Wyong races brought forward due to heat

Racing NSW has confirmed revised race times for Saturday’s Wyong meeting in response to forecast high temperatures.

In line with Racing NSW’s Hot Weather Policy, which takes into account the wet bulb globe temperature incorporating factors such as temperature, humidity, wind speed and solar radiation, the meeting will commence earlier than scheduled at 11.05am, with the final race to be run at 4.15pm.

The changes were made following consultation with Wyong Race Club, the trainers’ association and the jockeys’ association, with all parties in agreement.

Racing NSW advised that the highest metropolitan hot weather protocols will be implemented for the meeting, with additional cooling equipment to be sourced from nearby clubs to support the welfare of horses and participants.

Adjustments have also been made to the timing of Friday’s meetings at Parkes and Ballina.

Parkes’ six-race program will now begin at 11.52am and conclude at 2.36pm, while Ballina will start at 1.14pm and finish at 5.33pm.
