It took her the whole straight after racing three wide all the way, but WRITTEN BEAUTY (Written Tycoon-Beauty World), got the job done winning comfortably at Randwick and will improve considerably.
It was over 1000m and BM 94 level and the race was worth $125,000
“She was fresh today, over raced a bit and I think it was a great win,” defended her co-trained Michael Hawkes.
“She was a little bit pumped as it was her first start for a while and, yeah, she was three wide all the way but the pace was lost early so it didn’t unfold like we thought it would.
“Not where you start but where you finish your campaign and she is on track.
“We just wanted to get a win under her belt. Tommy rode her well and she is maturing all the time.
“We do have big plans for her this carnival.”
What those plans are we aren’t privy too just yet but her win running away from the luckless SPACEBOY (Deep Field-Miatoko) and the topple CRADLE MOUNTAIN (West Quest-From Japan) was impressive enough and took her overall race tally to 6 starts for 5 wins and a second placing.
That only defeat was on a Heavy track so when the rain started to trickle down today there was some concern.
Not for major punters though and she started at $1.30m.
She now has won $305,000 in prize money.
Spaceboy, who continues to be an honest galloper every start, was expected to lead but when he bungled the jump everyone’s plans flew out the window.
His effort to claw his was into 2nd spot was meritorious.
