8 The Concentration (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me in what looks an open contest to start the program. He is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort, breaking a run of outs. Confidence is up and moved well in a tick over trial. Happy to be in his corner.

1 Gale Saga (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to The Concentration in the race mentioned above. He got back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose, just missing out on the win. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

10 Casa Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track in the same race won by The Concentration. He got back in the run and was never really a threat but did make up headway and was far from disgraced in defeat. If he can get a drag into the race, he’s dangerous at odds.

3 Mr Cool (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and worked home really well late when third to impressive winner Vulcanus. Purton sticks and has a more kind barrier to use. Rates highly.

2 Flowing Riches (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third to Speedy Smartie three weeks ago at this track/distance. He sat on speed and tried hard but had no answers for the finale of the impressive victor. Tricly gate but will press forward and be around the mark.

5 Natural High (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Power that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 25 over this trip at Happy Valley when down the track. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and has trialled well for the return. Watch betting.

1 Top Time (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got held up off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was far from disgraced. Maps to get clear air and with that, will be strong late and hard to hold out.

5 Lucky Ranger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after debuting with a second over 1200m here four weeks ago. He got back off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. The gate makes things tricky but with luck, he takes holding out.

9 Young Legacy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after resuming three weeks back over 1200m here. He was tardy to begin with and never really a factor. Had trialled well prior so I am not dismissing him entirely against these.

Leaning towards 5 Sky Cap (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but no real interest here. He ran down the straight here two weeks ago when off speed and was solid late without really threatening. Like him up to 1200m on the bending track, he’s dangerous and is worthy of an each way ticket.

1 One Man Show (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is over a month between runs since a second at this track/distance when near the speed and presented to win but just found one better in a driving go. Tick over trial was a good piece of work and maps ideally once again.

3 Speedy Smartie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky gate to overcome but hard to knock the last start track/distance romp, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Should press forward from the wide gate and prove to be dangerous.

4 Strathpeffer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since resuming with a second at this track/distance when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just felt the pinch late. Tricky draw but will press forward and if he gets front end control, he takes running down.

2 Rezeki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a strong track/distance winner from four weeks ago, getting the beaut run in behind before angling for clear air and once that eventuated, he knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Maps ideally again, he commands respect.

10 Red Brick Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track behind Rezeki in the race mentioned above last start. He got back off speed and made up minimal in a plain effort. Been given a mini let up and has looked to trial well since. Doubt he wins but can run first four.

2 Conrod Patch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have good ability and should take beating. He debuted three weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and worked to the line quite strongly in defeat when second. Better for the run, he should take beating against these in what looks a winnable race.

1 Voyage Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is over a month between runs since a placing at Happy Valley over this trip. He got into a decent spot from the tricky gate and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job. Tricky gate but is dangerous if he gets luck.

6 Cap Liner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been freshened up since Jan 7 over this trip at Happy Valley. He got back off speed and made up minimal headway, never really threatening. Tick over trial was good and maps to get a suck run in transit. First four threat.

2 Loyal Bright (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch and despite the mini freshen up, I am happy to be in his corner. Last run was five weeks ago at this track/distance, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in. Should press forward again and take running down once again.

1 Celestial Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a track/distance placing, getting back off speed and chased with purpose in the straight in a pretty good effort in defeat. Maps to settle closer in the run and be effective late.

6 Lifeline Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch but he’s capable. He placed three weeks back at this track/distance, settling off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Not sure I could back him to win but is a must for exotics.

I think class gets 2 Beauty Joy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) home. He ran two weeks ago in the Stewards Cup behind Romantic Warrior and while safely held, I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat. Like him up in trip, he drops miles in depth and maps to get every chance in transit.

3 Changcheng Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since a down the track effort in the January Cup at Happy Valley when off speed and was never really a factor. Good track/distance record, he can run a much improved race against these.

4 Encountered (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth in the January Cup and I thought had excuses. He got a check on the turn, lost momentum but picked up and was solid late. If the breaks go his way, he is more than good enough to take this out.

3 Victory Sky (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying and am quite keen on his prospects. Five weeks between runs since a dominant track/distance win, sitting on speed before being clicked up and away he went to win and win quite impressively. He’ll press forward once again and prove hard to get past.

2 Magnifique (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a first up win down the straight over 1000m on Dec 27, sitting near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win well. Good test here up to 1200m from the wide gate, but the return was sharp.

1 Horsepower (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m at Happy Valley where he got off speed and was solid late in the piece without threatening. If he gets luck from the draw, he’s good enough to win at a price.

1 Juneau Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. He placed three weeks ago at this track/distance where he got into a decent spot off speed and was there to win but couldn’t quite finish the job when third. He’s found positive form, he maps to stalk the speed and be effective late.

4 Emblazon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won the race mentioned above from three weeks ago. He gave them a start and a beating in an impressive effort, producing decent change up speed. In a real purple patch at the moment and commands respect.

2 Ka Ying Attack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile three weeks back here. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Back to 1400m, he’ll take running down at odds if he gets front end control.

10 Violet Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the get out. Former UK galloper that made his HK debut three weeks ago over the mile here. He was never really threatening but I did like the way he finished his race off in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, good upside to come, he’ll be strong late…happy to be on each way.

5 Aerodynamics (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been strong in two runs this time in and is bursting to win, as seen in the race mentioned above from three weeks ago, won by Patch Of Theta. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second. Hard fit, he appeals.

2 Karma (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2000m two weeks back. He got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Winning Wing. Like him back in trip and with better luck in running, he can take this out.

LONG SHOT: Race Eleven Number 10 Violet Star
