The four-year-old recently finished fourth in a Cranbourne trial, led by jockey Ben Melham.
Giga Kick took the top spot, followed by Wee Nessy and Magic Time.
Following the trial, Price expressed contentment with the trial results and anticipates subsequent improvements from What You Need.
Another Cranbourne trial is slated before the McEwen Stakes.
Regarding The Everest, Price revealed that there are ongoing discussions to purchase a slot for What You Need, but nothing is confirmed.
The horse’s likely trajectory involves the McEwen Stakes, the Group 2 Premiere Stakes, and potentially The Everest, pending slot confirmation.
