Vinery Stud announces 2025 Stud Fees

Vinery Stud has confirmed its 2025 stallion roster, with a stable of elite sires highlighted by the surging success of first-season sire Ole Kirk, who will stand at an increased fee of $99,000 (inc. GST) following an exceptional debut crop.

Ole Kirk has made a remarkable impact with 10 two-year-old winners from just 17 starters in his first crop, including three Stakes-winning juveniles: Magic Millions 2YO Classic hero O’ Ole, Group 3 Breeders’ Plate winner King Kirk, and Listed Moonee Valley Pearl victor Prestige Forever.

Sitting atop the First Season Sires’ rankings by every key measure—earnings, wins, Stakes wins, and individual winners—Ole Kirk is second only to Champion sire Snitzel among all 2YO sires by earnings.

“Ole Kirk due to demand has gone up in fee, he looks to be exceptional,” said Vinery’s General Manager Peter Orton. “His first crop progeny have won three Stakes races including the Magic Millions and he sits comfortably leading the first season sires lists. He has a perfect pedigree and offers a complete outcross for breeders throughout the heavy presence of Danehill in most pedigrees.”

Orton added, “The way Ole Kirk raced, we are looking to his late 2YOs and Spring 3YOs to dominate, what he has done to date is a bonus and I think the best is yet to come.”

Exceedance remains at $33,000 (inc. GST) for 2025 after covering 181 mares last season. With four Stakes winners already from his first crop—including the Group 1-placed Swiftfalcon and promising filly Dance To The Boom—Exceedance continues to make his presence felt on the track and in the sales ring, with yearlings fetching up to $320,000 in 2025.

Hawaii Five Oh will also stand at an unchanged $16,500 (inc. GST) in his second season. The son of I Am Invincible was in high demand during his debut year and Vinery is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first foals later this year. “We wait with great anticipation for the first foals to arrive by Hawaii Five Oh, a stallion we have great faith in,” Orton said.

All Too Hard, one of the most consistent sires in Australia, will stand for a reduced fee of $27,500 (inc. GST). He’s on track to secure a sixth Top 10 Sires finish in the last seven seasons. His daughter Stefi Magnetica’s victory in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile has reinforced his Group 1-producing credentials, shared by each of his five elite-level winners. His 2025 yearlings also impressed, reaching up to $350,000 in the sales ring.

Star Turn is another standout value proposition for breeders, with his service fee lowered to $16,500 (inc. GST). His 2025 yearlings averaged six times his fee, with top sellers reaching $350,000. He’s also making a name in Hong Kong with nine winners from only 13 runners, while his fillies continue to shine locally, including million-dollar earner Alsephina and Stakes performer Prairie Flower.

Headwater remains the ultimate value choice for breed-to-race participants. Standing at just $6,600 (inc. GST), he’s tracking toward his best season yet with 74 winners, including multiple Stakes winner London’s Image. With established runners like Jamaea, Wisdom Of Water, and Straight Acer, Headwater offers consistent returns at all levels.

In a bittersweet announcement, Casino Prince will retire from stud duties in 2025 after 17 seasons. The sire of 21 Stakes winners, including two Group 1 champions, has amassed over $66 million in progeny earnings. He will now enjoy retirement alongside Testa Rossa at Vinery’s historic Hunter Valley property.

“All other stallions will remain at the same fee or lower,” Orton said. “It’s a strong, value-driven roster built to give breeders options at every level.”
