The scheduled meeting at Sale on Thursday has been postponed to Sunday due to significant rainfall in the Gippsland region.
The racecourse recorded 25mm of rain in the 24 hours leading up to 5pm on Wednesday, and with further showers forecast overnight, Racing Victoria opted to delay the meeting by three days.
βNo turf tracks in the region were available to accommodate the meeting tomorrow, and with the weather forecast set to improve towards the end of the week, retaining the meeting at Sale was deemed the most suitable option,β Racing Victoria said in a statement.
The fields for Sundayβs nine-race program will remain unchanged, with all previous scratchings now reinstated.
Meanwhile, the Hawkesbury meeting is expected to proceed as scheduled despite receiving 400mm of rain on Tuesday night. Trials originally planned for Newcastle on Friday have been rescheduled to next Wednesday.
