Race One (13:08) : Book Fiesta On The Green 18/12 Handicap (82) 2400m:
Back Me: Peter Moody is one of the best in the business at placing his horses, and he looks as though he will do it successfully courtesy of Triple Gold (Best Odds: $2.00). He stuck on very gamely when racing over 2500m on Pakenham Cup Day to run third to Ranger’s Run, beaten just over two lengths. Last time he was at Adelaide he was six lengths off Delicacy in the Derby. Good enough for me.
Big Danger: Distillation (Best Odds: $3.00) ran over 2500m on the course proper a fortnight back and stuck on okay when third to Celtic Prince, beaten just over three lengths. He should be getting closer to peak fitness, and outside Triple Gold, this is a very thin race.
Roughie: Sir Dylan (Best Odds: $41.00) was specked at odds when racing in that 2500m race Distillation contested, but he just plodded on to run second last in the seven horse. Plodding might be good enough to snare a place, but the race really does look Triple Gold’s to lose.

Race Two (13:44) : Campolina Stud Handicap (70) 1950m:
Back Me: Looks a really good race for Robocop (Best Odds: $6.50), who is on the back up from last Saturday where he proved far too good for his rivals over 1800m, and won drawing away. Extra trip, extra fitness, has run well on the track before…just looks the winner IMO.
Big Danger: Zerprise Journey (Best Odds: $2.20) stuck to the task quite gamely last time out over the mile when third to Burnro, beaten 1.3L. She is another runner who doesn’t normally race well on this track, but outside the top tip, this is a thin race, so on that basis, she is a chance.
Roughie: Eigelstein (Best Odds: $41.00) strikes the easiest race he has contested in some time. He ran down the track behind Tenere last Saturday over the mile. Back in grade and up to 1950m could spark him into some sort of room.

Race Three (14:19) : Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (70) 1250m:
Back Me: Ascendance (Best Odds: $3.60) was crunched in betting last time out at Strathalbyn and the punters got it spot on, with the son of Choisir leading all the way and just bolting in. This bloke was nominated for William Hill Park last weekend, and would have been a leading contender, but the stable has instead saved him here and he looks the clear horse to beat.
Big Danger: Kallara Village (Best Odds: $5.00) showed good speed to lead throughout when winning on debut at Benalla. The third horse has run well again while the runner up looks talented, so the form reads well, and always respect Smerdon runners when they are sent to Adelaide.
Roughie: Chosen Angel (Best Odds: $8.00) was unwanted on debut at Gawler, but she produced a lovely turn of foot to get the job done and beat home Gasoline Alley. 4.5kg weight swing against, so I can’t see her holding out Gasoline Alley, but she is a place chance for sure in an even contest.

Race Four: Holdfast Insurance Handicap (70) 1550m:
Back Me (14:54) : Boys Getaround Him (Best Odds: $3.80) ran over 1800m on the course proper last Saturday and stuck to the task quite gamely when running third to Robocop, who I am keen on at this meeting also. Back to 1550m is perfect and racing on a track that suits on speed runners should see this Stephen Theodore runner take some running down.
Big Danger: Golden Buckleboo (Best Odds: $5.00) was unwanted in betting when racing over this track/distance three weeks back when proving too good for his rivals thanks to a brilliant ride from Paul Gatt. Loses nothing with Toeroek riding, should lead again and take some running down.
Roughie: Zovista (Best Odds: $34.00) has struggled in town previously, but she gets her chance here IMO to show something. She was making up ground late when racing over the Strathalbyn mile last start, and with weight relief here, I think she could well be a knockout chance here at a good price.

Race Five (15:33) : Ted Dixon Farewell Handicap (90) 1400m:
Back Me: Back On Target (Best Odds: $2.90) was a short priced elect when running over 1550m here last start when running a close second to Defiant Angel, who franked the form by running well at Flemington during Cup Week. Gets weight relief now after the claim and saves his best for this track.
Big Danger: Defiant Angel (Best Odds: $2.60) is five weeks between runs since running a game second to Rhythm To Spare over the mile at Flemington on Stakes Day. Form out of that race has been okay with a couple of runners placing at their next start, and with Defiant Angel back to this level and back to 1400m is perfect for him.
Roughie: Double Pockets (Best Odds: $6.50) is on the quick back up from last Saturday where he was completely luckless in the Quayclean (1200m) when eighth to Lord Aspen. He never really got clear until late, but when he did, he was excellent through the line and about 50m after the post, he was leading the field. 1400m should pose no issue and he tends to save his best for this track.

Race Six (16:13) : Ross Young Memorial Handicap (82) 1250m:
Back Me: Looks a lovely race for Kievann (Best Odds: $2.60). This Stephen Brown trained galloper was enormous in defeat last start at the Valley when a close up third to Written Up given it was near impossible for on speed runners near the inside kick on, but this horse did, and was only beaten 0.8L. Big drop in depth, looks the leader…should be winning.
Big Danger: King’s Pardon (Best Odds: $6.00) resumed over this distance on the course proper a couple of weeks back and worked home with real purpose late when third to in form galloper Enduro, beaten just over three lengths. He ran over this track/distance second up last time in and took ground off a subsequent Stakes winner. Hard to beat.
Roughie: Astro Damus (Best Odds: $31.00) resumed over this track/distance three weeks back where he worked home with real purpose to run second to Lucky Flipper. Meet at the same weights here, but he has more upside and is a second up winner.

Race Seven (16:53) : Hughes Chauffeured Limousines Handicap (70) 1000m:
Back Me: Alcobro (Best Odds: $4.00) resumes here for Richard Jolly after a somewhat frustrating Autumn/Winter prep. No trials, but he has an excellent record on the track and has a super first up record, so on his best form, he’d take some beating here.
Roughie: Miss Adele (Best Odds: $7.50) has been given a six week freshen up since running over 1400m here when sixth to Sagapuss, who has run well since. I like that this mare has been freshened up, and if the speed is on, she should be working home well late.
Roughie: Daunting Dancer (Best Odds: $11.00) ran a sensational race when racing running over 1100m on the course proper when second to Melbourne mare Belle Melba. Terrible record on the Parks track, but given she is in such good form, this is the right time to get rid of that poor statistic.

Race Eight (17:33) : Schweppes Handicap (64) 1300m:
Back Me: Heirdom (Best Odds: $16.00) ran fifth in a pretty strong race first up, and his effort was pretty good from a worse than midfield spot. He is a winner second up and this looks a very winnable race for him. Needs a bit of luck given his racing style, but if he gets it, he’ll take some beating.
Big Danger: Big watch on Rationality (Best Odds: $3.80), who is having her first run for Philip Stokes after formerly being with Team Hawkes. Her form when racing in Sydney had tapered off badly, but perhaps back to racing anti-clockwise and a change of training and scenery could spark her. Watch market moves.
Roughie: Cool Maverick (Best Odds: $10.00) was given a beaut steer from apprentice Dylan Caboche to win over 1200m on the course proper a couple of weeks back. He has looked pretty good in all three runs this time, and is sure to be a leading contender despite the fact he is zero from three on the Parks track.
