The catalogue for the 2026 Classic Yearling Sale – regarded as one of the fastest-rising success stories among the Southern Hemisphere’s early-season auctions – has now been released online.

A total of 798 yearlings have been catalogued for the sale, scheduled to take place at Riverside Stables in Sydney from February 8-10.

The lineup features progeny from 113 individual stallions, including leading names such as Extreme Choice, Snitzel, I Am Invincible, Zoustar, Too Darn Hot, Ole Kirk, Wootton Bassett, Written Tycoon, Street Boss, Per Incanto, Harry Angel, Super Seth, Castelvecchio, The Autumn Sun, Toronado, Dundeel, Justify, Alabama Express, Ghaiyyath, Proisir, Hellbent, and Bivouac.

Buyers will also find the first yearlings offered by an exciting group of 14 freshman sires: Anamoe, Artorius, Best of Bordeaux, Daumier, Diatonic, Ellsberg, Hitotsu, In The Congo, Jacquinot, Profondo, Sejardan, State Of Rest, Stronger and Top Ranked.

Seventy-four individual vendors will present yearlings this year, with the majority being eligible or qualified for incentive schemes such as BOBS, VOBIS Silver, QTIS, Racing Rewards SA and Westspeed.

The Classic Sale has built a reputation as the best-value yearling auction in the Southern Hemisphere.

Since 2018, it has produced 24 Group 1 winners – 13 of which were secured for $100,000 or less – cementing its reputation as an essential stop for serious buyers.

Whether buyers are seeking a future Everest champion, Melbourne Cup runner, Golden Slipper winner, Queen Elizabeth Stakes star, Champagne Stakes hero, Sires Produce victor, Blue Diamond performer, Doncaster Mile contender or VRC Derby winner – the Classic catalogue offers proven pathways to all of them.

Among the recent star graduates are Pride Of Jenni ($100,000), Sepals ($80,000), Private Harry ($115,000) and Skybird ($110,000), along with Hong Kong Triple Crown champion Voyage Bubble, one of 199 Classic graduates to have won a combined 531 races in Hong Kong since 2018.

In that same period, the sale has also produced 41 millionaire earners, while the average price of a Classic-sold Australian stakes winner is $113,594 – approximately 63% cheaper than the Gold Coast January Yearling Sale equivalent.

The continued graduate success is extensive, with recent headline performers including Veight, Celestial Legend, Beauty Eternal, Coco Sun, Mazu, Rivellino, Within The Law, Savvy Hallie, Idle Flyer, Raging Force, Salty Pearl, Jedibeel, North England, Arkansaw Kid and numerous others.

The Classic Sale is also emerging as a major source of future stallions, counting graduates such as Extreme Choice, I Am Invincible, Choisir, Hellbent, Castelvecchio, Brazen Beau and Cosmic Force among its influential alumni.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch expressed his enthusiasm following the completion of the catalogue.

“Classic doesn’t need to be ‘sold’ to breeders or vendors anymore, it’s a sale that they want to be involved in and so the quality of yearlings in the sale improves year after year,’’ Hutch said.

“It’s a sale that attracts a very cosmopolitan buying bench and we feel having a well-diversified catalogue is particularly important, so to have 113 individual sires and 74 individual vendors represented is a very pleasing outcome.

“The Classic Sale continues to produce some of the biggest names in the thoroughbred world in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong especially and we have every confidence that the 2026 renewal contains any number of top-class performers of the future.

“The success of graduates was in evidence as recently as last weekend when Revengeance became the second consecutive winner of the $1m Golden Gift to graduate from the Classic Sale following the win of North England in 2024, while the past two winners of the $2m Inglis Millennium are also both Classic graduates in Fully Lit and Rivellino.

“We are excited by the ongoing upward trajectory of the sale and are looking to welcoming a massive contingent of clients and friends to Riverside in February.’’

All yearlings offered at the 2026 Classic Yearling Sale will be eligible for the lucrative Inglis Race Series.
