Society Rock is set to return to work next week after recovering from a foot problem which kept him out of the July Cup.
The Golden Jubilee Stakes winner was forced to miss the July Cup after suffering a setback in the lead-up to the Newmarket feature.
However, trainer James Fanshawe said the four-year-old was now back in good form now and could face a fascinating face-off with July Cup winner Dream Ahead in France.
“He’s really well and has got over his sore foot,” said Fanshawe.
“He will start working next week and we will give him an entry in the Prix Maurice de Gheest (at Deauville on August 7).”
Society Rock finished second in the 2010 Golden Jubilee won by former Australian Starspangledbanner.
Dream Ahead won his first Group One as a two-year-old in August last year when he took out the Prix Morny at Deauville.
His four career wins have all been at 1200 metres with his only two defeats coming in longer races, both won by Frankel.
