Group One winner Pressday has been ruled out of Saturday’s Group One Rosehill Guineas with an elevated temperature.
Trainer Chris Waller informed stewards the TJ Smith Classic and Sandown Guineas winner had to be treated for the elevated temperature on Thursday morning, forcing his withdrawal from the second leg of the Sydney three-year-old triple crown.
The scratching leaves a field of 13 for the 2000m feature in which New Zealand Derby winner Jimmy Choux is the favourite at $3.40 after opening at $4.60 with TAB Sportsbet on Wednesday.
The other notable firmer has been Shamrocker, the only filly in this year’s race.
Shamrocker, winner of the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington earlier this month, opened at $11 but was in to $6.50 late on Thursday.
