the form. Gets in very well at the weights and should be very competitive.
Race Eight (4:55pm) : Perth Racing Membership Handicap (66+) 1200m: Form Guide
Back Me: Wild Stratus (Best Odds: $3.40) looks the best bet on the program. He stormed home from the back last start to finish fifth to Flying Time, beaten just under a length. He draws very well here, and if he is close enough on the turn, he will finish over the top of these.
Big Danger: Bayella (Best Odds: $8.50) was wide no cover last start over this track/distance and fought on very gamely when a close up second to impressive winner Zuccheros. Draws wide again, but is in ripping form and will definitely be there at the finish.
Roughie: Miki Two Shoes (Best Odds: $15.00) ran over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and savaged the line from the back to finish a close up sixth to Flying Time, so I think that’s the main form reference for this event, and with normal luck, he should be flashing home late again.
BEST BET: Race Eight Number 6 Wild Stratus
NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 3 Spacecraft
VALUE: Race Three Number 8 Nightingale Road
