1/3/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

9 Broadway Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1400m in a maiden at Camperdown when back in the run and made up decent headway without threatening behind Brandnu Deal. If she brings her best, she can threaten against this lot.

1 Collated (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has the 1400m grounding for this and has to be given respect. Latest run was at Oakbank on Feb 13 when off speed and seemed to have his chance but was still solid enough in defeat I thought behind Right Of Veto. He is a definite threat.

2 Lord Valen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but is consistent and should be around the mark. Latest run was over 1100m at Oakbank when near the speed and presented to be some sort of threat but had to settle for a third to Hot Wings. The rise in trip I like, he can win.

3 Dual Fuel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Peter Hardacre. She ran over 1950m here two weeks ago when doing work out wide but despite that hard run, she kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Rich Champagne. The rise in trip suits and actually went within a lip of winning this race last year. Think she can go one better.

1 Sebonna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has class on his side and that will carry him a long way towards victory. He ran three weeks ago in the Premiers Plate where he got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Wild Imagination. That form clearly reads well for this.

4 Bellavardo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Richards/Moyle after racing over 2050m last Wednesday at Strathalbyn. She got too far out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway and was pretty good late. The rise in trip suits, should be strong late and can take this out.

2 Imposing Suspect (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He comes through the Naracoorte Cup where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home well enough in defeat I thought behind Flying Basil. Yet to run well here but the way he’s racing, he finds a winnable race, I think he can change his fortunes when it comes to this track.

5 Hateech (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look after racing over this track/distance two weeks back where she was right up nearer the inside and I don’t think that was the A1 ground for the meeting but that said, she was a bit on the plain side. Her best is good enough to threaten.

3 Dr Dee Dee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with his best. He comes through the Naracoorte himself where he got too far back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. He can take this out for sure.

7 Saint Michael (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was the subject of a big plunge when winning a fortnight back, sitting back off the speed but was able to slice his way through, get clear air and launched late to get the job done. He has that win on the board, he can go on with it.

4 Bullet Wing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when getting the sweet sit in transit behind the speed before angling for clear air and he looked the winner when asked for the big effort but had to settle for a narrow second to Saint Michael. That was his first run in a month so upside/improvement, he takes beating.

2 West Cliff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the key threats. He ran third to Saint Michael two weeks back. He was off speed and chased to the line with real purpose but couldn’t quite land the killer blow. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and should be around the mark once again.

3 Artillery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at Strathalbyn when doing work out wide to sit on speed and loomed to win but that early burn just told on him late in the piece behind Mine All Mine. If that hasn’t busted him, he takes beating against these.

1 Beauty Rising (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and confident she can win again. Dominant track/distance win from two weeks ago where she got into a lovely spot off the speed before angling into clear air and she knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. She was only second up there so upside/improvement to come, she’ll take beating.

6 King Moya (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Jon O’Connor. He has finished runner up his past two, the latest run being a fortnight back behind Beauty Rising where he tried quite hard but just couldn’t produced the same finale of the mare. Racing well and should be around the mark.

4 Darknconfidential (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will love the rise to 1400m, I dare say with eyes towards the SA Derby. He resumed over 1250m two weeks ago here where he got back near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I think you had to like the way he closed his race off in defeat behind Justa Star. Might want one more and the bigger track but off the return, how good it was, I have to be with him.

1 Justa Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given respect for Andrew Gluyas. He won over 1250m here a fortnight back when lobbing outside the speed and in a race suited to those near the front, he was suited and finished best to score. 1400m, I think, is okay, and has a good racing style.

9 Queenoftheair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is up in trip after resuming behind Justa Star two weeks back. The race shape wasn’t to her liking but she stayed on and was a definite pass mark in defeat I thought behind the Andrew Gluyas three year old. Like her up in trip and should be strong late.

7 The Showvinist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) appeals against this lot. He was second up when racing over 1000m at The Valley last time out when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Trapeze Warrior. Lands in a plum spot from the draw and strikes a winnable race.

8 Fine Future (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a dominant win over 1250m here, getting the beaut run in transit before being angled into clear air and let down with purpose late to win and win well. Fresh legs and back to 1000m, but will be strong late and is heading in the right direction.

3 Overextend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing on the course proper here when landing on speed and credit to her, he chased with purpose late to wear down tearaway leader Vexatious Dancer. Looks to have returned really well and strikes a winnable race.

9 Porter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks himself after scratchings. He ran two weeks ago at Flemington over this trip when attempting to lead throughout and gave a good sight from the front but tired late in the piece behind Is It Me. Front end control, he takes a power of beating in a thin race.

10 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1250m here behind A Samurai Mind. He was last in a race suited to those on speed and he just couldn’t get involved when down the track. Might need another run but he does save his best for the Parks track and has good upside to come.

7 Exalted Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver for Michael Hickmott. He resumed over 1250m here two weeks back where it was pretty much a barrier trial for him given the race shape so forgive and forget the run behind A Samurai Mind. Good second up record and rising to 1400m, he can run an improved race.

8 Longer Route (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. Mick Huxtable trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since the Gawler Cup when when attempting to lead throughout but couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late behind Bamyan Buddha. Trial to get ready was good and 1400m fresh signals intent.

3 Rock The Bar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here as a last start winner, that win coming at Geelong when near the speed throughout and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. That was over 1500m and I don’t see 1400m being an issue.

5 Docinthe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a definite threat. Big win from him at Terang last time when appreciating a good speed, giving them a start and a beating to win and win well. Looks to be good speed here so he’ll get his chance to launch late.
