The racing community is mourning the death of a licensed trainer who passed away after being thrown off a horse in the country Victorian town of Carlsruhe, near Kyneton, on Thursday.
The 60-year-old trainer was reportedly breaking the horse when it bucked and struck a power pole.
Racing Victoria have yet to release the name of the trainer who passed stating that they would wait until all members of his family had been notified.
“We are aware of the tragic passing of a licensed trainer who is reported to have fallen from a horse this morning in country Victoria,” Racing Victoria said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends, some of whom have yet to be notified so we are unable to identify the person in question at this time.”
Victoria Police confirmed that WorkSafe are investigating the incident.
