High profile owner and multiple Melbourne Cup winner Lloyd Williams has notified stewards that one of his stayers who was guaranteed a run in the Melbourne Cup would not head to the race.
Lloyd Williams informed stewards that Sir Isaac Newton will not head to the 2017 Melbourne Cup after finishing last in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup after over racing for a majority of the race.
Sir Issac Newton sat at #19 in the Melbourne Cup order of entry meaning his absence has opened a spot in the race.
Sir Isaac Newton was $151 in Melbourne Cup odds.
