The Dermot Weld-trained Speaking Of Which could go to America in search of Group One glory after being denied a run in the Irish Derby.
The Secretariat Stakes over a mile and a quarter (2000m) at Arlington in August is the race being considered for the colt.
A dual Melbourne Cup winning trainer, Weld has enjoyed success at the Arlington meeting with three winners of the Grade Two American Derby and the 2008 Secretariat with Winchester who is now resident in Australia to be prepared for the Melbourne Cup by John Sadler.
An impressive winner of the Group Three Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh in May, Speaking Of Which had been expected to bustle up Camelot in the Irish Derby.
However, that plan was scrapped because of testing conditions at the Curragh.
“He might go to the Secretariat in Arlington next month over a mile and a quarter,” Stan Cosgrove, racing manager for Moyglare Stud said.
The Irish Oaks at the Curragh on July 22 remains on the agenda for Moyglare’s Princess Highway, who annihilated the opposition in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
“She’ll go for the Irish Oaks. She was very impressive in Ascot,” said Cosgrove.
