Queensland metro racing this Saturday heads to the Sunshine Coast. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (11:38) Butler Mcdermott Lawyers Mdn Hcp 1000m
4 Cosmo Centaurus (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks to have a bit on these. This guy has been sharp in a couple of trial wins in readiness for start one, the latest being last week at Doomben and moved quite nicely. Maps to settle forward and all things equal, I think he wins.
3 Better Not Forget (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is in with a leading shout. Son of Better Than Ready for Kelly Schweida that is on debut off the back of a sharp trial win at Doomben last week, winning by a decent space and running solid time relative to the morning. Not a deep maiden this so he commands respect.
12 Maragical (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Tony Gollan trained filly that is on debut. This girl has had a couple of trials in readiness for the debut and while sheβs been held in each trial, she hasnβt moved too bad. Not sure she wins but can run top four.
Race 2. (12:13) Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Hcp 1300m
2 Mister Bianco (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is hard to beat. Paul Shailer trained galloper that has been strong in two career outings, charging late on debut at Eagle Farm before going to Ipswich where he wasn’t 100% happy on the tight track but he had loads of class on his rivals and duly won. He’ll love the bigger track and be strong late.
1 Enterprise Defence (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) will love racing on the home track I feel. Stuart Kendrick trains this three year old, who ran over 1350m at Doomben two weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground but his finale was quite good in defeat behind Bella Khadjar. Like him on the bigger track, room to move, hard to beat.
4 The Sun Dance (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is an interesting runner. James Moore trained galloper that debuted over 1000m here and his win was impressive, giving them a start and beating, getting better as the race went on. He is a horse heading in the right direction and yes, there is depth to this, but he might go pretty good.
Race 3. (12:48) Double R Group (Bm90) 2200m
Hard to get away from 2 Rogue Bear (Bet Now:Β $SP.00). This guy looked a near good thing to my eye two weeks ago at Doomben and he duly saluted, aided by a peach from Mallyon, who tracked Caboche into the race before angling clear and he made a mess of them late in an impressive display. He can certainly go on with it.
1 Sneak Preview (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) will love the rise to 2200m and has home track advantage. He comes through the Rogue Bear race from a fortnight back at Doomben where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never really a winning threat, his finale was very good. Now up in trip, home deck, hard to beat.
4 Port Philip (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Marcus Wilson and is a definite winning threat. He ran behind Rogue Bear two weeks back at Doomben. He got back near last and just spotted them too much head start but his finale was quite good, beaten just over four lengths. With room to move, he’s dangerous.
Race 4. (13:23) Pfd Foodservices (Rs0mw) 1300m
5 Bohemian Lad (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has home track advantage, is unbeaten in two runs here, gee I think he’s going to take beating against these. He ran over 1200m two weeks ago at Doomben when off the speed and kept chasing but was quite good in defeat behind the very promising Invincible Shield. No horse of that quality here, he appeals big time. Keen.
9 Tranquil Bay (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is racing well for Rob Heathcoate and commands respect. This mare ran over 1200m at Doomben a fortnight back when off the speed and although held up at times, she found the line well enough and was solid in defeat behind I See You Coming. Fitter and up in trip, bigger track, she is a key threat.
4 Zingalong (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a query at 1300m but he does tend to race best at the Sunny Coast. Total forgive last time here over 1200m on testing ground, struggling to pick his feet up late in the piece behind Black On Beauty. He brings fresh legs and fresh legs at 1300m, so keen to see how he goes.
Race 5. (13:58) Higgins Coatings Plate (C3) 1800m
5 Zaphod (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has to be given another look. Loved the Australian debut win at Scone where he made a mess of them on heavy ground before going to Doomben where he did a bit of early work to land on speed and that early burn just felt the pinch late in the piece. Hard fit now and with a bit more juice in the track, he appeals.
7 Kisses By Evie (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is flying for Glenn Thornton and rates highly for me. She was a dominant winner at this trip two weeks ago where she got into a lovely spot just off the speed before finding clear air and she made a mess of them late in the piece in a strong display. Takes on older horses now, but hard to knock the way she’s racing.
11 Notacluehoworwho (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is unknown at 1800m but is racing as if he’ll appreciate it. He ran two weeks back behind Madame Odette at Doomben where he got back off the speed and although he took a little while to wind into his work, he was pretty good late in the piece. Off that effort, 1800m is fine and has home track advantage.
Race 6. (14:33) Barrier Reef Pool Hcp 1400m
5 Chatty Lady (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks to have returned in really good order for Mark Currie and should take beating. Three weeks between runs since resuming over 1200m at Eagle Farm where she got back off the speed but found the line well enough in defeat I thought behind Tectonic Plate. Fitter and up in trip, good record at the Sunny Coast, she takes beating.
3 Deepour (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one of the hardest to beat. Adam Campton trained gelding that ran a fortnight back over 1350m at Doomben. He got into a decent spot off the speed and loomed large to win but just couldn’t quite finish the job when a narrow second to Flying Trapeze. Good record at the track and although 1400m is a slight query, he has class.
2 Irish Songs (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a track/distance winner that can take this out. He ran behind Flying Trapeze two weeks back at Doomben. He was off the speed and although he had his chance, he didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind the Gary Portelli galloper. That form does read well and love him at 1400m on the bigger track.
Race 7. (15:08) Brc Spring Carnival On Sale (Bm68) 1400m
4 Ready Azz Eva (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is nearing a win for Rob Heathcoate. This gelding ran two weeks ago at Doomben when off the speed and kept chasing in quite a good effort when a narrow second to The Inflictor. He has run well at the track/distance previously and for mine, strikes a winnable race.
5 Triple Money (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is first up for Paul Shailer and is dangerous. His last run came on March 16 at Eagle Farm when placing over 1800m behind quality mare A Deel Of Humour. Not a noted fresh horse but does like the Sunny Coast and he has trialled up really nicely leading in.
8 Hillcrest Avenue (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a son of Australia for Stuart Kendrick that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 2 over 2200m here when placing behind the then in form Ready Availabull. He is better suited over further but can sprint well on the fresh side and has trialled nicely enough in readiness for the return.
Race 8. (15:47) Martin Collins Australia (Bm70) 1000m
14 Termagant (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has done little wrong in a four start career and rates highly. She has won two on the bounce this time in, both over 1000m at the Sunny Coast and each time she has been dynamic. Good test here and harder, but she’s a filly that is flying and is racing as if she will measure up here.
11 Simbu (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumed with a bang when bolting up during the Rocky Carnival where he looked a moral on paper and duly saluted in what was a first up kill. Good test here jumping straight to town but he has good room for improvement and takes beating.
12 Femme Fatale (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) tends to save her best for this track/distance so I think she is in with a shout. She ran over 1200m at Doomben two weeks back when near the speed and loomed large to win but 1200m at this level just found her out when second to Real Rush. Like her back to the Sunny Coast 1000m and is hard to beat I say.
Race 9. (16:27) Caloundra Rsl Hcp (C6) 1000m
11 Liquor (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a short course specialist that is suited here. Several weeks between runs since leading throughout and was dominant from the front over 1110m, albeit against the Mares. Now takes on harder company and the boys, but with her racing style, she’ll take running down.
4 Richon (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a short course specialist and appears suited here. Impressive first up win at Doomben before going to the Ramornie where he attempted to lead throughout over 1200m and gave a decent enough kick from the front but 1200m at that level just found him out behind Ka Bling. Like him back to 1000m and will give a decent sight.
3 Goldsborough (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) tends to save his best for the Sunny Coast so I am not dismissing him. He ran over this track/distance back on July 6 when not 100% on the bog track so be forgiving of the run behind Hakkai Maru. Dry track, firmer anyway, looks ideal, and is dangerous with luck from the tricky gate.
Race 10. (17:05) Maeva Hospitality (Bm78) 1600m
Leaning towards 11 Thesecondatportsea (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) in the get out. She resumed over the mile at Ipswich where she got back off the speed and not sure she was entirely happy on the tight track but I really liked the way she found the line late in the piece behind Spray Gun. She’ll love getting to the bigger track and with good upside to come, rates highly.
6 Cunnamulla Fella (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is racing in super form for Rob Heathcoate and rates highly. He put together a couple of wins on the bounce before racing a fortnight back at Doomben where he tried his guts out but just found one better in Madame Odette. He’s holding his form really well and should be around the mark again.
1 Cranky Harry (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Matty Dunn since winning a Highway at Randwick where he gave them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to win and win well. Harder here but confident he can measure up.
