Coolmore unveils exciting new stallion duo Delacroix and Super Seth for 2026 season

Coolmore Australia has strengthened its already elite stallion roster for 2026 with the addition of dual Group 1 winner Delacroix, while Champion New Zealand young sire Super Seth also joins the Hunter Valley operation.

By global sire sensation Dubawi, Delacroix arrives with an outstanding race record, an international pedigree and Timeform ratings that eclipsed fellow Dubawi sons Too Darn Hot and Ghaiyyath.

“We are thrilled to offer Delacroix to Australasian breeders,” said Coolmore Australia’s Sales and Nominations Manager Colm Santry.

“He’s an outstanding individual with all the attributes.

“In fact, it’s what we look for in a stallion – quality, athleticism and a world-class pedigree that is free of Danehill and Green Desert blood. Dubawi is one of the most influential sires in the world.

“His sons are already proving a major success in Australia, and also being a son of the great Tepin, a six-time Group 1 winner including at Royal Ascot, and dual US Champion Female Turf Horse.”

Prepared by legendary Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien, the imposing 16-hand bay developed into one of Europe’s premier middle-distance performers.

His defining performance came in the Group 1 Eclipse Stakes at Sandown, where he unleashed an extraordinary finishing burst from an impossible position to defeat Ombudsman and Ruling Court.

O’Brien was left in awe of the display.

“What he did at Sandown, you don’t see horses do that,” O’Brien said.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a horse do what he did.”

Delacroix backed up that performance by claiming the Irish Champion Stakes, producing another devastating burst to defeat Anmaat after accelerating clear inside the final 400 metres.

By completing the prestigious Eclipse Stakes-Irish Champion Stakes double, Delacroix joined an exclusive group that includes Sadler’s Wells, Giant’s Causeway, Sea The Stars and St Mark’s Basilica.

He also captured both Derby Trials at Leopardstown, won the Autumn Stakes as a juvenile and was narrowly beaten in the Futurity Stakes.

Santry believes Dubawi’s growing influence in Australia highlights Delacroix’s appeal.

“What we’ve seen with Night Of Thunder, Ghaiyyath and Too Darn Hot, is this sire line adapts well to our conditions, producing versatile horses with speed, class and that they train on.

“Delacroix fits that mould perfectly as a high-class Group-winning two-year-old who trained on to win multiple Group 1s as a three-year-old against older horses in the Eclipse Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes.”

Also joining the Coolmore Australia roster is Super Seth, who has already established himself as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most exciting young stallions.

The son of Dundeel was crowned Champion New Zealand First Season Sire before adding Champion Second Season Sire honours, producing four individual Group 1 winners from his opening two crops.

Only the legendary Redoute’s Choice has produced more Group 1 winners at the same stage of a stallion career.

A Caulfield Guineas winner himself, Super Seth has already sired two Guineas winners from his first crop, headed by Australian Guineas hero Feroce and Randwick Guineas winner Linebacker.

His Group 1 tally also includes Queensland Derby winner Maison Louis and Champion New Zealand juvenile La Dorada.

La Dorada won the Karaka 2YO Millions before adding victories in the Manawatu Breeders’ Stakes and Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes, before returning this season to claim the Levin Stakes.

Demand for Super Seth’s progeny continues to soar, with his yearlings selling for as much as $950,000 in 2026.

Coolmore believes his biggest opportunity is still to come, with the stud confident his strongest and best-credentialled crop is only just reaching the racetrack.
