We see the classy stayers feature in the nominations for Tancred Stakes Day at Rosehill on Saturday

That G1 Tancred Stakes (2400m) shapes as a guide to both the Queen Elizabeth Stakes or the Sydney Cup on Day 2 of The Championships.

Two Melbourne Cup winners are entered with Gold Trip ($4.50 betr) who could back up from last week as well as Vow And Declare ($26).

Top drawer mare Montefilia ($3.50) is another who could run on consecutive weeks while the international contingent are also chances to run. Baron Samedi ($8), Cleveland ($15), Raise You ($15) and Temple Of Artemis ($51) are all there for Joseph O’Brien while William Haggas could try to keep his extraordinary roll going with Protagonist ($11).

The other G1 on the day is the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) for the girls. Will it be those who have only raced over shorter courses so far like Slipper winner Fireburn ($11) or Zougotcha ($6)?

Or will it be those fillies who obviously look to be strong Oaks types such as Pavitra ($3.50), Prowess ($2.80) and Polygon ($8)?

We roll onto the Australian Derby next week and the G2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) has been a great guide to it in recent seasons. Full Of Sincerity ($3) heads over from New Zealand against up and comers like Stroke Of Luck ($4.50) and Awesome John ($10).

The G2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) is another of the lead ups to the Queen Of The Turf and those who will be staking their claims may include G1 winners Espiona ($3.50) and Mustang Valley ($26). Runners with international form such as Statement ($6), Going Global ($6) and Times Square ($15) are a watch.

Last chance to get into the Doncaster Mile comes through the G3 Doncaster Prelude but it might be more of a challenge to make the field with 31 nominations. Skyman ($15) and Waterford ($4.50) are a couple for leading trainer Chris Waller with hopes.

There is also the G3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) for the sprinters, the G3 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) for those who may stay and a G3 TL Baillieu Handicap (1400m) for the youngsters who could get to the Sires or Champagne Stakes.
