10 Regency Happy Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done his recent racing at this track/distance and is holding his form really well at present. His latest run was on Feb 9 when near the speed and was there to put the race away but just found a couple better in a blanket finish when third to Special Hedge. Tick over trial last week was quite good and despite the gate, he’ll press forward and take beating.

1 Perfect Peach (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 12 when racing over 1200m here where he failed to fire a shot when down the track behind Dragon Four Seas. The rise to 1400m I do like, he drops to Class 5 grade and I liked the way he moved in a recent trial.

5 Joyful Life (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds. He resumed in the Special Hedge race mentioned above when doing work to land on speed and just felt the pinch late when down the track. Gets the Tongue Tie back on, a big jockey upgrade, he can run an improved race at odds.

4 Autumn Vibes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one to beat. Jamie Richards trains this son of The Autumn Sun, who debuted at this track/distance on Feb 9 and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off with real purpose late in the piece when third to Super Love. Looked sharp in a tick over trial win and despite the gate, is the one to beat.

7 Top Throne (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Ten Sovereigns that is on debut for David Hayes. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one, winning his past three and each time has moved quite well to my eye. The draw does makes things tricky but he looks an above average type.

5 Arden (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can definitely improve off his debut at this track/distance back on Jan 31 when down the track, racing like a very raw and new customer to the caper. Tick over trial was good, gets a jockey upgrade and maps ideally.

6 Raging Rapids (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a horse with talent for John Size and third up, he takes beating I say. He ran on Feb 9 at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I really liked the way he closed off late in the piece behind Super Love. He can settle closer in the run, be strong late…keen to be with him.

5 Sea Emerald (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Grunt that is on debut. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and each time has got better with each hitout, the latest being a win and seemed to move quite well. Tricky draw, but he has to be respected.

1 Suruga Bay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mark Newnham trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 23 over the mile on the dirt here when far from disgraced in defeat. That was in a Class 3. He resumes in a Class 4 and with extensive trial work under the belt, he’s ready to go I say. Watch betting.

8 Gallant Crown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. He got a track/distance win under the belt last start, getting the suck run in transit before angling clear and finished best to win and win well. Gets right down in the weights after the claim, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

2 Flying Luck (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency for Casper Fownes and should be around the mark once again. He hasn’t raced since Jan 19 over this track/distance when off speed and worked home well enough without threatening. Tick over trial was good and with a more positive ride, he takes beating.

6 Smiling Collector (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the Turf after racing on the Dirt here, the latest run coming over the mile on the Dirt here on Feb 12, the run seeing him finish down the track. His best is clearly good enough so I wouldn’t be dismissing him.

2 Fortune Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks quite clearly the one to beat. That win came on Feb 12 when landing on speed and was absolutely trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win in quite dominant style. Tricky draw but should slide forward and take a power of beating.

1 Offroad Master (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 31 over this track/distance when off speed and made up minor headway without threatening. Comes back to Class 4 grade and with luck, should be around the mark.

4 Judy’s Great (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to Sha Tin after racing last Wednesday at Happy Valley. He got into a decent spot near the speed but was never really a factor when down the track behind Charming Babe. Gets in well after the claim and maps handy.

8 Strathpeffer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky draw to overcome but he looks to have an engine under the hood and despite the tricky gate, he’s the one to beat. His recent runs have come at this track/distance, the latest run being on Jan 19 when back off the speed and held up at times but kept finding the line and was good late. With a drag into the race, he can take this out.

5 Gallant Epoch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since a track/distance win when leading throughout and what impressed me was how strong he was to the line in winning. He did seem to react big time to the freshen up, so it is rinse repeat here re set up.

1 Stellar Swift (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t fire a shot in several runs but does drop to Class 4 grade after racing in Class 3 where he simply hasn’t fired a shot. Bowman takes over and back to Class 4 company, his best is good enough to threaten.

7 Mojave Desert (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is humming for Mark Newnham and if within range, I think good luck beating him off the back of a third to Must Go at this track/distance when off speed, run off his legs but finished off with real purpose late in the piece I thought. If within range, he has the finale to do a number on them.

5 Must Go (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat off the back of a win in the race mentioned above. He got into the right spot in transit under Atzeni and in a driving go, finished best to score. He lobs into a good spot once again and is one of the leading contenders.

1 Self Improvement (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Must Go in the race mentioned above. He did a lot of work on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, feeling the pinch late when fourth. If he gets some form of front end control, he’ll take running down.

2 Lucky With You (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Frankie Lor, having not raced since a dominant track/distance win on Feb 9 when giving them a start and a beating, and was impressive the way he put them away late in the piece. He’s found winning form again, he can go on with it.

3 Magic Control (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since a strong win down the straight here over 1000m where he lapped up a fast run five furlongs and was impressive late in the piece. The rise back up to 1200m suits and is one of the leading contenders.

5 Taj Dragon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to Sha Tin after racing over this trip at Happy Valley where i am not sure he was 100% happy on the smaller track so I am going to be forgiving of that effort. Likes Sha Tin, but not the Sha Tin 1200m, which I find interesting. One for exotics I say.

1 The Boom Box (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the first of two good things on the card for mine. He comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 26 when giving them a start and an absolute beating, making it three wins from as many starts. Kept on ice and a recent tick over trial was quite good. Spots them a start but I think he’ll be too good for them.

5 Magnificent Nine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance. He got into a lovely spot just off the speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Gate is tricky but can press forward and run a positive race yet again.

4 Catch Me If U Can (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Unbeaten in two runs in country Victoria before being purchased for Hong Kong and is now under the care of Casper Fownes. Trial work says he needs time but I’d watch betting and see what it does.

9 Cambridge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a fab each way speck for mine. On the seven day back up after racing last Sunday over 2000m here where he got a fair way out of his ground from the wide gate and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and still be effective late.

10 Markwin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got dragged back to last from the wide gate and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up headway and was good in defeat. If he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.

4 C P Brave (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned pretty well and should appreciate getting to 1800m. He ran over the mile at Happy Valley last start where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, I did like the way he finished his race off in defeat. He’ll spot them a start but be strong at the end.

4 Light Years Charm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) needs to win this to get into the Derby and I think he will. He’s a very promising animal for David Eustace that broke his Hong Kong duck on Feb 9 where he made a mess of them over 1400m, and was dominant with something up the sleeve. Tick over trial was good and is racing like he’ll eat up 1600m.

6 Brilliant Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs at 1400m now and is racing like 1600m will suit. Latest run was two weeks ago where he got off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat behind Brilliant Express. Up in trip I like and is a threat if the fav is off his game.

1 Ghorgan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting. It’s probably too late to get him to a Derby even though connections, I dare say, purchased him from Europe with that in mind. He does have very good form around him from there and although is better suited over further, his trials indicate he’s settled into Hong Kong life nicely. One for exotics.

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 1 The Boom Box

LONG SHOT: Race Ten Number 9 Cambridge
