Champion Western Australian jockey William Pike is set to begin his Melbourne stint at Caulfield this weekend.
Willie Pike made the decision to head to Melbourne to ride during the Spring Racing Carnival and he is taking booking from this weekends Caulfield meeting in which the G2 PB Lawrence Stakes headlines the card of racing.
Due to COVID restrictions Pike is currently completing his mandatory 14-day quarantine period in Melbourne but after testing negative will be free to ride on Saturday.
Pike’s manager Dale Verhagen announce the news on Twitter this afternoon whilst taking a light hearted dig at the star jockey who is available for bookings.
William Pike made amends for his relatively poor record in Victoria by winning the rich All Star Mile in the Autumn aboard Regal Power.
Pike has already committed for a ride in this years Melbourne Cup aboard the Rob Hickmott trained import Schabau if the horse makes the field and will look to gain automatic entry in the ballot exempt The Bart Cummings at Flemington.
