The next forty-eight hours will be crucial to the immediate future of the Robert Heathcote trained Rothfire, who has been battling the effects of a stone bruise since Tuesday.
Heathcote is adamant about that.
“Something has got to happen in the next forty-eight hours,” stated Heathcote.
“A stone bruise is not a simple thing. It can take time to come right.
“Rothfire was still sore this morning and now I need something to happen … good or bad.
“That might sound crazy. If it heals now that’s all well and good but, if it is going to turn into an abscess, I need that to happen as soon as possible so we can move forward with treatment from there.
“We’ve got two weeks to the Stradbroke, so we do have time in theory, but, right now, Rothfire is still sore and we can only wait and see how things develop.
“As I said, I think the next forty-eight hours are crucial.”
