Prominent owner Bob Ruttley believes that Syreon is primed to run a big race in Saturday’s Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick.
Trained by Chris Waller, Syreon is on the cusp of gaining a run in Saturday’s feature and goes into the Doncaster after winning the Group 3 Queen’s Cup (2000m) on April 2.
Ruttley hopes Syreon gets the chance to run on Saturday.
“They always say you need a 2000m horse to win a Doncaster and his last win over 2000m was very good,” Ruttley said.
“He is in the form of his life, so why couldn’t he run well on Saturday?”
