The younger full brother of champion mare Verry Elleegant made his racing debut at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, finishing well back in the field. So Suave, a three-year-old colt by Zed out of Opulence, crossed the line 8.53 lengths behind the winner Conchiero as an $81 outsider in the betting.
Trained by Chris Waller, who also prepared Verry Elleegant throughout her stellar career, So Suave settled towards the rear of the field in the 1400m maiden event. Although under pressure as the runners straightened, he found the line strongly, hinting that he may appreciate longer distances in the future.
Some of the biggest names in racing are involved in So Suave’s ownership, including Brae Sokolski, Ozzie Kheir, and Lloyd Williams. The colt was purchased by Sokolski’s Yes Bloodstock for $260,000 at the 2023 Easter Yearling Sale.
