Seven races will be run and won at the Sunny Coast this Wednesday. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (9) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (14:13) Barrier Reef Pools Mdn Plate 1000m
7 Caxton Lass (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top in what looks a decent maiden to start the meeting. Rob Heathcoate trained mare that resumes, having not raced since July 17 at Doomben when near the speed over 1200m and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when third, beaten two lengths. Looks to have trialled up really well for the return and Blinkers on first signals intent.
1 Bring Me Saki (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a son of Kobayashi that resumes. His last run came at Doomben over the mile on the same meeting as mentioned above, settling back and wide after a very ordinary start so forgive and forget. Trialled up nicely for the return and is another with Blinkers on for the return.
12 Greyt Performer (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a daughter of Performer that is on debut for Jeff Dunn. This girl comes here off the back of a trial win at Beaudesert where she won, and to my eye, moved well enough. Maps to be near the speed and off the trial, I say she can win.
Race 2. (14:48) Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks Hcp (C5) 1000m
2 Zelgaria (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) seems the straight bat option for Matty Dunn. He hasn’t raced since Dec 6 at Doomben when a sharp winner over 1110m, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. He has won three of his past four and a fast run 1000m on the bigger track looks ideal.
5 Secret Revolution (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1000m after resuming over 800m at Ipswich where he was beaten for early speed but railed through and drove hard late but just found one better in Ran Na Lady. Good upside/improvement to come, up in trip, he takes beating.
7 Zingalong (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a 1000m Sunny Coast horse so he gets the set up here to run a bold race fresh. His last run came over 1200m at Doomben on Aug 31 when on speed, doing work, and just felt the pinch late in the piece. Saves his best for this set up so I’d say he is a must for exotics.
Race 3. (15:32) Martin Collins Australia (Bm65) 1200m
3 Toro Strike (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks the winner. First run for Jim Mason came over this track/distance in a maiden where he was backed off the map and the bets were landed as he made an absolute mess of them in a dominant performance. Can only see upside/improvement, he’s the one to beat.
2 Territory Ash (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is knocking on the door. She ran over this track/distance last Sunday where she got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat when second to Thundering Soul, beaten a lip. Maps ideally and should be strong late.
5 Better Be Ready (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a threat for sure. Narrow but strong win on debut at Ipswich over 800m before going to 1000m at the Gold Coast where he didn’t quite measure up when down the track behind Petticoat. Back to this level, he can run an improved race.
Race 4. (16:12) Sunshine Coast Business Solutions (Bm65) 1000m
9 Stellar Lady (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in for Matty Hoysted and rates highly against these. Dominant win here two back at this trip before racing under the lights at the Gold Coast where she chased strongly from off the speed but just found one better in Crickets Chirping. Unbeaten at this track/distance, happy to be in her corner.
14 Bank Book (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a key threat. Dominant, arrogant first up win at the Gold Coast before going to the Poly here when a bit on the plain side late when fourth after leading. She then went to this track/distance when near the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Has to be respected, especially with home track advantage.
1 Xerri (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is dangerous if the track isn’t too wet. Not sure he was 100% happy on the shifty track at Toowoomba last time and couldn’t quite finish the job behind Quade, who would be a clear favourite here. Good track/distance record, he appeals if the track isn’t too wet.
Race 5. (16:52) Higgins Coatings Plate (C1) 1600m
9 Autora (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is knocking on the door. She ran over 1700m at Ipswich last time out where she got too far out of her ground but I really liked the way she closed off in defeat behind Lonergy. If she can settle closer in the run, she certainly has the finale to take this out.
8 Mr O’Reilly (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the key threat. Bevan Laming had a couple accepted but goes with the sole rep here. He got better as the race went on to win the maiden tag at the Gold Coast, finding plenty under pressure to win. Back to the mile no issue and off a win, commands respect.
5 Scribble (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a query at 1600m but if he can get some form of front end control, he is dangerous. He attempted to lead throughout over 1400m here last time and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through. Hard to beat if he gets a cheap furlong or two.
Race 6. (17:32) Kevlacat Power Boats Australia Hcp (C3) 1200m
2 Fairway Choice (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is hard to beat if she’s ready to go. David McColm trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Feb 17 at Grafton when contesting the Country Championships Qualifier and she rocketed late in a good performance behind Tribeca Star. Loved the way she moved in a recent trial win at Murwillumbah and if she’s ready to go, she’s the one to beat.
3 Pivotal Lad (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been hit and miss this prep but when he is on, he is a pretty solid animal. Last couple of runs have come at this track/distance, winning two back before a fourth here last time out after getting a fair way out of his ground. If he’s within range, he has the finale to win.
12 Nettles (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She comes to Queensland after racing in NSW where she has been pretty good, the latest though being in the ACT at Canberra when back and making up minor headway without threatening. Fast run 1200m, wet ground no issue, she takes beating.
Race 7. (18:12) Tab (Bm65) 1400m
6 Casrock (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Kelly Schweida. Just looked in need of the run fresh at the Gold Coast before going to 1350m at Ipswich when finding heavy ground and he tried hard but just found one better in Poseidon Ruler. That form does read quite well for this.
4 Star Act (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) seems to be enjoying life under the care of Liam Birchley after formerly being with Matty Dunn. The two runs for the stable have come over 1350m at Ipswich, placing in the first run before a strong win last time out on wet ground, giving them a start and a beating. Hard to knock her.
9 Merchant Lady (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be around the mark for the Neasham/Archibald camp. She has placed her past two, the latest coming over 1400m at Orange when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a good sight but just couldn’t quite see it through. One for exotics.
